Hi everyone,
My name is Jim and I own a landscaping business.Several months ago I became a dealer for a company that manufactures artificial turf and has developed the technology for constructing very realistic artificial putting greens.I plan to market these mainly to homeowners who are themselves avid golfers. Owning one of these greens would allow them to practice at home when they don't have time to go to the golf course or driving range.
Anyone who ever played golf has probably,at some time, taken their putter along with a golf ball and practiced putting into a glass on the living room floor.I want you to draw a cartoon depicting exactly that:a person(preferably a man),with a frown on his face putting a ball into glass.Underneath I'll add something like,"this is no way to practice your golf game".I may add some photos of greens that we have built along with a description of them to eventually make like a flier which we will mail to potential customers. All I want from you is the drawing.
Good luck and thanks.I would like to conclude this contest by the end of the week if possible(12/11) and announce the winner early Monday(12/12).I'll extend the deadline, however,if I feel like it's necessary. Jim

Hello Jim,

What do you think of this?

Not quite "refined" rather a very quick scribble of what popped into my head. If this is the vein you're looking for I'll "finish it up".
Please advise.
Kimber.

These are both good and basically what I'm looking for.
Radical,
I would prefer a side view.I like the way the guy is reacting to the missed putt.
Cre8or,
I would like for the glass to be a little bit further away from the guy.
Also, please put something in the picture to make it look like they're practicing indoors:chair, sofa, etc.
Thanks.
Jim

Now when you say "side view" you mean like Cre8ors?

Yes,Radical, like the one Cre8or did but have the glass a little further away and make the scene look like a living room. Also,I would like for it to look kinda "cartoonesque".

Hello,

I am attaching a fast sketch, tried to draw a funny situation. It may be too crowded in sketch but coloring will simplify the illustration.

If you like the idea and composition, I will color it in few days.

Hi allstar,
I tried to make something "cartoonesque" like you said. This is the first time I have ever created an illustration like this. If you think it's terrible you can tell me, I will appreciate honest feedback. Hope you enjoy, I had fun with it.

Marcus and Mehmet,
I like both of these;very creative and very funny.I'm anxious to see yours with color,Mehmet.
I am going to extend the deadline until Thurs.,12/16 in hopes of getting a few more entries.

Hello,

The colored version is below. I put the glass far away from the player, so that we have enough space to put the text as in the example, but, I can easily carry the glass closer to the player and remove the text if you prefer the illustration without text.

Mehmet,
I'll just communicate with you here because when I hit your PM button a different name than yours comes up.
When you send me the design eliminate the wording at the bottom of the picture.I'm going to make up a flier with photos of our putting greens along with a description of them.I haven't decided exactly how I'm going to set everything up so I'll just put in the wording myself.
Send to jdenny2219@aol.com.Nice job and thanks.
