This competition is for website seasonal & special event logos. A new logo is loaded during particular times of the year. Works just like Google changing their logo at certain times of the year or for certain events. You should attempt to integrate these elements in to the company logo in some way.
The winner will be chosen by March 15th, and the final logos should be presented by May 1st.
I suggest you create a few logos as examples to show me and I will pick the winner from the sample you present.
Attached is the company logo and the top section of the website that it appears on. The company logo appears on both sides of the web page, you can change one, both, either, make them the same, different, etc.
The company is a software game developer & publisher marketed at the mature, adult gamer, i.e. over 30 and predominantly female.
Total prize is $800 for all the logos.

Is anybody intending to enter this? If you are not, what are your reasons for not entering? Letting me know will enable me to tailor any future competitions I list to have a better response.

Hi,
I think to some, it may seem a daunting task as the list looks long. I was thinking on entering, but I think it will take some time and creativity to make the adjustments each time for each celebrated day. I also believe that what may have added to the low response rate also is the 12 days of Christmas specification, meaning one logo change for each day. That particular aspect rose the task to a new level I think, as it went from about 21 graphic changes to about 33.
I may submit a few samples for your review either tomorrow or during the weekend in my spare time.
Thanks
Delano

pickadesign: Thanks for the feedback, I'll give it a few more days before a do any split testing on rewording of the competition :)

I've removed the 12 days of Christmas requirement and extended the deadlines (again ;) ). Also to account for people's schedules I'm allowing the winning designer to have six weeks to submit all the winning designs.

Sorry for not giving feedback, I didn't realise there was a post here. For some reason I wasn't receiving updates about new posts to this thread. I'm busy at the office right now but I will post feedback this evening.

schnickerdoodle: That would be great. Please do so.
Christian: You never did get around to submitting those entries.
pracus: They look good. But I really would like to see someone else entering too.

But do I have to change something? If no-one will enter would we finish this project? The time is coming :)

Hi Justin :) , I will prepare something. I have a couple of questions, can I change the face expression of the monkey for example? or the hands?
take care

OK, Justin, it's a long time after the deadline. I know you're waiting for other entries, so my only question is: do you see the chance to finish this project with me?
I didn't receive any feedback from you so I don't know what to think.
Cheers!
JustinLloyd
02-23-2005, 11:24 AM
belladonna: You are free to change the expression or the hands, remove the infinite rubber band, just so long as the essential elements of the logo remain.
pracus: I believe that I would like to wait some more time.

I will post my ideas w/ in the next 24 hours ;) ..
By the way, may i know if we should finish all the event's logo before you pick the winner..or we'll just show you some (i.e. 6 or 8 events) and from there the winner will take goodcare of the rest?

schnickerdoodle: I especially like the creativity with the IMF letters as well as the character.

So I do understand that I'm out of the competition?
JustinLloyd
02-26-2005, 03:38 PM
pracus: No, you are not "out." Your initial designs were not quite what I was looking for. If you want to make a second attempt, I say "Go for it!" It's always difficult to be the first penguin in the water. I just felt your initial designs weren't quite what I was seeking.

That's why I was waiting for some feedback, but unfortunately I didn't receive it.
Show me what to change, what to improve? I don't know - I can't see big differences between mine and their entries so feedback is absolutely neccesary.

It was very difficult to decide on the winner for this one. It finally came down to schnickerdoodle and belladonna. If I could I would have purchased multiple sets of images. As it happens I am not ready to do that yet (but I will be running the competition again next year most likely).
I have to declare schnickerdoodle the winner for this competition.
Moderator: Can you move this thread to the revisions forum for me?

Wow!! Thanks so much! I am glad you liked them.
Let's first start off with any changes on the designs that were already posted..
I will get the rest of the "holidays" done and post them tomorrow. And then we will do the revisions on those..
Thanks again,

schnickerdoodle: They are all looking good.
Just a few points:
a) The mouth on Father's Day. Can we do something with that? I don't know what it is but I thought it was an upturned moustache at the time. Perhaps put a different mouth on the monkey and some stuble. ;)
b) Groundhog Day had me hellishly confused. That's nothing to do with your design or rendering of the groundhog. I guess it just wasn't obvious. Can we put something in the monkey's hands that says "Go Phil!" or "No more winter!" Just suggestions. And if that monkey is wearing scarf can you make it a bit more obvious?
Thanks for all your hard work. They're looking really good.

Looking good. Couple of points.
a) What does the one with the monkey holding the brown football and the horse over the green M represent? Am I missing something obvious?
b) I think the Guy Fawkes, November 5th one may need tweaking. Not sure let. Let me think about it.

Boxing Day
"Boxing Day is traditionally a day of sport, usually football and horseracing".
Did I get that wrong?
Deanna
JustinLloyd
03-30-2005, 03:03 PM
I cannot disagree that a lot of sport takes place on Boxing Day. Usually that's all you can bloody find on the telly while recovering from the previous day's festivities.
However, let's stick to the more traditonal "St. Stephen's day"/yuletide type of representation.

Schickerdoodle: My apologies for not giving feedback sooner. I've been immensely busy these past few weeks. I can only say "Sorry" for not reviewing your work sooner.
Yeah, they look good. I'm going to print all of these images out and stare at them for a few days. I'll get back to you by Monday evening with final feedback.
Also, how much would you charge for one more logo? I totally zoned out on St. Patrick's day so if you can give me a price for one more I'll see what the policy is of bumping up the final prize money on the this competition.

Don't worry about it.. I understand what busy is :D
Also I forgot about St. Patricks Day also... As for adding funds to be honest for $800; I'm not too worried about it...
Here is what I came up with for the St. Paddy's Day...
Looking forward to your thoughts on these and the others..

schnickerdoodle: I've reviewed those logos and I'm very happy with them. Can you zip up the files and post them for download. I am assuming you used illustrator so AI files or other vector scalable art is fine.
