Hello everyone and thank you for considering our contest. We have offered a prize of $160 for this logo design competition. We have seen the work here and think it is great. Can't wait to see what you have in store for us.

We are designing an e-zine newsletter. The newsletter serves as a tool for pet sitters to communicate with their clients as well as to provide useful information to clients. We would like the logo to emphasize professionalism and loving quality care for pets of all kinds. We have uploaded 2 photos we feel might work as a logo if they were characterized, or perhaps someone can come up with something better. We have not yet come up with a name for the newsletter. Ideas are welcome. We would like to end this contest by Jan 10, 2005. Good luck!

What's the name of the e-zine or newsletter?

Thanks for the question.

We are setting this up as an electronic newsletter where our member pet sitters will be able to edit in their own name or choose from a couple of defaults. We will have everything from people who will want to be "cutesy", i.e. Puppy Prints News, to people who will want to set a more professional tone. We know this makes it more difficult, and will probably be best served by something that either of those extremes would find appealing.

We have not yet come up with a defauult name for the newsletter. Ideas are welcome. Here is a rough draft issue. We were thinking of putting the logo in place of the weather vane, top left.

Here is another draft issue we were thinking about. http://scoop.freewebpage.org/index.html
These are just drafts of our thoughts at this time.

Thanks for the submission Michael. :) It is well done and very cute but not exactly what we are looking for. :( This seems to put emphasis on the e-zine itself rather than our product which is professional pet care in the clients home and loving quality care for pets.

We do not want any text with the logo, just an image. :cooldude: Our member pet sitters will be able to edit in their own name or choose from a couple of defaults that we provide. We are looking for a couple of good default names (open to suggestions) like Collars & Scents, Pet Sitter's Scoop or some other default names to offer members that do not want to edit in their own name, but we do not want the name to be part of the logo. Including a name in the logo will actually prevent us from having the flexibility we desire.

Some members will want to project a very professional business image while others may want something very cute. We are hoping to get something in the middle that both extremes might find appealing.

I hope this information is helpful. Please ask questions if more information is needed.

:help: I would like to see a few more designers show some interest in this project so please jump in.

Thanks!:winkkiss:

Hello and Happy New Year to All. The holidays are such a busy time for pet sitters and I have been unable to reply here sooner. I have finally gotten my head above water and put together enough time to respond to all the great designs you have being posting. Thanks for your efforts and keep up the great work.

I would really like to see someone design a graphic representation of the pet sitter at the door with the happy dogs and maybe a purring kitty to the side. See the photo I submitted for what I am trying to describe.

The message we want to convey is professional pet care in the clients home and loving quality care for pets. Perhaps it should be specific about the newsletter? We do not want any text with the logo, just an image that conveys our message.

Paula: so far I like this one a lot. It seems to show a little of what a pet sitter is about. The sitter seems happy to be doing the job and the animals seem eager to see the sitter. Adding a cat and refining it a little might help.

Michael: I liked the dog reading but I would prefer to see a human reading to a dog and a cat. You handled the reading idea well without adding text, I like that.

The happy dog is cute but the logo really doesn't convey anything to me w/o the words and I want the graphic, not words, to convey the message.

Graphix: Your design is nice and clean but I don't see the message I'm looking to convey. It seems to be puppy love or a boy and his dog. I do like your style so please do not be discouraged.

Thanks for the feedback! Actually one of the animals in the window is suppose to be a cat. I'll revise, and make it look more like a cat.:D

I'll post those revisions later today or sometime tomorrow.

Thanks,Paula

Hello Again,

:help:Where have all the designers gone? We were hoping the prize we are offering would attract a little more interest than it has. :sob: Designers please jump in on this one and give us something that completely blows us away. What we have so far is good but none have jumped out and shouted I'm the one!

