Hello,
I'm a first time user here so bear with me. My name is Mike Tuziw and
I am a professional Photographer. I need a logo for my website and embroidery items(hats, shirts etc.). I specialize in nature and wildlife photography with some travel thrown in. My website is new but up and running. You can see it at www.aipics.com. My company name is Annabran Imagery. On my website the banner has the company name and a temp logo of a tree that will be replaced by what you design. so the company name and/or web address is not as important to be in the logo. (i feel like I'm rambling) When we use the the logo for embroidery we will also put the company name on it unless one of you comes up with a kick *** design that would be better.

We shoot alot of scenics as well as wild animals. Colors can vary and we really don't have a preference at this time. If using multiple colors remember that it will be embroidered on clothing too.

I would like to get this done quickly but am going on a shpot this weekend so I am placing a deadline of August 30 but this can be flexible if neccesary. For all this I am offering a reward/prize of $120.

Please help me make my company stand above the others and be able to say you knew me when I first started out, before I became a famous photgrapher!

I have friends who are photographers and their logo is something I really like. You can view it at their website http://www.imagesunique.com/
Thanks and I look forward to seeing your ideas.

Hello Alex,
Glad to see your work here. I like your idea with the mountains but have a few concerns. We will use this alot for embroidery on the clothes we wear when we are photographing(i.e. shirts, jackets, vest, ball caps) and don't know how well it will transfer. It may be to detailed in the mountains. I think all of that will get lost in the embroidery and look like a jumbled mess. Try lessening this.
The color is dark, maybe to dark. I don't want to be to drab, yet at the same time not to perky or colorful.
The moose is a good touch but after seeing the bears I have to wonder what it would look like with a bear instead of the moose? Try addding another color or two and maybe a banner at the bottom with Annabran Imagery or aipics.com. Don't make this to dominant though. I want the emphasis to be on the art work since that is what we are selling, nature and art prints

To Alex:.

I look forward to seeing your revisions and thanks for your ideas.

To all you other designers:

Alex has taken the first step, now it is your turn to try and match/better his design. I hope my feedback helps clear things up as to what I am looking for. I gave a deadline of August 30 but would like to be done before that if I see what I'm looking for.

We have been thinking alot about the possible design of our logo. We would also like to see some ideas with our company name incorporated within it but not dominating the design. Artwork is more important than name on this one. Our company name is Annabran Imagery and our web address is aipics.com but we are setting it up to be linked to it with annabranimagery.com also, so maybe that could be what you use. Sorry for the change midstream but if you already have something working without this we would like to see it too.

Hi Paula,
I didn't think you forgot me, but was starting to wonder if I would ever hear from anyone else. Hopefully this is just the start of a healthy competition.

As for the designs...

#1 of 2
I was looking for something with more of an artwork look to it. The "feel " of these isn't something I'm looking for. I don't exactly know how to say this politically correct so I'm just going to come out and say it... I'm a guy, a guy who will be out in the mountains, woods, etc. with other guys...with this logo on my shirts, hats, jackets, etc. I don't know that I would feel "comfortable" with this on my back while other guys are looking funny at me. I hope this doesn't offend anyone and if it does I apologize. I guess what I should've just said was I'm looking for something more masculine. :) :)

#2 of 2
As for these two, they may be too busy for embroidery. I will need to talk to the person who will be doing this work for me. I don't care for the fonts and colors of the first one but am more inclined towards the second one. They do have a bit more af an abstract look than I'm looking for. I was hoping for something with more of a wildlife look to it. Please check the website I mentioned in my original post for an example. I saw the work you were designing for bayousome and was impressed with it. That is more towards what I am looking for, the herron and reeds. I don't necessarily want that exact design, but a similar look and feel is what I had in mind.

My website is new and I still need to upload my pictures. There aren't too many examples on it so this might help... I primarily shoot landscapes with waterfalls and streams being my favorites. I shoot alot of wildlife too(grizzly bears, wolves, loons, fox, cougars, etc). I would like to incorporate both into my logo.

I hope this helps and I look forward to seeing from you.
Mike

Thanks for all the valuable feedback. I will use your suggestions and design frim that. I had went to your website and designed the second group loosely around that great photo on your homepage:yes: I will work on a more wildlife approach with the logo and post in a day or so. Thanks,Paula

Hi Paula,
Thanks for the quick reply. Just a little more feedback to help you. The colors you used on #2, the second version, are very good. I like the text and the color of the text too. As for the website, I can do with or without it. If you use it, use www.aipics.com instead and use the same font as the rest. As for the wildlife part, don't get too hung up on it being wildlife only. Try to combine the two if possible.

Oh yeah, thanks for the comment on my picture, I'm kind of partial to that one too. It is a great picture and liked by many.

Alex,
Use only one bear. The additional colors are good, but I am still concerned about it having to much detail in the trees and mountains for embroidery.

Welcome Eagle,
It is nice to see some new blood join us with new ideas.
I like the deer design and color but don't feel that it represents enough of my business. Too much emphasis is placed on just the deer. I think I understand why you had the sweeping "A" in Annabran but it makes me feel like it is a design for a hunting company and the only thing missing is a crosshair on the deer. Please don't let this discourage you from trying again.

I will look forward to seeing from you.

