I am looking to create a logo that we will use first on a small line of pet products and then on a website later. I am calling the line "Mary Canine" so I am looking to create the identity of "Mary". She is an upscale "Female Dog" with an "Urban Sophistication".
Mary should be in canine form and Pink is in her nature. She is a girl on the go and always in top fashion. She loves Burberry prints and other Natural colors.
Please help me in giving Mary a look and class like no other. I hope to make your work famous!

The best way I could describe Mary Canine is a breakfast at Tiffanies look. She needs to be a complete image from head to toe. She looks like an upscale sales lady from a major upscale department store or maybe the Channel counter. Her product line is similar to Mary K. She should be more of a Caricature but viewed in full body with a retail setting maybe?

I like the concept. I see the sweater and hair emphisis. I see the dog as being older and more sophisticated. Dressed in the finest fashion. I like the pink hair and black ears. I also like the text in this image as a signature. Maybe a small pawprint under the M? Thanks to everyone for the great effort so far. I will be raising the pay on this project to $150.
Again, thanks to the designers who have taken an interest to my new project!

How about this?

We planned to use "Mary Canine" for our pet product line; but unfortunately we are finding some legal issues with the name. So to avoid any lawsuits , we have decided to go with a new name.
"Gimme Paw" is the name. It's for a dog sweater line, bath and grooming products.
We are thinking of a logo that would work for the whole product line. Something creative, fun, with a touch of sophistication. (NO cartoons or stock imagery). Perhaps a simple stamp logo, (an icon) like an emblem along with the name spelled out.
To explain our direction is what you would see with:
The Body Shop
Aveda
Starbucks
Also, all our products must have a striking emblem and work together. One goal is to sell shrink wrapped gift baskets.
As far as the color. Something black and white (no greyscale); bold, creative, yet easy to reproduce. Instead of black, Olive or Cream may be used (one or the other, or maybe two color).
Thanks alot.

The icon is great,
perhaps a few more tries; fun icons...and much larger (the main focus)
not fond of the 'w' in the paw, it looks a bit off ; like an upside down 'm'.
Maybe a different typeface or modeling the text on curves or angles.
Not sure, just more powerful and dynamic; still classy!
on the right track...and thanks!!!

My idea for your logo:
A minimalist face made from the letters "g" and "p", to form the image of an upscale pooch wearing a monacle.
Your comments are appreciated.

Getting closer. Like the crispness of the looks.
The paw print has been over-used. Want to stay clear of trite or simple imagery
The monacle seems a bit male. Want something more unisex. However your logo is very creative.
The looks are great, but need a little more thought.....
thank you for the submission....we really appreciate it.
please be patient with us...
Why wouldn't you want to use a paw if your name is "gimme paw"? As a designer and a marketer, sometimes I don't understand the thinking when the name is a no-brainer for a memorable image...

Another idea for your consideration:
Literally, "Gimme Paw".
Please advise.

I would like to submit another idea.
Yes, it incorporates that "paw", but in a different way:
This dog symbol has his paw raised high,
as if to say: "Pick Me, Pick Me". :)
I've tried to keep in the theme of an elegant symbolic-type mark.
Please advise,
Kimber.

We seem to be having trouble deciding on what the heck we want! Thanks for being so patient!!!
I'm back to the mary canine idea. Seems legally we will be OK since Mary Kay does not sell pet supplies.
Mary Canine should be in the likeness of Audrey Hepburn. Very much a lady. I'd like to see her behind a sales counter and maybe even as a hair stylist or makeup artist.
This image will be on bottles of shampoo so the idea that Mary canine can help improve your image should be prominent.
I'm fine with cartoons.

Hello,
I like your dog. She looks like...dare I say it...a total *****!
Just what I want.
I'd like to see her in an environment if possible.
Anyway to give her some hair?
What does her body look like?
I love the eyebrow!
I'll look forward to more!
Thanks for your work.

I like your concept but they're a bit young looking. I like what cre8or just did recently.
I hate to give feedback as I don't want this to be personal!
I like more 3D images.
Thanks for your work though. I look forward to more.

Your image is fun but too trendy for what I'm looking for. I need very upscale, very "that way".
Thanks!

Thank you, Joseph, it's nice to hear I've piqued your interest.
I can see Mary's body, but not necessarily an environment.
If you want to peek back later, You can see how the whole ***** looks. ;)

I'll check back later. When I say environment I mean an atmosphere. I put the image of the salon in to see where Mary might work. This logo will go onto our new line of shampoo. I'm trying to show what Mary can do for you (the dog). Almost a before and after. Mary is a hairstylist or makeup artist maybe???
Thanks again!

Hi there Joseph,
Here's how I see Mary.
Now, I might be on the wrong page, but I saw Mary as a pampered poochie, kinda like if Elizabeth Taylor were a dog. I didn't really see Mary "working". I just saw her being "glamorous".
Please advise,
Kimber.

