Hi there

I am looking for a logo for a soon to be launched website is flywire.com.au.

The website will be a copy of elance.com where businesses post projects and companies bid to get the job. So the logo must portray outsourcing.

The difference with flywire.com.au is that it is Australian based. Only people with an Australian business number can register to bid. So prehaps tie this in somehow - prehaps colors of Australian flag is suffice to do this?

The company is 'fly wire' but the words flywire can be together also. Other ideas include using a fly or wire as part of it?

If possible it would be great if the logo could be provided as a vector.

DEADLINE: 22 October

Thanks very much to those who give a go at this!

Prehaps I have made the deadline to short? It's my first time using this service.

I should add that we would like to use this logo on business cards and prehaps even t-shirts down the track.

Is the fly on your company name stands for insect or flying?:)

Thanks for your question. It could be either a fly or flying. Some ideas would be a fly insect, or prehaps some wings or somthing like flying. Open to creative ideas.

eziey: wow! your a very good artist. i like how you have done a stylised image of Australia (it's missing Tasmania down the bottom). It almost looks like wings - prehaps this idea could be taken further - part of the text? I would be interested to see the blue from the Australian flag as part of the logo. Prehaps the word 'fly' and 'wire' could be different colors? I quite like the font. Not sure about the circle with lines. Thank you very much for your great work.

I have been thinking about the wire aspect and would like to see wire used in the logo like wires used to connect. I have put together the following to try to convey what I mean. Hope it makes sense.

Also incorporating a fly insect OR adding wings to the word flywire.

eziey: Wow! I am amazed at your work! The wire looks great.

Looking at it gave me the idea of having the end of the wire appear where the dot of the 'i' in wire is so it forms the dot. I hae tried to do a sketch to convey what I am thinking. I really like the use of the two colors. Also would be good too see what it looks like with wings on the end of the wording - or do you think this will look too much? Another thing I wonder is if a second small wire was somwhere so there is more than one. Again I am extremely amazed at your work!

eziey: I was also wondering if the Australia on the end of the wire could look more like your other stylised maps of Australia on your other logos?

eziey: Again really fantastic stuff. With the one where the wire comes around and forms the dot of the 'i' is it possible to still use the same thicker 3D style of wire and the dot to be large and have the Australia on the end of the wire? I think I prefer having the letters lower-case - especially with the wire coming out of the 'y'. Would it be possible to see what one looks like with a lower-case f also? Love the wings! Your brillant!

I don't think using small letter is suitable for this last logo...That is why I'm using all capital letter...:)
And also please think of how it will look when previewed or printed small when using the australia map on the I dot...I don't think this is suitable...

One way to use small letter is not to make the wire go round in circle...but a bit oval ..please wait , I'll show you...:)

Yes you are right in that the i dot may be too small. I am finding this fantastic. How about a much bigger Australia than? Here are some further thoughts.

eziey is the winner!

would it be possible to get a few of the different logos as I am not 100% sure which one to go with.

Well done! Do you design templates or animate logos in Flash?

eziey
10-17-2004, 10:06 PM
I think you should choose up to 3 best designs only....:)
One more thing, I don't do animation or template ...Sorry about that.....

If what you need for final is just a vector format (EPS) file for each logo, I have no problem to provide more than 3....
:)

Great! Here's the final three. I asked about the template and Flash as I think I'll be opening new projects to do these. Next time I need a logo I'll look out for you on the boards! Great work!
