Hello,

I am ready to post a contest and I was just curious about the finished art. I wanted to know who became the owner of that art (or more to the point the Logo). What I wanted to know was, if someone designs a realy cool and unique logo, do they still maintain rights to it to use for someone else? I am not so concerned about the artist but more so about future people using the same logo and registering or copy writting it or what ever.

We do plan on copy writting ours (if possible) but just want to make sure that there are no conflicts or issues with this.

Thanks for your time,
Joe

Okie dokie. Here, read my mail :D

Hello Joe, it's all yours. The winner releases all rights to the design once
they are chosen as the winner. They are able to put the design in their
portfolio as something they created. A good idea though is to state that in
your initial message. Something along the lines of "The winner of the
contest agrees to hand over full rights to the logo and cannot use a
duplicate for another contest."

These are professionals anyway, so it's not something they would do but it
wouldn't hurt to just put that in your message somewhere. I'm very careful
of who I select and they are very professional in the way they conduct
themselves.

Let me know if I can answer any more questions,