Great look. Yes! Yes! Yes!
Okay get your knuckles crackin'. We love your style for Mary Canine.
Here's what up- We want Mary Canine to be the spokesperson for "Gimme Paw" NOT the main identity. Gimme Paw is the pet products; shampoos, and sweater line.
Can you use your style with Mary Canine and apply the same look toward Gimme Paw. However we DO NOT want any characters with it. Gimme Paw should have fun, sophisticated, and punchy qualities, yet simple. It should look great on all the products being they will also be sold in gift baskets....PACKAGING! PACKAGING! PACKAGING!
We want to limit the colors to only two or one, because we are thinking of using an opaque white or ivory bottle for the grooming products.
The typefaces you used are great. Maybe another may lends itself more fiiting to the words Gimme Paw. Make your better judgement, design-wise; whatever looks perfect.
thank you, we feel we're half way there.
the 'Lizzie Poodle' character that is like Elizabeth Taylor is wonderful....we love.

I am so sorry, Joseph, I'm a little lost.
First you were looking for a logo for "Mary Canine",
then "GimmePaw" becuase of issues with mary Canine,
then back to "Mary Canine" because it was found to be okay...
Now... back to "Gimme Paw"?
This is what I've got so far:
Mary is the spokesdog for the product(s) "Gimme Paw".
So, are you now asking for a design for Gimme Paw, that reflects Mary's design, but does not incorporate her?
Sorry if I sound confusing, but like I said, I'm a little lost, here.
Please clarify.
PS. I'm pleased that you like "Mary" so much.

Hi Kimber,
Don't be sorry for being confused. We have to be very difficult to work with! I drive myself nutso as well.
Here's what's happening. I really like Mary Canine, but we could potentially have problems if she...Mary, is out in front. Mary Kay could get involved in law suits.
We also have Gimme Paw that we like as well and figured we could get away with Mary being our animated spokesperson, our Vanna White of sorts.
Gimme Paw will be the product line, Mary will be the spokesdog for the line. So I guess we are now incorporating both together.
Mary will not be on any packaging, just the website. The Gimme Paw logo will be on packaging. So the logo should be simply elegant. I'd be happy to contact you by phone if that would help eliminate some confusion!
Thanks again for helping us through this crazy time. I knew it would be a difficult endeavor. Just glad you guys are so patient!
Joseph

Hi Joseph,
Correct me if I’m wrong but are you asking for two separate illustrations, one as the logo (Gimme Paw) and another as a mascot (Mary)?
If so, the original brief were for one logo/illustration only, it would only be fair if asking for two illustrations that the amount offered were increased :)
Correct me if this was not what you were implying.

Nope, you're right. I had planned on raising the cost since we just decided to use 2 images. We have plenty late night brain sessions!
I'll update the cost to include 2 images.
Thanks for looking out for everyone Michael.

Hello Joseph,
Here's Mary with the product logos.
They're shown:
1. in Grey (on white) -- unisex design
2. in Blue w/ grey text (on ivory) -- for "boys"
3. in Pink w/ grey text (on ivory) -- for "girls"
I just though that some ruff-tuff rottweiler owner might not want to scrub his pooch with a frilly pink-logo-ed shampoo, therefore the two different 2-colour logos. (Imagine Mary as a biker-chik) ;)
Also, the "white" or the "ivory" isn't really part of the logo design, but rather represents the background item the logo might be printed on.
Please advise,
Kimber.

I have a morning meeting to discuss the products so I'm glad I saw this.
I love that you pointed out the fact that I myself own a 4# teacup dog and am also a proud ruff-tuff rottweiler owner, 110#'s
This line is moreso for the boutique of "Fluffy" dog, but you gave me an idea. Maybe Mary in Leather??? Just kidding. But I might get back to you on this. I see your also working on the flash job we put out there. I'm happy to raise the price on all these projects to compensate for the time involved.
Thanks!

I'm ready to make a decision about the logo. I now have the product ready and need to move forward and get this going.
I like Mary as Cre8or has designed. So I'm pretty set on her.
What I can't seem to make up my mind about is the logo. I like the type in the last Gimme Paw post. I like your idea Bill but the dog thing has been played in this industry. I just cam back from the industry show and I was shocked to see that all the products have a corny dog on them.
Here is a product line that I like for it's freshness:
http://www.happytailsspa.com
I'd like some other input into the logo. I need to move on it fast.
Thanks everyone.

Cre8or,
Let's try the words "Gimme Paw" on a dog tag.
I also want to finalize Mary Canine so I can award the prize.
The script box should say:
Mary Canine presents Gimme Paw
Thanks!

Hi Joseph,
Here's the dog-tag idea.
I didn't wnt to use the classic army-type dog tag... so I used a heart-shaped tag instead. (I know dog-tags come in heart shapes).
I've show a symmetrical and an asymmetrical option.
Whichever you may choose, the colour can be changed if you like.
I just showed them both in grey, one in blue and one in pink.

Here's Mary, presenting GimmePaw!
I chose to "hang" the symmetrical tag on the presentation box.
