My name is Scott and I am looking for a logo for my company. I have skimmed this site and have liked what I have seen so I thought I would jump on the fun.
The name of the company is Firefighter Lawn Cutters. I am looking for a logo for truck lettering, shirts, paper items (business cards, letterhead, etc.) Not sure what formats. Also two colors would be preferred but three would be ok as well.
We are a very small company focusing mainly on mowing. All work is perfomed by Firefighters on their days off from the Fire Department.
I want it to be kept simple, I like sharp clean lines, cartoons are out. My first thoughts were of a lawn mower and a fireman, but all ideas will be considered. Something fire related prefered. American Flag as part of it would be nice also.
I do not like the logos in a box or circle, I know a lot of guys do not like swooshes but if they are done correctly I do not have a problem with them.
Deadline date will be May 31.
Good luck, thank you and stay safe.

Something like this, perhaps?

Thank you for being the first, its nice, however, we are looking for something with a little more lawn in it. Something more lawn with a splash of fire.
Again, thanks for being the first to post.

Lawn with a splash of fire ... sounds dangerous :)
In any case, what about something like this?

Thanks for the quick response. I may not be able to get back to you all every day, as I work 24 hours on at the fire station at a time.
Sparkie (any relation to the fire service?) - I like the fire better, but the lawn is still a little small. Also, anyway to get the fonts to align up, so firefigters is the same length as lawn cutters? Any other type of fonts, maybe a little easier to read from afar?
Voctoria it is a little small to see, but i like the merged look, however it being small, I may be getting the wrong look of it, but the fire looks in the shape of a bird. Also, any way to spice up the font?
Thanks again, and look forward to seeing more options.
Stay safe. ;)

Hi Scott,
Please accept this as my submission for your logo.
It's shown in 3 colour schemes:
Orange/Green
Red/Green and
Blue/Orange
I though it may be a good idea to keep the colours to a minimum,
for reduced printing costs. This logo would also translate to Black & White, just fine.
This logo is all vector art, so resizing, or colour changes are not an issue.
Please let me know what you think.
-Kimber.

Cre8or -(Kimber), I like your submission. The purple and orange one is the least favorite. I like the Orange and the Red. I honestly dont know what one better. Both look good. Anyway to make the Green Text stand out darker? If you have any more sugestions let me know.
Victoria - Much better, now I can see it. My eyes thank you. Its a nice design, the fire is just not setting good with me. Also the text is cool, but think it would be hard to read from a distance.
Thanks to everyone again, keep up the great work.
Stay safe.

Do you want me to remake the fire, and make the text bolder? :)

Cre8or - Had some friends look at your submission and they suggested blue firefighter with red. Could we see that?
Victoria - Could you bring the flame down some and try a different font, this one blends together and make it difficult to read from a distance still.
Thanks all, Stay safe.

Sure...
Here's 3 different blue/red and 1 teal/red.
I also changed the fornt for the words "Lawn Cutters".
Please advise.

These are all looking good.
We have come up with a motto, Could you add this into the logo please. "You Grow It, We Mow It."
Victoria - I like #2 of those 3.
Cre8or - I like it in blue also. Colors are tough to choose. Could you increase the red accent wheels on the mower some, it sort of bleeds in. Do you have any more color thoughts?
Sparkie - Anyway you can change the text to something more readable from afar?
Thank you everyone, stay safe.

FirefighterLawnCutters, just curious and doing a little research. Did you happen to find us through our forum sponsor (http://www.groundtradesxchange.com/) ?

Here's some more...
I reworked the logo a little bit to add "movement".
When I think of Firemen working - I think FAST.
So, I was looking at my logo, and thought it looked a little static, so here's the new one
with a few different colour combinations to choose from.
(I also added your motto).
Please let me know what you think.

Cre8or (Kimber) - Wow, lots to take in. I will have my friends take a look. I will be working the next 24 or 48 hours so it may be a day or two before I get back to you. Keep any more ideas coming in, as I can view from work, just cant respond.
Palmer - Someone mentioned it in a forum. I will let you know what one when I can find it, or remember.

Kimber - Dont be sorry, its all good. I appreciate your motion, but I think I like the leg down better. I do like the update to the mower and the work on the hand and wheels.
I think I like the Blue and Red the best so far with Black and Red being a close second.
Victoria - Had the guys look at yours also, and they suggested increasing the lawn size and adding a maltese cross ( the firefigher symbol )
Thanks everyone, stay safe.

A blue/red one and a black/red one.
Mower fixed, leg down (bad dog ;) ) and hand in place...

file formats you may need will be readily available.

Kimber, looks like yours will be the one we will go with. Since no one else seems to be adding anything new.
Anyone else that has something in the works, please advise me, before I decide to close this early.
Kimber, if we do go with you, what formats would it be best that I get this in? Do you keep it on your files also, in case I have problems here or once this is over, is it all gone?
Stay safe, and thanks for the great work.

I usually provide it in Illustrator and CorelDRAW (as Vector formats)
If you like, it can also be provided as a Photoshop file, TIFF, JPeG or GIF.
I usually archive everything, so if there's any problems I've always got a backup.
If you need any additional formats, please advise.

Kimber, earlier you said you kept it to two colors to save money on printing, if you did not have to worry about how many colors you used, what would you do differently?

I'd probably make the fire look more like FIRE.
If you wanted to go full colour I'm sure I could put the suggestion of a uniform on the "man".
Let me see what I can come up with...

Kimber, Any luck on the full color art work yet?
Ejlain - I like your submission also, I see a few changes I would like to see, loose or change the visor on the helmet, and the axe, they look good, but are hard to make out on a quick look.
Can I also see it with all the text on one side as well as any other color changes you can sugest.
For EVERYONE, I found a place to print full color and not charge extra for Business Cards, so please dont feel you have to hold back on the colors.
Thanks everyone, and stay safe.

Ejlain - I like and will be considering your first one, if you have any additions, changes or suggestions to that one let me know.
Ondarox - Wow, a last minute entry and a good one, yours also will be considered, if you have anything you want to add please let me know.
Cre8or (Kimber) - I like that one also, yours will also be considered.
I thought this would be easy to choose and its NOT. These are all really good. The three mentioned above are the three I am going to show my employees and family and let the masses choose.
If you have any changes or other thoughts, please let me know. I will wait a day or two to show everyone and see. So if your working on anything IM me and let me know. Thanks.
Thanks everyone for your hard work, it has really shown.