 We would still really like to see someone design a graphic representation of the pet sitter at the door with the happy dogs and maybe a purring kitty to the side. See the photo we originally submitted for what we're referring to. We have rights to this photo and can use it. Can you turn This Picture into a graphic styled like the logo in the upper left corner of this link. http://www.peggiespets.com/

Paula: Now we have two good concepts from you. When I asked you to refine your design a little I didn't make myself clear. What I am looking for is something more sophisticated and less cartoonish. I realize we asked for a caricature type logo, perhaps that was not the proper wording. Look at the graphic in the upper left corner of this link to see the look we are after. http://www.peggiespets.com/ This logo is not our property so we must make sure we mimic style only, and not substance.

We thank each one of you for your interest and we're looking forward to the next round of designs.

Greetings once more,
Paula: :D We like your most recent submission a lot. Not the one with the heart, the rectangular framed one. We would like to see a few changes. Perhaps the silhouette isn't really what we're after since we would like to see a happy, kind, caring, compassionate face for the sitter, and happy faces on the pets. Also the dogs tale should appear to be wagging, and the cats body not just touching the sitters leg, but the appearance of rubbing against her leg. It seems you have the concept we're looking for, we only need to tweak it some. Thanks for sticking with us. :flowers:

RadicalSeed and Just_G: I appreciate your efforts and the new look you each have presented but they are not what we're after. :sob: Look at our previous posts for more information.

Thank you all for your continued interest.

 Congratulations are in order. Paula is the winner. We have selected Pet Sitter Version 3, the silhouette with the blue background. We would like you to put the cat rubbing on the sitters legs (from edit 1, 2 or 3) in this design and give us a little tail wag look but not as many lines as before if that is possible. That should pretty well do it.

Thanks for sticking with us and working so hard. You really earned your payday with this one. Once the design is finalized I will let you know the formats we will need. We are checking with our technical people to determine that.

:notworthy I want to thank all the designers who participated on this project. We wish we could have selected a few more winners but we only need one design right now. I'm sure we will work with you in the future. Thanks for all your efforts! :)

Thanks for choosing my design!! Here is the revision you requested. I put an outline around the cat so you could better see the cat's head.Let me know if you'd like tosee any other changes.
Thanks Again.Paula

I thought I'd show you the version I had added detail to,in black. I like the shape of the dog and the additional paw on the dog.:)

Hello Paula,
We're still not totally happy with the tail wag. I'm not an artist nor do I have the proper software to do this well, but I played with it and tried to make the fur look like it was moving. See attached picture. A blur tool might have done better. I'm sure you can do much better with your skills and artistic abilities. I did this just to give you a better idea of what I think might work.

Note that I also used your previous cat which we liked better and I added some eyes, just to see how they would fit.

I don't see an attachment. Once I see it I'll be happy to
make adjustments until you are satisfied with the design:)

Sorry I thought this was uploaded with the previous post.
The tail is just a concept. It is very sloppy here as I don't have the skill or tools to draw it properly. Thanks!

Hi Paula: Sorry I took so long to get back to you, working with a group tends to slow things down a bit.

You'll be happy to know we made our final revision decisions. We like the middle design of the last group best. After looking at it we would like the cat back as a silhouette and the eyes removed from the dog and the girl, like you had it before we changed it. We do not want any lines around the tail.
I uploaded a picture I modified slightly to demonstrate what we are after in the event I haven't described it well. I am told the cats head in my silhouette, especially the left side, is too big, proportionately, for the body. So
1. remove the white eyes.
2. remove the lines outside the tail.
3. adjust the cats head proportionately to the body.

Once completed we would like the final product in TIF and JPG format. If possible we would also like the native format. I will have to let you know if we will need any other format once we make some final determinations on a few loose ends.

Thanks for a job well done. I'm looking forward to working with you again in the future.

Hi Paula,
You've got it. The tail has changed though. You took out the hair strands. Look at the tail in my drawing which is your center drawing without the lines along the sides of the tail. Keep that tail and we're done.

Thanks!
