Hey folks,

I’m planning to get some tshirts made for my Talk Wrestling Online (http://www.talkwrestlingonline.com/) (TWO) website and need you guys to come up with a design.

Prize: $125

T-Shirt specifications
- Tshirts will be black
- I’ll be using screen printing

Image specifications
- Can be no bigger than 35cms wide x 55cms (will appear on the front – chest)
- Only 2 colours to be used in total
- Must be in vector format, with a transparent background

From the printers: We can work from most graphics and page layout applications, including Adobe Illustrator, Freehand, PhotoShop Corel and Quark.

(I've got Fireworks if that makes a difference)

Attachments
I’ve attached a zip file with the logo (in vector format), it is transparent.

Logo
The logo currently uses 4 colours (its got shading in darker and lighter greys), so it would need editing as I can only use 2 colours in total. I don’t mind if you re-do it, as its only text, as long as it looks similar I’m fine with it. (I’m not sure if its easier to edit, or re-do)

Image requirements
- It needs the TWO logo (or something similar)
- Web address (www.TalkWrestlingOnline.com) - not too big though
- Some kind of image (where you come in!)

Ideas
I’m totally stuck for ideas, you could use a play on the letters TWO, or have an image related to wrestling (must be your own) – totally up to you, just something simple.

I think they would prefer something funny, so if you think along those lines. The age range of the forum members is mainly between 15-30 and most of them are male. They’ll be wearing this to wrestling events, so keep that in mind.

If you want to add a slogan, feel free.

Deadline
The deadline will be the 25th of July. I will then show the entries to the TWO forum members and pick a winner using their feedback.

I may pick more than one winner if we like more than one design ($125 each then)

I’ll be checking back frequently, so any questions, let me know.

Thanks.

The attached image is a PNG image which is not a vector image (unless someone knows something I don't ;) )
I've designed a new logo for you (since I don't have the same font) and a very simple tee design, but I'd rather work on a design with your logo first.
Thanks.

What I was told:

The PNG file you have is in vector format. It was made in Fireworks MX and sourced as a 300 DPI image.

Although I was given 2 PNG files, one with the black background and this transparent one, but I think they both are vector.

I've attached the other one, just incase.

The fonts associated with the logo are:

- Myriad Web
- Myriad Web Italic
- Myriad Web Bold
- Myriad Condensed Web
- Myriad Condensed Web Italic

Thanks.

Nope (see attached)...
I'll see if I can recreate it as a true vector image with your fonts. If not, I'll post what I have. :)

Here is what I have before trying to rework your logo. I added "TWO" with the intention of mimicing the ring ropes. Very simple design.

Hey,

Good start, a few suggestions:

1) Could you remove the lines behind the Talk Wrestling Online text.

2) Add the url somewhere (www.TalkWrestlingOnline.com)

3) Try using a dark grey instead of red.

Thanks.

Here is what I have so far. Sorry, I haven't had the time to duplicate your logo yet.

I prefer that, could you have the W in all white, and the other bits in grey, as the site has always made the "Wrestling" text usually stand out in the logo, so might as well make the letter stand out too.

Thanks.

I managed to get a 300 DPI image of the logo - I've added it to the first post in this thread.

Sorry about that everyone!

Here are the changes you requested.

The image you've attached, although it is 300dpi, is still a .png which is not a vector image. If you want your end result to be a true vector image, we will need your logo file as a .eps or .ai.
Thanks.

Looks good Jason :)

I'll find out about the vector format for the logo, if I cant, I dont mind it as it is.

Hi,

I've been sent an .ai version of the logo, not sure if it will work or not, if it doesnt, just go with normal text. Its attached.

Carl - looks good, I cant think of any alterations. Just to be sure, it is only using two colours? Did you edit the logo as it was four colours? Is the image you used OK to use for the tshirts - copyright?

Thanks.

Kamran,

I rebuilt the logo from scratch. I used two colors, white and gray. All black areas are clear and will use the t-shirt for the color

The image is my creation - no copyright issues.

Logo looks great - just like the original, good job!

As I said before, theres no alterations for that design, feel free to offer additional designs if you have the time.

