Suggestion for Palmer

I've noticed that some of the contests have the description changed to indicate "contest over winner is so and so". Not all of them are edited this way. I think it would be cool to have them all edited this way so that a simple glance will tell that it is over and who the winner was. Or, I don't know...maybe it wouldn't be so cool - it might be demoralizing for you to not see your name very often ;) JUST KIDDING on that last part :unsure:

We did that for a little while then thought it would spoil some of the suspense for the team. We wanted them to find out who won by reading the thread, not by reading the title of the thread :)

I'm wondering if in some subconcious way it may influence other contest holders on their decision. Maybe I'm thinking too much. :wacko: Anyway, thanks for the comments, we'll consider changing back to the old way.

Palmer...I agree with this thought. At first it was nice to see "*Contest Over* Winner: NAMEHERE" but then I too got to thinking if someone was just browsing the site and saw PRODESIGNER over and over that might influence their opinion before they even post a contest.

If people are interested they should read the posts throughout a contest and by the time they reach the announcement of the winner they should know WHY the design was selected as the winner on merits and likes...rather than picking PRODESIGNER just because this person wins everything. My vote is just to show *Contest Over* or something like that in the title. Let people read more if they are interested.

I didn't get a chance to respond earlier.. but, you make a great point. It almost hit me right after I hit the post button. So, disregard my earlier suggestions. Although, just having "Contest Over" would be beneficial I think. So, people can track them a little easier.

Truth be told, I think you just know subconciouslly that your name wouldn't ever show up on that line :P heehee... Just kidding, just kidding! I've only been on here a few days, but Palmer, regardless of what everyone else says about you, I like ya!!!

As a designer, I LIKE seeing the name there. When I see someone listed several times (more than me!) it brings out my competitive nature and makes me step up my design work. Competition is a good thing! :box:

I started editing the subject to have the "*Conetest Over* Winner: " for the reason ElKootcho mentioned: I think designers should be able to see their name on their.

I suppose it *may* have the ability in influence desicions, we'll have to talk about that. :)

Sorry for not keeping up on the "*Contest Over*" thing though, I'll run through tonight and make some edits. :)

Oh, just to clarify, I usually make the subject " *Contest Over* " when a winner is picked, then about a week later I add the winners name. I do this so that all the designers have a chance to see for themselves without me ruining the suprise. :)
