[Project Complete] text logo for extreme asphalt

I am looking for a text logo for a new company called Extreme Asphalt.

Their business includes paving and excavating. This logo will apear on trucks, shirts, and proposals.

The logo needs to be bright, easily readable, and stand out.

Colors- try to incorporate some of these: Red, Yellow, & Orange, Neon Green.

Definitely use BLACK as one of the main colors.

Logo style- Retro, Loud, & Obnoxious.

Im looking for a logo by July 23.

Here's my entry. The concept is based on an arrow or may be even a road sign I see in the "EXTREME" part of your company name. Road construction ahead, detour? :rolleyes: Please let me know what you think.

Thanks to all who are posting. Logos are better than I could imagine. This is why I love this site.

ADDITIONAL INFO-
1. I plan to make a logo decision by next weekend. I know its a tight deadline.
2. In the construction industry, your trucks are your best advertisements. Logos must be easily readable and stand out going 60 miles an hour down the road.
3. Right now we have a mixture of a black and white truck fleet. Need a logo that could work on either.
4. Crews will either be wearing black or grey shirts.

FEEDBACK-

My 2 favorite logos so far are Samoyloff and Shnickerdoodle studios.

Samoyloff- I like the E. Maybe extend the yellow arrow to the boarder edges. The rest of the logo is very busy and boxy.

Shnickerdoodle- Lets expand on the green logo. Think about how to put it on a charcoal grey or black surface. Also, could you invert the word asphalt (Green oval, black letters).

Bug- the x reminds me of extreme makeover. However, I do like that the logo is bold. I could read it going down the road.

Radical Seed- It's too much like Ferrari's logo. I love their font, but dont want to copy their logo.

Arron- The truck in your picture looks older. Would prefer an text logo.

MBleigh- I do like the retro look but I think the font would be hard to read going down the road.

Feedback for fabian, hheine and taldo-

Fabian- I like the reflective idea, but the logo isnt obnoxious enough.

HHeine- I do like the text for extreme but the logo doesnt seam to flow.

Taldo- I like the color choice and readability but not the logo.

samoyloff- good revisions; nice simplified logo.

Shnickerdoodle- my idea for the logo on black is to use a reflective substance (or white) where you have grey. Let me know your thoughts.

Also, can you tuck the lower right tail of the X behind the oval.

Let me know your thoughts on the green oval w/ black text vs. the black oval w/ white text. We are painting all of our trucks black.

The white does look better than the grey. When I stuck it on the truck I thought it could stand out more with an orange added in with the green. So I've given you a couple of options to go with there.
