Hi,
I'm completely new to this, but very excited to finally get started on a new logo. Here is our website if you want to take a look and see what we are about. http://www.bayousome.com

Currently, we sell plastic bottles and jars to soap, lotion and other toiletries makers, but we think we would like to keep the logo non-specific to just containers. This will allow us to expand to different products in the future.

I will need this logo to have 10 or less colors/shades so it will look good in BW and in an embroidery format. No real deadline, but I have a convention in about 1 month that I would love to have embroiderd T-shirts for.....again, it isn't necessary to meet that deadline.

We are located near Atlanta Ga, but our background is Louisiana which is why we chose the name.

I'm not sure what else to include here, so feel free to ask any questions.

Looking SO forward to this!
Cindy Griffith

Here we go!

Thanks Bill, but no containers in the logo please. I'd like to keep the logo generic which will allow me to expand into other products besides containers. I like the wording; bottles, jars, containers, because it tells what we are about, yet I can trim that out later if I have too.

The crawfish is nice....can I see it used as the "y" in BayouSome? And change the font to go along with the crawfish a little better.

Designers, Cindy has added $50 to the amount offered and I have edited the thread title to show that new amount.

Good luck! :)

Bill, the crawfish makes it a little hard to read for folks who are new to the BayouSome name. I'm sorry. I'm also looking for earthy, swampy colors. Oh, I'll need to include the ".com" that you had in the first graphic.

Paula, I'm not wanting to include bottles in the logo so I can expand into different products w/o completely changing the logo. I like bottles, jars, containers in the small print that I can trim off at a later date if I need to.

Julie, I like the idea of having a light graphic behind the wording, but I think I need something less food related (that is a pepper, right?)

Thanks for your efforts so far everyone! I'd like to add that my husband suggested we go more for the swampy, bayou (but serene) look. Maybe a herron (bird) or cattails, old wooden sign type stuff. Some other things that come to mind are live oaks, palmetto palms, spanish moss, but these may get too complex.

:) It's an alligator, but that's all right--obviously, it's not clear enough. I'll get back to the drawing board!

Thanks for the fast reply! I can go swampy, bayou with the logo! I will have something for you later.
Thanks much! paula

 That's more of what we are looking for....I love it Paula! I love the colors too. We'll need for it to say ".com" after BayouSome. And I'll give the font some thought as well.

Hi,
Thanks for the feedback!
I added yhe .com and gave you a variation of the logo.Let me know if you want to see some different type styles.
Thanks,Paula

Nice, Aaron, but not "it". The name just doesn't pop out at you set inside the circle. I think the bird needs a little more realistic color. I like the way the head is outside the circle though! I'd like to see some other stuff from you!

Paula, this design is really growing on me. I still like the top design and happy that you added the ".com" Can I see it with Forte font and with the "B" larger than the other letters and the "S" larger as well. I'd prefer the wording underneath to say "bottles. jars. containers.

Thanks,
Cindy

Paula,
I think I'm ready to move this into revisions stage. How do I do that?

Okay!

I'm still deciding on the font. My friends like the original font. I think it really stands out too...but maybe the Forte font in lower case except for the B and S in upper case? Let's see what that looks like. I may stick with the original font that you used. For the wording under the design, can I have a dot or some other "thing" to seperate the words? Yeah, maybe something other than a plain dot.

My husband likes the round design you made. I kinda like it too and think it would be much easier to have for an embroidery design. Can you think of something you can do to it to make it look better....hard for me to explain!

Hi, Here are the edits. I adjusted the 'Forte" type to upper/lower case.I added a color change and shadow on the round logos "Bayousome"and gave you the "Forte" typeface and the original typeface, ironically entitled "Seabird" ( I like the Seabird type the best:D on either logo) I also prefer the original logos layout.
I also added little diamonds between the type at the bottom. That can be changed if you like.
Thanks,Paula

I still like the first image, but with the Forte font. So let's not go any further with the round image. I like the diamonds between the wording and definitely think the brown is just perfect. :) The only thing that bothers me about the design as it is, is the "u" behind the birds head. I think it may be hard to recognize as a "u". I love that the head overlaps into the name, so changing that it not an option. Any suggestions to make that "u" a little more visible or am I overanalyizing it?

Thanks!
Cindy

I see what you mean by the "u" I can adjust that . I'll post a revision soon.:)

How's this?
I wasn't sure if you wanted the font in all caps. or upper/lower as shown.
Thanks,Paula

Thanks for the quick response! Now it looks crooked though. Can we try the lower case letters a little bigger maybe, but still not as big as the B & S. If we can get the "u" almost as big as it was when it was all caps, it might work.

Thanks! I'll check back in the AM.

Hmmm, can I see it with BayouSome.com all on one line. Let's see which letter falls behind the head. I really like the head overlapping the lettering.

Thanks!

Hi Paula,
I just can't seem to figure out what it needs. I knew the letters would be smaller in order to fit the .com on the same line, but I think it's too small. Let me think on this a bit. :)

Paula,
Can I see the upper design with lowercase letters, except the B and S.

Thanks!

Oh, and the lower design needs an uppercase S. I believe I will make a final design this time after I see your revisions.

Wow, this was difficult deciding! I choose the bottom design of the last revision. You did a wonderful job, thank you! You do some other awesome stuff as well! I was browsing some other threads and always seemed to pick your designs as my favorite!

Anyway, here's what I need (and let me know if I'm forgetting something I might need later on):

.JPG
.PSD
Grayscale if you have it (for B&W use)

Please send to service@BayouSome.com so it will go to several inboxes here.

Thanks, it was a pleasure working with you. :)
