Hi,

I'm back :lol2:

My business is dog training. The name of my business comes from
mixing the scientific names of humans (Homo sapiens) and dogs
(Canis familiaris). I did this because I train people how to work with
their dogs in my business. I think it also works if you just translate
the Latin as it comes out as "wise dog" and of course a wise dog
would want to train with me. smile.gif

I recently ran a logo contest. Aaron and Sherice have agreed
to give the winning logos to Michael 2Square and he will put
them in the designers' private hangout.

I'd like the following included on the card:
my name- Jane Masterson

Perhaps the text "dog training" and "dog walking" on the
bottom of Sherice's logo ( one with pawprint and mortar board)
But for now keep the dog walking off the other logo. I do
some dogwalking but I've always got a waiting list and so
I can't decide whether I should have it on my card.

I'll go look at archives and see if there is anything I really like
from past contests.

I'd like the files ready to submit to psprint.com
and I'd like my business partner to easily be
able to change the info if she wants to use your design.

Could you make the business cards a little bigger so I can see them better?
Could you try putting my contact information at the bottom of the stationary.

Finally just in case I use the business ad as an ad could you do a version
that mentions I'm located in Hyde Park.

I just noticed the faded dog in the background of the stationary
and I don't like it

You don't need to write Chicago
just Hyde Park is enough

I don't like the reverse image
dog on the back of the card.
I'm not sure I even like the

I like it both of your cards better without the Hyde Park

Can you both post it in normal business
card size so I can print it out and see what
it would look like when it is the actual size.

I like the Canis sapiens (pawprint) ones
better than the first one.

I think the first one is too red for me
I don't like my name so big or maybe I don't like it so red.
I think the text about what I offer is
confusing (my fault :rolleyes: )

I like the phone number with dots
and my email address and I think
I like the stretched out website.

As I said above, I like the pawprint ones.
I like the one with the bigger Canis sapiens
Could you leave the Hyde Park Dog Training
in but change the Gentle Methods...Great Results
to Puppy Training. Could you make the tan
a little darker. I don't like the text about
what I offer (I'll think about it but for now
could you capitalize the Group Lessons and
the Walk in the Train and Walk). Could you
make it a template so we could change the
text depending on what we were currently
offering?

Hello,

The file I downloaded for the Canis Sapiens was an unlayered eps and all the type was turned into outlines so I am not able to edit the hyde park section unless It is ok with you that I put in a different font (might not be exact). Let me know and I'll shoot you those revisions tomorrow afternoon est.

where your dog gets training and a walk

Looks good!

Not sure I like Hyde Park there but
I think it has to be somewhere if I
am going to use this in a Chicagoland
(icky word isn't it ) pet newspaper.
We don't want a lot of calls from people
out of our area. Would it look bad
if you raised the dog a little and then
put:
DOG TRAINING
IN HYDE PARK
and then still had a little space before
the line that separates the logo from
the text?


My computer doesn't seem to believe
in WYSIWYG and so could you
repost them in the bigger version.
They then print out about the
right size.

They are also coming out pink and
blue instead of red and black, but
I can imagine that away:)

I have a bunch of things I'd like you to try:

The s in sapiens looks like it has been capitalized
I want it in lower case

Delete the "private, semi-private and group
lessons, walk and train stuff" and put
Hyde Park Dog and Puppy Training" there
instead

The brown looks muddy to me. Could you
try a different brown or perhaps different
colors altogether.

Sorry I've been out of pocket for a few days... the things are really picking up!

Anyway, on this image, I've removed the owner from your card, Jane. On Yours Claudia, you wanted the web site put back on there, which I did. You also wanted your title made smaller and put on one line... but with the way this card is laid out, I can't make it work. It runs right into your contact information. I did want to try something though, with your title. Rather than have it say what you do, I changed it to be what you are. I think it makes the card a little more professional, and gives you a stronger identity to whoever looks at your card.

Let me know what you think about these edits, I promise I'll be around more often than I have been! :D

PS Jane, thanks for sending me the numbers on the printing that you got... it looks like the company I work with could only be competitive with much higher quantities. I thought my guy could make it work, but if you're going with a run of 250, the company you got that quote from would probably be your best bet. However, if at any time you want like 1000 or more of anything, I'll hook you up ;) .
