Tekheads Logo Contest - $135 prize

Good afternoon, (Admin code added by Palmer - A9454925)

We are a small online reseller of computer hardware. Our requirements are for a logo to be used in print and on the website (don't get any ideas from our website, because we are going to design a new site around the new logo). I will try to explain what we would like clearly, but I don't know any designers terms so bare with me :D

The logo should be fresh, clean, professional, business-like, but also a little bit modern but not overboard on the graphics. I definately don't want something cartoony or arty. I think logo's look best when the text of the name has a little 'something' as opposed to a massive fancy icon, etc. For example, my all time favourite logo is www.sonystyle.com. I think that's perfect. A little play on the words with the dots above the y's, and nothing overboard, but its definately a good logo. Another great one is vodafone, www.vodafone.co.uk, again just a little play on the name no fancy graphics added.

Feel free to try the logo with .co.uk, and also just tekheads. Feel free to try all higher case, all lower case, or a mixture, but I think a lot of logo's these days are all lower case, especially short name like ours. There is no motto or slogan to be added at this stage.

Finally, colour scheme. We like blues, bluey greens, that kind of colour scheme, but again feel free to experiment if you think other colours would look good.

Finally, whoever posts the winning design, I will ask to do letterheads, business cards, etc all through this site, for more $$$.

We'd like to move quickly on this as we've spent lots of money so far on other designs that we didn't like. Deadline: Friday 16th May 03.

I've had ones done with 'heads' before and I think they're too cartoony, and would fit a 'less corporate' look.

That's got real promise. I like the effect over the e's, very 'vodafonish', but I'm not keen on the font at all, definately not the K.

I don't have the widest amount of fonts, but I will head over to a font site and have a look around for some, and post alternatives soon. :)
Ok here we go. Personally I think #1 font fits well. :)

Colours superb. Top left is too fancy, top right is good, bottom left is popular with my business partner, bottom left is my favourite. Can you try variations on the bottom left one, and also its .co.uk not .com, and make the 't' have less of a tail.

Looks good on the web page, but I don't seem to like it standalone. Possibly because I prefer the colours on the web version, and perhaps the shadow.

Your first one in the first set you posted was good. Can you take that and make the k look less like a y, ie, more obviously a k, but I liked the simplicity.

Don't like the top two, but the bottom one has potential. Can you turn the k around so its the proper way around, not 90 degrees and can you make the square the nice orange that everyone else has been using. I tried it myself, but the k looks a bit stretchy, so can you use the same font that you've used for the rest of the text. I think that will look quite good then.
