What is the best program to use for layouts and logos?

My opinion for layouts is Adobe Photoshop, I haven't done alot of logos so I do not know here.

I just wantedd to hear/read some of your preferences.

I work with Fireworks MX and Photoshop.

I start EVERY design I make in MX, then export .psd into PS....then optimize and slice...etc back in MX...also creating all text in MX.

It depends on the media that you're designing for. I'm in the print industry and by far the most used program for logo creation is Adobe Illustrator.

Logos: CorelDRAW, Illustrator, Streamline, PhotoShop
Layout: CorelDRAW, Quark, InDesign

I work in the print industry too.

For web-work I like PhotoShop, Fireworks & Dreamweaver (I'm a wuss and like the whole WYSIWYG thing... I couldn't code my way out of a kleenex box... well perhaps a corrugated cardboard box - I can code a little bit.)
