My Friend Needs Your Help!

She owns a business that is a little difficult to describe. Her local graphic designer is unable to come up with a logo that suits the identy of the business. Can YOU get it right? I told her YOU could...so let's give her our best effort!

Business Name : NEW SENSATION

Primary Function: Reduce cellulite on the human body through Endermologie treatments. Basically it is like using a machine that lifts and sucks the skin (like a vacuum cleaner with rollers) on the exterior of the body...non-invasive. The machine moves the deep fat pockets around and allows circulation into areas that typically store fat. You can learn about the machine and it's benfits by visiting www.endermologie.com.

Primary Clients: Women who exercise and eat right but just can't seem to get rid of that buldge on their legs or tummy or underarms...wherever. These clients typically see improvements after only a few 40 minute sessions. The most popular time to use this service is about 6-8 weeks before a vacation (swimming suits) event or an event where people want to look their best.

Thoughts to ponder while coming up with your creative best:
The look of this logo may appeal to women, but should not be exclusively geared toward them.
This logo should be simple and easy to recognize...like a symbol of hope...this procedure provides HOPE to people who feel helpless. Think OPTIMISM!
It is the missing link between diet and exercise.
It is WAY more affordable than surgical options like a tummy tuck or liposuction.

Technical Details:
I know she will use this in ALL forms of advertising...print, TV, web...so please design in a VECTOR format and I'll get more deatils about the specific file extensions later.

Hope that challenges your right brain to create something totally unique...go forth now...CREATE!

Deadline: July 31, 2004!

Hi Matt and Alexander,

Very nice, both of you! I don't have any suggested changes at this time...I will wait for a few more designs to come in before I show my friend her choices. We may come back with some color choices, but I'm not yet sure what those might be.

Please STAY TUNNED...or...submit more if something else comes to your right brain.

;) Thanks!!!

Since we haven't had any feedback yet, I thought I would take this chance to clean up my design a bit.

NEW Feedback:

COXY: This design doesn't speak to me, and doesn't say what the business does, unless I'm missing your point? Am I? What do YOU see?

JASON: I think you are on to something with your first design...I see a shrinking waistline and two birds flying free (feeling of optimism and HOPE we were looking for). The two designs with the N and the S are good too, but may be harder to distinguish to the common eye. I'll let you know if my friend would like to see anything different from these initial designs. Good job...thank you.

NVOKE: Of the two I like the first better...I'll see what my friend thinks.

Alexander: I liked your design, but my friend thinks it looks a bit like clipart. Did you have anything else you wanted to submit?

Matt: she was pleased with this one...do you have anything else on your mind?

Thank you all...keep them coming!

WOW!! It's not often people see what I do!! :D
The birds were a happy accident, but you hit the shrinking waistline right on the head.
I've cleaned up the lines a bit and used the new font just in case.

Paula! Those look GREAT too! :D

I can't tell you how refreshing these designs have been. (I think I'll do this for my brother's plumbing company too!)

I'm very eager to see what my friend thinks about all of these thoughtful designs...I will post her responses as soon as we can meet...possibly even tomorrow?

Thanks again all!

Thank you for your design! I am afraid it may not be on track with the direction we were thinking. :weep: A logo like this might be neat for a coffee house or a bookstore, but I just don't see the connection to New Sensation and the service they provide. I'd love to see you take another stab at it...if you'd like. Thanks again.

I HAVE NOT FORGOTTEN YOU! YOU DESERVE FEEDBACK!

I am eager to give you all feedback...my friend went on a spontanious vacation last week and is due back on Tuesday...I'll be quick on the jolly to get you what you've been waiting for...thanks again for hanging in there!

Hello Designers!

Here is what my friend had to say...Her favorite is Matt's first design.

Matt...she would like to see the following revisions:

Use the FONT from your second design (in place of the first).

The colors are great, please stick with those as they are.

She wants to see what you can come up with to make the circle a bit more like a crystal ball. Not a full blown crystal ball, you can leave it to the imagination, but something a little more identifiable.

We are also working on a new tag line to go with the crystal ball theme to work with her new logo. If you care to offer anything we would love to hear your thoughts. ;)

Please let me know if you have any questions...THANK YOU ALL!!!

Hello All,

It's not too late to enter your designs! There is NO WAY around having to extend the deadline, as my friend is so wrapped up in running her business, she is unable to give feedback in a timely manner (sorry about that).

She DOES need this logo for some upcoming advertising, so I can't imagine this running more than an extra week (August 7).

MATT:
I have 3 requests:
How would it look if you took the legs of the crystal ball and left them as unfilled areas/lines. (The blockiness takes away from the otherwise smooth lines of the logo)
THEN...can we see how it looks with the crystal ball back over to the LEFT as part of the word NEW, as in your original design? We'd also like to see it centerd between the word NEW and the word SENSATION.

THANKS AGAIN!!! :D

Congrats :D Matt :D

You've done a nice job of understanding what we are asking in our changes!

My friend will most likley choose either the 3rd or 4th design out of your last submissions, but I will verify that with you ASAP.

One thing I know she asked about was if we could incorporate a little bit of black into the crystal ball to tie it all together...perhaps the stand or the circle or the body?

With the tag line, I think she is going to go with "A New You, A New Future" but for now, can you take away the words and just send me that specific font info?

Please don't forget, we will need this in a vector format... ;)

Thanks again Matt!

What happens now that we've declared a winner?

Hi Matt,

The final revision is to take the FIRST design in the latest group...change the base to also be black in color and Viola! we have a great new logo.

We will need the file in vector...saved in several of the most common formats like .jpeg / .eps / ? ? ? what ever others you can think of that are commonly requested.

Please also send the font style and the RGB numbers that make up the color blue.

What else...am I forgetting anything?

THANKS AGAIN for all your hard work! I've enjoyed working with you!