Alex,
Much better. I like the bear by the lake best. I would like to see it without the dark background. You can frame it with a border like that but without all the blue. Also would like to see it with a couple of different fonts... not so hard or block style, more artistic

Hello Paula,
First the designs with the fox. I don't like the size of the fox. I
feel like the fox dominates the logo too much. Shrink it down
please. I don't like it with the banner to its right and framed like
that. I prefer the text below it like the 3rd version. Also like the
fonts you used on the 3rd version. Would like to see it in a diamond shape
like you used on the first designs you sent me.

Now for the wolf design:tup:
I like this one. I"m not sure why you have the rear legs of the wolf
so dark but would like to see them the same color as the rest of its body. I don't know how I feel about the round frame though. Let's see it also with the diamond shape I mentioned above and as an oval. The last of the 3 is the one I am most interested in but use the same size font for the aipics line as you do for the fine art photography line.

Thank you for your interest. I am looking for something more with an artistic look to it, not something simple. If you still would like to give it a shot i would like to see what you come up with. I understand this might not be something you are willing to try and won't be offended if you don't.

Hi paula,
I would like to see the diamond wolf with the background you used for the fox also. Increase the font point on aipics.com to match fine art photography. Also try moving the wolf a little to the left so it is off center. What color is the lettering? It looks like a dark green to me (I like it).

Hi Paula,
Alright then. We like the last version you did with the wolf off centered to the left. What we would like to see is a version with the sky red instead of blue. Also a version as described above but with the gray mountains you did on the fox design placed where the green mountain is (on the left side of the wolf). In both versions keep the sun down like it is setting.
Any other ideas you might have to tweek this further are welcome.
Thanks, Mike

P.S. I will be on the site for awhile longer tonight looking for any comments you might have.

Yeah I know , that doesn't help much and probably confuses you. Maybe this will help. Take the two at the bottom with red skies and combine the two mountains with detail on them. The left mountain from the left one and the right mountain from the the right design. I hope this makes sense. My wife tells me sometimes my writing is confusing.

 I think we might have it. Lower right but use same font size for the aipics.com and fine art photography(the larger of the two). Can I also see it as a gray scale since we are considering that for a simpler version to embroider? My wife went to bed and I want to get her O.K. on it also, so I won't give a final O.K. until tomorrow night if that's alright.

I will need the final versions in Vector EPS, PSD and JPEG if you can do that for me.

I also need to know how we go about taking care of copyright issues. I'm new to all of this and hope I'm not overstepping my bounds. If I am please let me know.:)
Talk to you later, I'm going to bed now also.

OK, I'll wait to hear back from you tomorrow. As far as the type goes, the bottom line is actually larger than the 'Fine Art" line because it is all in lower case. I had to bring it up to match the 2 sizes. So which line would you like to go bigger? I would say "The Fine Art" line. I'll post 2 different sizes for you to choose from and you can let me know tomorrow night.
Thanks,Paula

Hi Paula,
I talked with my wife and we both agree that the font version you like the best, we like the best too(great minds think alike:) ).

As for the logo version, we noticed that you have two versions of the sun(size). If you go back to the previous post of 4 logos, we like the upper right hand version with the larger sun, however change the green mountain to the gray version...I hope this makes sense. If you are not sure you can call me if it helps to talk one on one instead of trying to guess what i'm saying (back to what my wife says about my typing being confuseing). Please watch the placement of the wolfs rearend so it doesn't look like the sun is coming out of it.:D

I think this should just about do it after we see the changes.

Hi Paula,

Looks Great!!

Just got one minor housekeeping on the logo. Just under the log on the right side, the blue river and green grass are running into the white of the border. can you please clean that up for us and then we will be done ...and thoroughly pleased!:) :) :)

Now about the copyright issue. how do we take care of this? i remember reading on the site before i started something about a form they have that you need to fill out? Does this sound right? please let me know.

I will wait to hear from you so we can close this out tonight once all versions are recieved.

Cleaned up. Sorry about that, things must havr moved during edits.:D
As far as the copywright goes,I have never actually signed a paper before but would be happy to do so. The only thing I would like is to be able to put your logo in my portfolio. You would own all rights automatically. Let me know what you want to do here.
Once you give this the go I will prepare the files. Where can I send the files to,and can you open a zip file. It's OK if you can't.
Do you want me to send the grayscale logo as well? Do you need the grayscale in all 3 formats(psd, eps, jpeg)?
I'll wait to hear back from you. Thanks,Paula

:notworthy You have down an absolutely wonderful job!! We have enjoyed working with you and thank you for your patience on doing all of our revisions. As for the copyright... this was something I read on the DO site and didn't know, so I asked. I don't really feal a need for it and am sure if I need it in the future you will provide it then so we don't need it now.

Feel free to use the logo in your portfolio...I can use all the free advertising I can get.:D

I'm not sure that I don't need both versions (color and grayscale) in all 3 forms, but it doesn't hurt to have it so please do send both in all forms, I guess that answers the next question about the grayscale version... yes we would like to have it also.

You can send a zip file to my wife's email : atuziw@us.ibm.com she will open it and burn copies for me.

Maybe we can talk later about stationary. Do you do this also and if so can I go directly through you instead of using DO? Can I also get a price quote on it.
