WOW! This is a great site. I have enjoyed looking at all the talented work here. You are a great group of designers!

I own a retail store and I am planning a sign campaign for the Christmas season. We are a beach store, selling cards and gifts related to the beach and the beach lifestyle. We sell everything from cards to home decor. We are a general gift store three blocks from the Huntington Beach pier in Orange County California.

My theme is: "Retro Beach-O-Rama Xmas".

Here is my retail store's website, so that you will know what we do:

http://www.cagreetings.com

The colors of my trees and ornaments are lime green, pink, turquoise, purple, and silver.

These trees will have surfboard ornaments, sealife ornaments, mermaids, '50s retro ornaments, tiki ornaments, cocktial ornnaments.

Here's a very poor pic of a small christmas table that gives you an idea of the colors:

http://www.cagreetings.com/images/trees.JPG

And here's a pic of the front of the store now:

http://www.cagreetings.com/images/flipflop.JPG

Here is the website for my city so you know what kind of place this is:

http://www.hbvisit.com/

So I need a logo for a sign that will be used as a 2' to 3'' x 4' to 5' and may be diecut. Also I will use it as smaller signs throughout the store.

The key thing here is to capture the theme, do not be afraid of color because we aren't, and to HAVE FUN!!!!!!!

This sign will illustrate our whole Christmas theme. We are a fun store. People laugh and have a good time when they are here.

It doesn't need to be very Christmas-y at all.

The fee is $100. The deadline is 8/4.

As for the file formats:
- Scalable Vector – black & white, grayscale and full color.
- JPG, GIF, BMP, TIF, PSD
We would like a burned copy of all the files and fonts be sent to us after the contest is completed.

Are you looking for an advertisement for your Beach X-Mas theme or a logo for the whole store? Sorry, I'm easily confused

I'm looking for a
"Retro Beach-O-Rama Xmas" sign/logo to post with a very large Christmas Tree and ornament display, to use also on smaller signs thtoughout the store.

I'm sorry if I didn't make myself clearer.

I like it, the fonts you used are in the vein of what I was thinking. I like the surfboard too.

My trees are going to be PINK and LIME green so I think the tree is too traditional-looking. Maybe if the tree had shades or board shorts or something,

Christmas doesn't really have to be a prominent part of the sign.

But good.

I like this look.

I like everything about this except the Christams Tree.

I like the Palm background, the snowflake waves, the surfboad.

I'd actually like the logo emphasized more.

I also would like stronger colors than the muted blues and pinks.

Really good work so far.

I like the fonts and the colors, I'm not crazy about the image of the surfing palm tree, although I like the idea behind it.

I want the illustration part I guess to be a bit smaller. I don't like the Xmas bulbs, maybe if they were tiki lantern.

I think I'm maybe looking for more retro/Shag/RockScissorsPaper type look.

Do you want me to try a completely different idea and forget about christmas trees, or you just don't like this particular tree? If you don't like this exact one, please let me know what's wrong with it? :)

I think it would be best to forget about the tree. If you will look at my previous comment above, you will see that I am thinking more in the RETRO vein, a SHAG/RockSCissorsPaper look.

Teetee:

I like the fonts, but as I have said above I am looking for more emphasis on the RETRO part of the theme.

Hello I 've decided to go alittle "I Love Genie-esque", a much lighter feel with retro implied. Thoughts appreciated

I like the girl, it's more of the retro look I was looking for, but it's not still quite what I was thinking of.

Please gclick on the link I'm giving to see the retro look I'm looking for.

Sam,

that is very very close to what I am looking for.

Couple of things:

1. At first I didn't notice that the circles were xmas bulbs, if you could do something to make them a teeny bit more noticeable as bulbs.

2. Would you mind trying it in some other color schemes? A green, pink or a blue, maybe?

I like it a lot nvoke.

I don't like the fonts though. They are too hard to read. Also maybe play with the format. There are three rectangles from top to bottom. maybe try something a little different.

I like the colors, but I'm not liking the fonts so much anymore. I also don't like the xmas tree included with the palm trees.

Maybe try just the palm trees, with ornaments hanging from them.
