$125 Prize Money

Hey everyone!

We are in the process of building a large new retail computer store and training centre in Shepparton, Victoria, Australia.

We are going to be retailing most of the well known computer equipment and supplies, such as: Compaq, Toshiba, LG, HP, BenQ, Acer, Samsung, Sony, Seagate etc. to name a few.

We also have 2 training rooms with 16 training pc's in each setup for hire.

We will be dealing with the general public as well as some large corporate customers like the National Australia Bank.

We want a logo that is stylish, not boring, and supports our my way of thinking: customer service.

Be as creative as you want.

Name: ComputerMart
Business: Computer Retail Store and Training Centre
Colors: Anything really, but has to look GREAT on our company vehicle and business cards and letterheads
Look: Professional & Corporate

Please keep in mind that this logo is going to be used for Motor Vehicles, our building front, Business Cards and L/H, as well as other advertising and marketing items.

Shall we say the contest deadline will be 7 September 2004.

Knock my socks off....!!! ;)

Thank you Taldo and Bogglins for starting the ball rolling on this.

Taldo:
Good try mate. This is not quite what we are after. It is a bit plain looking. We are after something a little more out there, something a little more bolder.

Bogglins:
You are heading down the right track. Can you give us some different variations with the font, as it is too narrow. We would like something with more boldness to it.

A while back we had a contest for a logo. The winner was Mike (ElKootcho). This is the type of logo we are after. Unfortunately, we could not use this trading name as the department of consumer affairs said it was too close to another companies trading name, after they had already approved it.

Keep them coming people.

Hi Darryl,

The name of your company is quite long.. ComputerMart, that's why i used the font that a bit narrow... but still proportional.. you'll realize this once you applied that on a really small and really large items such as business card and signage... :)
we should be careful in choosing the font...

anyway, i'll post another fonts for you too see as an option...

actually, at this stage, the idea is to choose the logo, then the font... so, my question is.. should there be any revision to the logo that i proposed? or perhaps you're looking for another style?
please let me know.
thanks!
:)

Thanks for the new and revised logos.

customb: Interesting concept, even though it took me a while to work out what the image was. A person sitting in an LCD screen. If you could try something like that but more corporate looking.

Taldo: Im sorry to say, that does not appeal to us. I am trying to get away from this long narrow type image.

mark: While this is a nice try, that type of logo is very similar to a bank here in Australia. We would not be able to use it.

Would it help if we could break apart ComputerMart and have Computer then the Mart directly underneath it. That way you can shorten the words to bring it together so to speak.

If you would like to try another style, that would be good Peiter. We really would like something associated with PC's, Laptops or some computer related product that customers can relate to computer store.

Here are some logos that we REALLY like:

I dont mean to have actual people in them, but something other than a small design and and the words ComputerMart. We want something that gets noticed. Funky but not scary... Not so corporate and plain. As I said earlier, could you try and break apart Computer and the Mart, I hope by doing this it will give you more scope to work with.

Any thing you need please let me know.

Regards

Darryl

Hi Mark,

Thanks for entering.

We like that logo. Very nice! :cooldude:

I take it that it is a person carrying a monitor?

Can you possibly give us some colour variations as we are not sure which colours we are going with as yet.

Something with a blue and green maybe. Have a play around and see what you can come up with.

Good work mate.

It's actually representing 'customer care' and a computer/credit card being 'swiped out' of the store!

I'll work on some revisions if you're still interested. :)

Thanks for the speedy feedback! :)

Thanks for entering Radical.

That logo is great!!!!!

Some of the letters in the word computer look blended in together. Is this the way they are meant to be?

Would they look better with a small gap between them?

Also the letter O doesnt look right. It looks jagged in the center.

If you have a look at the grayscale sample on L/H bottom corner, you can really tell.

Other then that I love it.

Thanks for the feedback and the interest Darryl!:D

And good eye by the way, I guess I was still a bit sleepy this morning when I posted it. Here it is the fixed "O" and I have spaced the lettering out as requested.

Cheers.

Hi Radical,

Could you please move the word MART over to the left a tad so you can see the balance of the letter R in Computer. Maybe it could be moved so it starts under the letter P.

Thanks

Darryl

Is anyone else is considering throwing their hat into the ring for this contest, could you please make your intentions known.

Thanks people.

I gave your suggestion a go and also tried a more linear arrangement.

Hi Radical,

We like the last logo you designed in which you moved it to the left so you could see the R.

We would like to declare the contest over and declare RadicalSEED the winner.

Thank you Palmer and the designers for your time and efforts in our compitetion.

Radical if you could PM me, we can arrange the details.

Kind Regards

Darryl
