Welcome to Design Outpost, Janet. Are you going to be using your logo on print materials or stictly on the internet? For any print materials, signage, vinyl car signs, silk screened shirts, etc. the best file format is a vector EPS. They are able to contain spot color and can be enlarged to billboard size without loss of clarity. JPG cannot do that.
Just so you are aware, our designers will deliver your final file in multiple formats including EPS, TIF, and as you requested, JPG. So, if there is even the slightest possiblity that you may ever produce any of the above materials in the future be sure to get the EPS files as well. It will likely save you big headaches and expenses down the road.

Dear Samoyloff,
This design is close to what we had in mind. .Can you change the name to a dark navy colour on a lighter background .?Or even if the words Petes Pools were no as fat ...shall leave it with you....
What we want is something very modern, stark and to the point...very corporate...... As we are in a country city we want to show the way so to speak.....

We really like the logo posted by samoyloff. The bottom variation
of the selection of 4 is what we would like as it is but without the border.....

Janet,
Here's the updated logo. The border was for presentation purposes only. To be honest, I am a little confused, reading your message over and over again, and still not sure if that means I'm the winner or not.. Sorry - English is not my language. You need to declare who's the winner, and then the designer you chose will provide final files in different formats.
Thanks,
Alexander.
