[Project Complete] Small template needed for a private investigator firm - $150

Hi DO designers!

One of my Danish clients need a quick redesign for his business website. It's a small private investigator firm who operates primarely in Denmark but is associated with clients and organisations around the world.

The most difficult thing about this template will proberbly be to make it look good with his logo, which is simply the most ugly thing I have ever seen! I have told him several time but he is an old stubbern guy who wants to keep his logo the way it is.

So let's see what you magicians can conjure!

Clients wishes to layout:

He expressed to me that he would like his logo to be placed in the top left area and with a given illustration below. Menusystem to the right of the logo placed horisontally.

In the main text area he would like a watermark of a globe to symbolize his international commitments.

2 membership logos must be placed somewhere. They can be downloaded from here:

I don't think it takes much to impress this client so if you can somehow connect these mismatching elements into a simple template it would be awesome.

Hi Anne,

That is a great start! I have forwarded your suggestion to my client and will return when I have his feedback. I personally like the way you have incorporated his dark logo into the template and actually made it look brighter.

One thing that I know he will comment on is the globe thing. Could you play around with that idea also?

I tried with a globe but it looked kind of strange. It might have to do with the picture I used. I'll try to find a better one later today and post a revision when I do.

Dear Anne and Lilja,

My client has carefully reviewed both of your entries and has decided to accept Anne's template. They were both of great quality and definately what to expect from a DO designer.

He has some revisions for you Anne.

Should I write them here or wait until the thread has been moved?

I guess it takes some time to get the thread moved.

Here are my clients wishes for revisions:

1) He would like to have the bottom section with the contact info in another background color than white.

2) The two small logos needs to be bigger. 50-75% bigger. At least so you can see the small text "Associerede Danske Detektibureauer".

3) The top background color, which is very dark green, needs to be a bit less dark.

4) The menu points needs to be perfectlly aligned horisontally. I know it was a quick draft but just to mention it...

5) How big will the entire template be? Optimized for 1024x768?

Hi Anne,

Almost there....

Please make the background color in the bottom the same as in the top.

Please delete the subject "konsulent"

The menu topics are still not aligned. The subjects "Brochure", "Gode Råd" and "Konsulent" are both 1 pixel higher placed than the rest.

The top links "Links", "English" and "Mail os" should be white instead, but I asume I can edit that myself in the stylesheet, right?

Those are pretty much the final revisions needed.

Here's the new revision.

- Deleted "konsulenter"
- Made the footer area the same color as the header.
- Top links white (yes this can be changed later with the stylesheet)
- Aligned all the tabs.

I have a question about the globe. Does your client want this on all pages or only the home page?

Two things... could you please send me 2 blank menu images and the specifications on the font so that I can make new subjects for the client or edit the existing ones.

Could you send me the image file with a complete globe. I noticed when I add more content to the page the globe is "cut off" at the bottom. Doesn't look so good...


Besides that - everything is aok!
