I'm entering this contest, but I was wondering if you could upload a file with some images of any of the floors. I'll use other photos for now, but if you can upload any photos that would be great. Starting work now.

Glad to somebody's interested!

To be honest, we don't have too many of the types of photos I think you're looking for. We've got a ton of top-down product photos, but not a whole lot more.

But, I guess that's why you're the artist! You're welcome to browse iFLOOR.com for any pictures of Westhollow products you want.

I've attached a few pictures of westhollow products in a zip file.

Thanks for the ifloor.com link, it has what I was looking for. I'll have something to preview in about 24 hours or less.

hi,
as far as the content is concerned, what should we include in the template ?

Regards

Brian

Good question.

This template is really more of a skin. We want a skin that can be applied to all pages of the site with a navigation area, a main body placeholder, and a footer area.

Tell if this helps you at all. I'm sorta confused by your question.

Hey guys, there doesn't seem to be any interest in making a WesthollowFloors design. What, if any, information am I missing that is needed? Or is it just that nobody likes flooring sites? :(

I'm working on an entry, don't worry, I just wanted to make sure it's really up to standard before posting it, I'll post it soon :)

I'm close to posting now, just wanted you to know, that I'm still working on it, I had something finished but I wanted to make a few more adjustments, that's what I am working on now, doing a lot of multi-tasking

Here is the header, and the direction I was going with the design, I'm re-working the body and menu system but wanted to show you something so you can see for sure that I am working on it.

Looks like I'm first then! Here are a few ideas for you. I hope one of them works for you, but if not I would appreciate some feedback so I can get closer to what you have in mind :)

Do you have an EPS or AI version of the logo by any chance? That would be very helpful.

Thanks!

Here is my first attempt, hope you like it. I tried to give it that open white space you mentioned, and create a sense of elegance.

Hey, nice to see some stuff up there!

Alright, honestly, I think both designs are a little too extreme.

Dizski, your's is a little too practical, and PickADesign, your's is a little too flashy. The best outcome would be a mix of both of these styles of design (eg, flashy + practical = happy medium).

Hope this helps.

Can you give me some more details about what you consider too flashy about it and what exactly you would want toned down, as I'm not quite sure what would need changing. Any more insight would be appreciated.

Thanks

Bryan,

I am working on something for this :)

PickADesign,
For one, the navbar is in a weird spot, and has kind of a weird shape. Also, the header part is too big not to have either more flooring pictures, or more navigation.

This next part is not specifically for you, it's for everybody.
We won't be conducting transactions online with this site. It's more of a showcase for our products.

Ok, will get new layout done and try something else.

Anne, very cool. I like it a lot. It's got a lot of flexibility.

We would probably remove those menu buttons, but like I said-- it's a flexible design.

Bryan,

I will be travelling from South Florida to Atlanta tomorrow, and will be back online on Thursday morning for a while. Then I will spend the day with my family for the holiday. I will be back online on Friday.

If you have not decided a winner by then, I will try to get my entry in to you by Saturday. If you cannot wait that long, please just let me know.

Thanks.

Lori, that's fine, you should have plenty of time.

PickADesign, very good.

You're all impressing me very much! I'll try and think of something critical to say at some point, but for now, I've got nothin'.

Thanks Bryan,

Appreciate it, will await the fixes and modifications :)

Let's see, all we can think of are two things thus far:
1) Change the font of the product navigation button to some sans-serif font that is not italicized.

2) Remove the payment methods from the bottom, and replace it with link duplicates of the top nav bar.

If we think of anything else, I'll slap it on here.

No probem, will make those couple adjustments. If there are any more, let me know, otherwise I can slice it into html for you.

Thanks

I would say go ahead and slice away (once you've made the changes).