In case you were set on your logo, I figured I'd have a go at that one as well... And gave it a little "Sperfly" touch while I was at it
;)

Hey,

Everyone - If you would like to remove the "TWO" from the background of the logo, feel free, as it seems to be getting in the way of some of the designs.

Elemeno^P - My favourite from those is the 5th one, could you try it without the "TWO" in the background of the logo. Could you also add the "We're all talk" text with it - but without the full-stop.

Also if you can, could you add it on a black tshirt like the others have.

I'm not too keen on the others, I prefer the 5th one much more than the rest.

Jason - I dont like that wrestler image, could you remove him, and remove the "TWO" from the background of the logo, and put it above the logo instead? Just want to see how that would look.

Thanks.

I couldn't get it to look right at all with the "TWO" above the rest of the logo (it was a centering thing). So instead I tryed the attached.

Hey,

Jason - Could you try moving the logo to the left, then leave more space inbetween that and the "TWO"? Just want to see how it compares.

Elemeno^P - Could you have the "We're all talk" text above the image?

Carl = Looks good, could you put it on a tshirt again - that way when I show the rest of the forum members all the designs will have a tshirt example.

Thanks.

Kamran
07-20-2004, 02:36 PM
Hey again,

Carl - Thanks :)

Jason - I meant move the logo to the right, it was already on the left - really sorry about that! :) Also is there anyway to have a bigger gap, between the logo and the "TWO" text. Also could you have the url centred under the "TWO" text if possible?

Thanks.

Just J

"No, your other left!!!" ;)

Man, its been AGES since I've entered anything ... but this is right up my alley.

Please consider the following design. The artwork is from a fully licensed collection that I use on tees at work all the time. The design is two colors - white underbase and orange. The shades of white and orange you see are halftones. Spot color seperations.

Thanks for lookin! Thanks for your consideration!

Hey,

Elemeno^P - Looks good, no other alterations I can think of.

Liz Good start, I noticed theres grey in there as well - wouldnt that make 3 colours? You could remove the grey "TWO" letters from the background of the logo, but not sure what you could do with the bottom of the boots, which are also in grey. The url should be www.TalkWrestlingOnline.com and could you try having the logo above the url? Also if possible could you put it on a tshirt like the others have?

Thanks.

Liz

The grey would actually be white on the shirt. When the screen printer goes to print the film for that color they should be able to make the white a halftone - in those areas the white would actually be made up of little dots that, when printed, and when viewed from a distance, would appear to be grey.

As soon as I get into work I'll post the changes. Sorry about the URL mix up, I put this together late last night!

Thanks for the feedback,

Liz.

Hi,

I prefer the 2nd of the two designs there, could you still try and remove the "TWO" from the background of the logo, as I think it will stand out more that way?

Thanks for putting them on the tshirts :)

Just a final reminder - deadline is Sunday.

After that, I'll be showing the various designs to the rest of my forum, and gain some feedback from them - and I'll announce the winner by the following Sunday. (Depends how quick they are to respond)

Thanks everyone.

Hey,

After much discussion about the various designs, the forum members decided on a design that they would like to use, although they require some alterations.

So thanks to everyone that entered, I got some really positive feedback about the designs – well done all.

But there can only be one winner, and that’s Jason, with the following design:

http://www.designoutpost.com/forums/attachment.php?s=&postid=93610

Jason – if possible, I would like you to try and make a few alterations to it (separately), then I’ll go back to the forum members with a few variations of the design, and let them pick a favourite.

Some suggestions:

- Could you do one without the logo
- Try adding a square around the TWO text
- Try having some kind of small image with it = no idea what though
- Anything else you can think of! :)

Basically I’m trying to compromise between the forum members who thought it was too simple and those who loved it – difficult trying to please everyone!

…so if you could do various designs using that as your base, the more the better, I can then go back, and hopefully get a design that most members will prefer.

Hope that’s OK – and thanks everyone again.

Hi Kamran,
Thanks very much for choosing my design. Lets start off with taking out the logo and putting a box around the TWO.
As for a different image, I'm not real sure what type of image would fly. If any of the members of your forum have any ideas I'd love to here them. :D

Thanks Michael :)
