(Admin code added by Palmer - JA419390D)

Company name: Enterprise Network Services

Company profile: Engineer, Build, and Design Voice and Data Networks

Domain name: www.ensg.com

Scope of this project: Template design.

Mood or tone: Professional, clear, clean, and concise.

Colors: Currently - Red, Black, Grey, and White (any others that would look good?)

Websites you like and why: www.ipofficestore.com (this site has one of the same products that I carry - the Avaya IP Office phone system) - it appears to be very neat, organized, and professional. Layout is basic - but I like basic.

Deadline: September 15, 2004

-------------------------------

Page descriptions:

On each page it should include the following: View www.ensg.com for requirements of information, sections and links required on each site.

1. Home Page.
-News section with links to the full story details. ENS has about 40 stories - that can be categorized in 3 sections. Currently - the news section scrolls up at the home page- that is not preferred. Full stories should be hyperlinks that will open .pdf files or html either?
-A section for main information, maybe for a featured product/solution/special, or a featured news section. Please review current website - www.ensg.com - all categories on main page today - need to be represented on the new page that you will design.
-A section of main quick-jump links. See site for links.
-Copyright notice at the bottom of the page. Also - Avaya BP Logo needs to be on every Avaya products page. I would like our URL and phone number to be on every page somewhere

2. Store

-This should be a template for a store much like the www.ipofficestore.com site.
-This page provides information for the products offered in a list kind of format with a little detail blurb. Each product should be linked to go to a more detailed product page.
-Similar page for a single product/service, more detailed than the other with a section for price and/or sale price, paragraph and bulleted section for details, main picture, additional thumbnail pictures.
-For products on each of the detailed product pages there should be a “Buy Now” button and or checkout - you know the drill.

Other information
-All buttons should be done so that we can create more buttons if need be.
There should be the sale “star” notifying of a certain percentage reduction.
-The design with the main buttons as well as the main services should be flexible enough for us to add more if need be.
-Please use standard fonts for text content, and including all formatting in a style sheet would be preferable but not mandatory.
-All buttons and other graphics should be included in adobe illustrator or photoshop, as well as any jpg, gif images you might have used.
-The template should be in html, with style sheet attached (if exists) as well as any images such as buttons you might have used.

Final note: Just do the home page design. Don’t spend your time creating all the pages. Instead the winner will then finish everything up and make the products page.

We look forward to your designs.

Can you please confirm what ALL the deliverables are? I am a bit confused on exactly what you want when you say "The winner will then finish EVERYTHING"

There are two pages for this contest. One is the home page. The second is the product page. The overall design for the home page is sufficient to declare a winner. Then, the winner will make the product page as well. This is to save time so all entries don't have to include both pages.

EVERYTHING consists of the photoshop template, all images, and html conversion. Does that clear things up?

Hi.

Here are the revisions you asked for but please post future feedback in this forum.

Anne

Anne, Another thought. News & Events section. I would like to categorize the News & Events Section into product categories, for instance our company sells these products; Avaya IP Office Avaya Partner ACS Avaya Merlin Magix Avaya Definity/MultiVantage Wiring/Cabling Infrastructure Data Switches/Routers Each time we sell a product and or do a job for a customer - it can fit into one of the categories above. My thought - perhaps the news section can be divided into categories mentioned above? Events - can be a section unto itself - for instance - when a new release of a product comes out - I can make it known in the Events section - or if the company is doing an event - like golf tournament - I can announce it there. I would like a place for customers to be able to LOGIN with a PASSWORD - for return business - perhaps that can be represented on the home page. Search ability - would be good Lastly - I would like to have a tab at the top of the web page that says References (next to the tabs that you created like Home, Products, Services, About ENS, Contact Us, etc.)

Anne, BTW - can you put a logo on the home page for a STORE or a SHOPPING LOGO - that way people can go right to the STORE or the SHOPPING ability. Thanks. CW

(Sorry posted it as new - rather than a reply).

Anne,

One last suggestion.

Please eliminate the 'Featured Product' section.

Around the sections - IP Office, Partner ACS, and Merlin Magix - can you draw a gray box - similar to the 'Featured Product' section and for each box - place an image of the system or product?

