We are a custom invitation/announcement/card company and do most of our designing with different types of papers fabrics and ribbons. I am really stuck on coming up with a logo that captures the creativity, attracts attention but is a bit universal in that it leaves flexibility to branch out into different veins of fine art works. Also need it to be versitile enough for both color and b/w printing. I am looking for something that really grabs your attention when printed on something big or small that makes you want to look at what all we can do.

Some of the things we have used thus far are oval shaped silver foil stickers with dk blue print for the backs of the cards, however they seem to clunky and it needs to be more pristine for the back of a wedding invitation or birth announcement.

thanks so much and I can't wait!

So...company name is Dynamic Creations? Any tag line? How about a website that we can take a look at?:)

I was trying to make something that would look professional printed on the back of a card, and this is my solution:

ElKootcho- yes, the company name is Dynamic Creations! (with the exclamation point) I am in the process of getting a site, but it's not up and going yet. I could scan in some samples and upload if that would be helpful. Tag line we have been using is Custom Designs for You, but I wouldn't be too heartbroken if we revised it a bit.

Jason- I like the font, but the graphic looks familiar for some reason, and it is a bit too cold, maybe something a bit warmer. But I do like the simple.

mbleigh- Really like this font, not wild about the graphic, again need something with more feeling, maybe longer across the top of the words? just a thought.

thanks everybody!

Another variation of the "DC" :)

dynamic

Jason-

I like the new variation, but it needs more of a hand drawn, but elegant feel. I checked out your site, and if you can get the rougher edges, but smooth lines like you did for the Michael Roth one, we will be much closer.---love the use of the D&C. Possibly even do a mid-range font on the Dynamic word, to tie the Creations! font with the more hand done graphic?
....just not quite there yet....I feel like something is still missing....

Wasn't sure what you mean with the font, so I took a shot. :)

hi.. a concept...

Hello,
Wow, what a nice and cacthy name. I really like that, but to the point...

I have come up with the idea of crossing two parts of the name ; crossing them at the letter "A" to be exact. What was intensional, was to place them assimetrically to be far from a static composition, and to make it intriguing as if those words were in constant move inside the box, still finding its right place, and without being sure where it will be... just the same as all creatives do ... :)
All the best to You , and waiting for suggestions,
P.

Hello Everybody!

Thanks for all the responses!

Jason- Just not quite right, it's too rough--other extreme, almost incomplete. I need something with a softer feel, more elegant I guess. These are just to techno I'm thinking. May need to try a different route with the DC. Please add the exclamation mark too. thanks!

Taldo- I love the exclamation point & color! I would like to see this one in a couple different fonts, leaving the rest as is, maybe even a more 'scrolly' type font for the dynamic, and leave the creations as is?

Alexander- I like the top one! Could we try maybe a paintbrush instead of a pencil? I would also like to see it just as the letters, without the head & pencil or brush. & Maybe even a view with the letters off to one side of the words? Not really crazy about number 2. thanks!

P- Great thought! Very different! Couple of things, not crazy about the red, lets try more of a purple. I think I would like to see it with the "A" going the right way in Creations, or maybe not necessarily correct in either word...?? Lets also try a different font, I don't want clients to think all I do is color by number with stencils. Great business card!! that will really be something people will remember since it is so unusual! love it!

Bogglins- my first response to the first entry was that it just isn't what I am looking for, it looks too much like a bullseye to me. But I like it a bit more down below as the mono-color, so maybe if we try a different set of colors like blue & yellow or purple & orange we'd be better off. And if we could try without the tail on the back maybe that would help. Sorry to say this is my least favorite so far though, but I really do appreciate the entry!

Wow,....how in the heck did I come up with this idea? I started out trying to make an abstract "d" and "C" and it ended up like this. I think the abstract lettering is still there, however, I think the red circle in the midst of the black ones symbolizes dynamics as well as creativity.

Let me know what you think.....

As te revision, i wanted to push the identity a step forward. first of all, i`ve changed the font into serif one. why not. it really fits here i think. I also have made an approach to papers, thinking, it would be really great if each person in your company would have unique business card. as i usually, design predictable , clean, stable identities, this time i wanted this in a chaos which is under control. creative chaos. i did not want it just like any other buisiness.
pls, tell me you thoughts on this.

a quick idea I had, somehting dynamic with hints of the D and C letterforms using card like objects...I think it could use a ribbon or two...maybe a butterfly?

Buginajar- Looks too much like a roller coaster to me, but I do really like how you used capitals in the lettering.

Samoyloff- Like him better with the pencil, the brush looks like another head almost. I am trying to think of a way to make the pencil not so hard lined, smoother like the DC--ideas?

P- like it this way! I will see what the survey says--first reactions though are that it is hard to read.

Raja- on the first submission with the jumping cards (thats what they look like to me anyway!) I am having a hard time picturing it on the back of a card, I can't see the cards as a stand alone with the words & not the blue.
Second submission I really like! it looks like it could be a sculpture outside our building! but same problem, I'm having trouble picturing it as a stand alone with the words.

Carlos- like the first idea, but too plain, maybe a different font?
Second one just doesn't do it for me, I'm sorry!

Thanks everyone! I am looking to have this decided in the next couple of days, but will definately give a 24 hour warning! Appreciate all your hard work!

Alexander- Like it! Just need to add the ! to the end of Dynamic Creations

Taldo- Great font! Can we make the creations a bit darker? Not jumping off the page, but a bit more contrast between that and the shaded box.

Raja- I've thought more on the D-C monogram, and I think if we can get a different font for the words, the symbol is really growing on me! could I also see it in b&w?

Alex C. - Interesting! would like to make the words a bit more in proportion with the DC and see how that looks. thanks!

Thanks! Denise

I am ending this contest and declaring Taldo the winner.
:woot:

Thanks everyone for all the wonderful submissions! There were several that I really liked and this was a hard decision! You are all very talented!

Taldo thank you so much for the design, it really captures my personality along with the look I was going for. I will need to know the names of the fonts used, the 3 color patches/samples, as well as have a greyscale copy of the design.

If you could also include both versions of the exclamation mark in greyscale and color (as you did at the bottom of the original submission) that would be fabulous!

I will need a copy as a .pdf, .tiff, & .jpg.

THANKS A MILLION! I have been trying to get this nailed down forever!
