Hello, everyone! You guys and girls do such great work! I’m very much looking forward to working with you all. Here’s my stuff:

Community of Hope is looking for a New Logo Design (“Sports” style) for our Small Group Ministries. The new logo will be used in a variety of media, but will first be used on a Sports T-Shirt.

Our color choice for the shirts is Navy for the sleeves and Heather/Gray for the body of the T-Shirt.

We will be using a logo like this on the front (the colors displayed are the official church colors, but I would like to go with different colors like navy, dark gray, white, and maybe yellow (our official yellow is hexadecimal fee600).

The Proposed Project…
Here’s a description of the New Logo (back of shirt) that I wanted designed:

1) In a block lettering on top of the shirt, I would like the words “SMALL GROUPS” (similar to how sports players’ names are displayed)

2) Below, I would like the number “4” in large type (like a player’s number) – this is to reference the four dimensions of our Small Groups (Love, Serve, Grow, Reach). I would like those 4 words in the logo with the Bible verse Reference only (no verse text, just reference). Also, some kind of logo design that each of the four areas can be easily identified with if they were separated from the group. Here is a description for each:

- Love (Phil. 2:1-4) “If you’ve gotten anything at all out of following Christ, if his love has made any difference in your life, if being in a community of the Spirit means anything to you, if you have a heart, if you care – then do me a favor: Agree with each other, love each other, be deep-spirit friends. Don’t push your way to the front; don’t sweet-talk your way to the top. Put yourself aside, and help others get ahead. Don’t be obsessed with getting your own advantage. Forget yourselves long enough to lend a helping hand.
-Serve (I Pet. 4:10) “Be generous with the different things God gave you, passing them around so all get in on it:”
-Grow (Col. 4:12) “…that you may become mature Christians and may fulfill God’s will for you.”
-Reach (Acts 1:8) “What you’ll get is the Holy Spirit. And when the Holy Spirit comes on you, you will be able to be my witnesses in Jerusalem, all over Judea and Samaria, even to the ends of the world.”

Thanks so much everyone! I’m look forward to your creative designs!

Welcome to the D.O. Chris,
I have a few questions for you: will the Community of Hope logo be required on the design, or was that just for reference to what will be on the front?
With the multiple requirements, are the number of colors open?
Lastly, do you have a deadline for this project?

Thanks,

Aaron

Hello Aaron,

Thanks for the questions...this is my first time doing this.

The Community of Hope logo is not required its just a reference point for you to know what's going on the front of the shirt.

Pleas use colors and design ideas that you think are best. I don't want to hinder anyone's creativity - so, you're best idea is what I want.

As far as a deadline is concerned...how about 2 weeks or so?
Is that possible?

Thanks again,
Chris

That should be fine Chris... I'll get to work and see what I can come up with.

Hi Chris,

Let me know if this is headed in the right direction... it seems a little complex for a logo, but the separate elements would work just fine.

Hey Aaron,

I had a chance to show it to some of the staff today and we like it! We think it is clean and simple, just what we wanted. And, with Photoshop I will be able to adjust the colors if need be to match our in-house church products and media publications.

I have a question and a couple of requests:

1) I wanted to put our website address on the back of the T-Shirt with your logo. What would you suggest would look best in terms of placement, font, etc.? Our website is www.communityofhope.org

2) Could I get a version of the logo without the number "4" that is more compact; for example, having the words "Small Groups" flattened and resting on top of the 4 colored boxes - so that the logo space is in a rectangular shape?

3) Also, could I see a variation where the 4 boxes would be joined together in one big square?

We like your design. If it is possible to get 2 slightly different versions for our various publications that would be great. Also, how high of resolution could I get and in what format will it be? We'll probably use it in small print and web stuff, but also on large banners/signs. Thanks for your input.

Glad you like it Chris... as for file size and resolution, you end up with more files than you'll probably ever need. I give you EPS file formats in full color and black and white, which are designed for professional printing and things like T-shirts, promotional items, etc. You also get several file formats designed for web usage, both color and black and white, as well as several more formats designed for printing on your inter-office printer. You'll get the original Adobe Illustrator files to play around with too.

I'll work on these revisions and post the designs a bit later. If you want to specify some colors for the different fields, please let me know and I can do it on this end. I don't want to make more work for you.

Thanks Aaron! Everything sounds good. As far as color - for the T-Shirts I'll need the "turquoise" type of color to be a navy blue. Other than that everything should be fine.

Aaron, it looks great! One of our pastors would like to change a couple of the references, but other than that we'll take all 3 variations. Details below...

Could you change the "Love" Bible reference to...

Rom. 12:10-13

Could you change the "Grow" Bible reference to...

Eph. 4:15

Hey Aaron,

Everything looks fine. You can go ahead and finish the hi-rez stuff, copies, etc. Let me know if you need anything else from me at this time. If not, I'll wait to hear back from you. Also, if the files are too big for email I can pay to ship a CD or something. Thanks!

Hi Chris,

That's great, I'm glad you like the work. I'm getting ready to have this final versions done, but if you're happy with this design(s), I need you to say something in this thread about choosing my design, or that I win, or whatever ;) . What that does is it cues the moderators that I'm getting ready to send over the files and we make the transaction.

Make any sense?

Thanks,

Aaron

Hi Chris,

I just went through my files and noticed how badly they saved as multiple file formats... go ahead and trash those and I'll regenerate them.

Sorry about that!
