Hi,

My girlfriend is trying to set up her own company called Paint Pot Murals.

She wants to paint murals like characters out of cartoons etc and also really likes painting abstract art.

Being in to abstract neither her or I are good at actually visuallising somthing real like a paint pot :)

What I need to get for her is a logo she can put on stationary, advertising things like a web site or a flyer.

We have very little cash so $80 is the best we can do, we really are setting up on a shoe string.

We're open for ideas but the main points are professional and fun.

Looking forward to any thoughts.

regards,

Mike,

Hi,

Forgot to mention (after looking at some of the other posts) a deadline.

There is not really a deadline but we'd like somthing asap (as always!) ;)

So lets say 2 weeks?

:)

OK just been looking at some more of the other posts and we're really excited to see what anyone comes up with.

I can see somthing like a paintpot replacing the i or o in "paint pot" somthing like that?

Anyhow leave it up to everyone....

I thought I'd start things out here...I managed to do this entire logo in one color (with screens) which would help out on a "shoestring" budget...let me know what you think!

Hiya M Bleigh,

Thanx for the speedy response! I like what you have done, especially keeping it to one colour. I wouldn't mind trying blue perhaps?

I wouldn't mind having alook at some stuff in colour, just to see what it would look like.

I quite like the typeface and the paint splat! I'm a bit unsure about the pot at the end though, maybe could try a paint tin?

Thanx again

Shelley :)

Here's it in blue, some new ideas coming right after.

A new idea and a two-color variation.

Hi mbleigh,

Thanks for the colour variations.

I much prefer the new design with the paint brush, I wasn't too sure about the pot/jar on the first design.

With the red & white desing, could you try taking out the red from the letters (i.e. just a black outline white inside) but keeping the paint brush, splat and stripe (under the title) and changing the colour of the brush, splat & stripe to blue?

I think blue seems to work better for me.

Many thanks,

Shelley...

The type font is perfect!

Hi Shelley.
I'm glad you like it. I could try the paint tin but have a question first. The name of the business is "Paint Pot..." not "Paint Tin...", so why would you want to add an extra element?
This pot was actually designed originally for another contest, but growing up, my grandmother (an avid painter) used to keep her brushes in something very similar to this (that's why I chose to use it for you instead of starting on something new).
I hope this didn't come off bad, I am sick today and nothing seems to be coming out right. The question is meant "with a smile" :)

Hiya,

:) understand don't worry....

The murals I paint are normally on walls and rather large etc, so I really do use paint tins, although it might be a UK thing?

Any thoughts more than welcome....get well soon!

Hiya jason

Sorry for the delayed reply i've been away for the New Year. I love your design - the typefont is really working for me. It just seems that the pot/tin isn't quite what im looking for. Im thinking more along the lines of maybe an actual paint tin - you know with a handel?? Don't know if or how well this would work. Any ideas would be great - sorry if it sounds a bit vague :)

Hi Shelley.
Hope you had a good time while away.
No you aren't being too vague. I just wanted to give a different option first that was somewhere between a pot and a tin. I will work on an actual pain tin today and see what I come up with. :)

I love your design, but is there any chance you could try a paint tin, rather than an actual pot? - ive asked some of the other designers and they are having a look at what they can come up with. Any ideas would be great

Hi,

Both Mike and I really like this design it just looks great.

Mike tried printing all the logo's off on A4 so we could really pick one and this one really did stand out.

Mike then tried to print it off as a letter head kind of thing and I know its low resolution so it was to just give me an idea on how a letter could look etc but he couldn't get it to look really nice or really do the logo justice.

Have you any thoughts on how it should be printed on A4? I was thinking of kind of a faded version as a water mark if that makes sense?

Any thoughts more than welcome,

Thanks,

Shelley.

Sorry ....Not quite sure what do you mean...Do you mean that you need a high resolution version so that you can print it out to see it printed more clear?

Hiya,

no the low res is fine for the mo, I was just moving it around an A4 page and printing it off to see how it looked.

Shelley is going to use the logo on her stationary but when I put the logo at the top right, with our address below it, it looks a little bland and I was wondering if you had any ideas on how we could live'n up the stationary?

If this is not the norm to ask don't panic as we're still very new to the site so not sure what we can and can't ask of you :)

Thanks,

Mike,

Actually, you can open another contest for letterhead and business card designing when you got your logo final files . Or other option, you can continue working with the winner of this contest to design them by adding fund to this contest prize...By the way here I show you a sample of letterhead.

Hi,

Sorry for the delay in response, both Mike and I have been working a lot recently.

This is fantastic....just what I'm after. How do we progress this? i.e. say we're happy with your design and get the psd or eps or somthing?

Regards,

Shelley