I looked at another design that you did - Unico - towards the bottom of their page you have some products - gray boxes around them with images. Model it like that if you do not mind.

Thanks.

Also - we could probably put About US, Contact Us, Products, Services, etc - across the page horizontally rather than vertically - to free up some space on the page.

In addition - please remote the REFERENCE tab.

Lastly - 'Simple Solutions for Your Business' does NOT have to be so large (image and text).

Here's the revision.

I kept the main boxes white because of the images (with white background) so it will be easyer to update later. If you would like to se them with gray boxes I will change it.

Hello, i can improve my template if you think that i am on a good direction. I think maybe more graphics on the main column, some product thumbnails? (this is because i had a lot of time a white monitor in front of my eyes, and now is pretty late here).

I am adding 2 color pallete variants.

Great direction. I like the layout. Some pics/thumbnails would look great - please take a look at the previous design from Anne.

Thanks.

When you add the thumbnails - please make the page full size.

thanks, i'll work on the rest today... only that i don't understand what you mean by: "make the page full size" To make the width bigger? (760-780 px?)

Later edit:
Actualy the width is 760px, so i don't think this is the answer of my question (i was sleepy)

It just appeared that it wasn't a full page? Had lots of extra space on my screen towards the bottom.

customb

On 17" monitor with 1024x768 (what i use) the site height takes up the whole screen. Of course that if you have wider screen, or bigger resolution, you might get some white space on the bottom, because the site is aligned at the top, and has a certain height.

I'm working on the content now, and the page might gain in height. I'll post it in around 1 hour, let me know what do you think after that. If you still consider that you don't want extra white space in the bottom, i can code it to ocupy the whole screen in height, but this will mean that in case the content is not so much, you will have some white space between the footer and the last line.

On new version i will add also a footer menu.

looks great.

Two suggestions - Welcome to Enterprise Network Services - all the language after that can be deleted - I think it is too wordy - too much text on the page.

Second - I can always get you better pics for the Partner and Merlin stuff.

I really like it.

We can fine tune some things - but I think I am ready to roll on your design.

George - you took out the wrong part.

The part that I want deleted is:

Welcome to Enterprise Network Services - and all the text under that.

Basically - the section that you removed was great - below what you removed is what I want deleted. make sense?

OK,

George - you are the winner.

All - thanks for all your hardwork and effort. It was very much appreciated. It was just a matter of taste/preference of the webpage that George made.

George - please move the design over to the REVISIONS forum.

The second page will now need to be created per the scope of work.

Hello Cody,
here it is the online store template (http://www.customb.com/devel/do/ens/store1.html)

I can work further on it if you will consider this.

I mantained your category organization, i think is better than what ipofficestore has.
I was thinking to keep that frame for each picture of the product,
let me know what do you think about that.

Also i can come up with something new for the header, just let me know if you consider this.

One more thing... do you have already a programmer for coding the store? I can help :D

George.

George - it looks great.

If you have an idea for the header - let me see it.

Coder? Not sure - I'll ask my database guy and find out - if not - will be willing to talk to you about it.

My apologies for the slow return - i've been out of the office - still am - won't be back until Tuesday of next week.

customb

ok, so we're going on this way. i guess you will be able to put your products in photoshop to have that frame.

i will come up with header proposal tuesday i think, and tuesday i will start to code the home page template also.

let me know if there is anything else, maybe i skipped something or you need tweaks.

thanks.
George.

George - I have been instructed by my web provider - to tell you this:

have him send you the photoshop layout as well as the html and images. I can then begin to incorporate the old site information into the new site. We'll put it on the dev.ensg.com portion of the site until we like what we see and want to move it over. Get those files from him and e-mail them to me. Tell George we want his contact info. If there are some graphics or another layout for the portion of the site that we want in the future, we can call on him to do it.

OK George - please do what the man says above. :-)

Let me know if there is anything that I can do?

BTW - you said you were gonna come up with a header proposal and start to code the home page? Status?

Hello,
i'll come up with something asap. Today or tommorow.
And you will have the photoshop template and the templates coded in max 2days.

Let me know if there is something you want in the header for the shop. (text, other image, etc.) Basically i'll keep it the same, but with the text changed and probably another image. Let me know what do you think.

Sorry for the delay.

George.
