Contest end: August 6th

Hello all,

I've seen some amazing work in the few that I've reviewed and I'm looking forward to seeing what you can produce for me.

The company: We are a startup computer and network solution provider. Our target audience are small to mid sized business owners who are often terified of technology.

I'm looking for sharp, technical looking logo that says we're in the networking industry even if the text is removed. I'd like to place the phrase "Network Solutions" somewhere on the logo. Here's an example of a logo that uses with a technical image.

http://www.tsassociates.net/Samplelogo.gif

I like the use of the ethernet symbol in the background and the use of color over consulting.

For a future project, I have an idea for a flash animation that would fly by the following phrases:
Technical Support
Techicnal Security
Technical Solutions

These would most likely fit better with the letter head, web and business card I'll be doing, but feel free to use them in some fashion to play off of the TS in the name.

Colors: Moss, Olives, tans, I like the earth tones. Feel free to play with the colors if you think something else would be more effective.

My current web site (don't laugh, it was cheap) can be found at http://www.tsassociates.net. I will be submitting for a site in the very near future.

Thanks and I look forward to seeing the outcome.

Hi Deanna,

I like the font you used in solutions, but don't care for the lines or the blocky TS. Would it be possible for you to use the globe or one similar to the Bennett Avionics logo you did?

I'd like to place it to the left of the company name, fading the right side of the globe at about the half way mark or just over it. I'd like to run a line off of the top and left of it following it's curve, and come straight off under the name.

As it leaves the globe, fade to more of a water mark and add the lines and boxes similar to my sample above. Take them out about 1/4 to 1/2 inch past the end of the name.

For the name, use same font for all, placing a space between TS and associates. Leave associates lower case.

Under the line, centered on the name write "network solutions" smaller than associates.

What do you think?

Thanks,
Darren

Anyone else want to take a stab at this? Feel free to try an image of people standing in silouette signify the "associates" part of the name. I'm open to any other ideas you may have. I need minds like Deanna's, that are more creative than mine on this.

The more the merrier!

Thanks,
Darren

I like the first one. The three amigos have go though. The first thing that popped into my head was the theme song for mission impossible.

I'd like to try taking the line out of the T. Can you show it to me in a few different fonts? In this latest iteration it strikes me as too sharp or blocky.

Also, can you try reducing the width on the boxes to make them more square?

Thanks

Great stuff

Taldo - That is a great design. I'm a bit concerned about it scaling well to a business card though. I particulary liked the use of the color over the ts, great seperation while leaving it like the Domain name. The use of uppercase in network solutions is a nice touch. Can you put up a few more using other earth tone colors? An example of a business card would be nice to see.

Deanna - I think I'm liking the times new Roman, or century style fonts for the name and an arial type font for Network solutions. Also, can you remove the shadow?

The network symbol on the bottom two is looking pretty crowded. Go ahead and play with colors a bit as well. Do you have any other ideas for the globe concept? for instance lines instead of continents?

Thanks
Darren

All, I'd like to see some of your concepts use Technical Solutions in place of network solutions. Haven't decided

Jason - My first glance at the symbols made me think it had a meaning I was unable to distinguish. Any other concepts?

Deanna - I like the square map you used, but would like to see more emphasys placed on North America - don't want them to think that I'm a Peruvian company. ;) Also can you change the colors to use a dark rust like color with light and dark grays?

Taldo - I like the design. The original colors are the best. Can you try a few other color sets? Let's keep it to a two color pattern. Also intersted any other concepts you might have for the use of TS.

Raja - nice work out at Bliss. looking foward to your ideas.

Thanks all. Just let me know if you need any thing.

Here's my entry :)

JustG - I like the simplicity of it.

Mark - I like the text layout, but don't care for the box and line. I see what it portrays, but my customers most likely won't. Any other technical looks in mind?

Deanna - looking back at the business card layout, I'm thinking it's a pretty generic corporate looking image. I'm not sure where to take it.

This morning I'll be having some people review the ideas that have been submitted. I'll get some feedback out again early later today or early Thursday Pacific time.

Thanks,
Darren

I'd like to try a couple things with your designs.

I've decided to go with "Technical Solutions" rather than Network.

Can you take the first entry and make it a two color using a solid shade on the circle and box over TS, then use a little darker color on associates?

On the second design, can you fade the rectangle to white on the circuit board side? I'd also like to play with combinations of Helvetica fonts, using variations of it on all text. I'd like to see it in a couple different color schemes as well.

Thanks,
Darren

Can I get you to put up a couple variations for me?

I'd like to see one with the TS as they are, and the remaining text done in Helvetica variations.

I'd also like to see another with all text, including TS (Helvet. Heavy?) in the same font.

Please change the Network solutions to Technical Solutions.

Thanks

I dont' really care for the three dots with lines. I'm focusing on the simple, unique logo and balance that Just_G hit on. Any ideas that fit in that foot print?

I'm going to leave this open until Monday. I'm unavailable from about 10:00AM PST Friday to late Sunday. I will be sure to post any comments Sunday evening.

Thanks,
Darren

Michael,

Yes there will be some minor revisions. I'll need to see the format I've requested in the specific colors. I'd also like to see a version with slightly increased space between TS and associates.

HI G,

No problem on the selection. I like it a great deal. Did you get a chance to add a bit of space between the TS and the associates? I'd like to see the final version before we call it good.

You'll have to pardon my graphical illiteracy, what's an EPS file? Can you please also send me the files in a few other formats? Gif, Tiff, and .....whats the other... often used for banners etc.?

Would it be possible for you to attach a couple small gif files, one with just the icon and another with the icon minus the arrow? I'm thinking for use on web UI buttons.

Thanks for everything,
Darren

Just_G

I already a change to add a bit os space between the TS and associates.
Please look at the attachment.

as long as i know, The EPS file is standart vector format graphic (could open with vector grahics software like Adobe illustrator, Coreldraw , freehand etc). You could make another graphics file format with this EPS without lose quality. If you want to make the Leter head or anything else you could use this file too.

Because i don't know what size of your banner, i will wait for this to make Gif and Tiff. The EPS could be handle of this.

No Problemo... I will make it latter after you accept the revision.

I'll be posting a job for my web site in the next few days. I'll also be posting one for my business card, letter head, envelopes, and two advertising flyers.

Thanks again!
