Hello,

I'm back with another small task. This time I need a new logo for a small one-man business called "Deva Consult".

www.deva-consult.dk

Deva Consult provides private detective and guard services both to private clients as well as to corporate clients. Whenever larger cases is undertaken he utilizes his network of colleagues to solve the case, making him capable of taking on nation wide assignments.

He also sells various products related to the security industry but that is a minor side activity compared to his two primary services.

He does not have a logo today. Just been using letters to form his company name along with a dog. Not very creative. I could imagine he would be happy if his primary services could be included in the logo. Something like:

Deva Consult
Detektiv & Vagt

...but it's not a requirement. He underlined that he did not want anything with a shield in it - not a police like logo. Professional, flexible and affordable. He has been using black, red and white colors up until now but I think you should play around with other colors to see what comes of that.

The logo must be presentable in black/white as well as in color.

Do you guys and gals think you can work your magic and conjure something of this ???

Thank you for the entries so far. Great stuff!

Specific feedback below:

VisualSense
You missed the "t" in "vagt". You basically wrote "guard" without the "d". LoL. Interesting concept of using the "d" and the "c" to shape the binocular. Please correct the spelling and I'll present it to my client. Nice that you are trying out other colors.

Bill
You got the spelling right :D Very stylish magnifying glass and I like the soft red color. Not sure if he will love the font "Deva Consult" is in but we'll see. If you like you can try to present another font. How will it look in black/white?

mbleigh
You also missed the "t" in "vagt". Also, "Detektiv" is with a "k" and not a "c". I know the Danish part makes this task a bit more difficult but you are doing great so far. I like the idea of the tilted area with the DC inside. Also a good balance in DEVACONSULT with the higher "d" and "l" in the end.

MOZ
Very original and to the point. I wonder how the finger print will look in black / white. Can you please post an example?

Thanks!

Hello again,

Thanks to eziey and MyChicken for your entries. My client will have a difficult time selecting among these fine entries.

eziey
You misspelled the word "detectiv" - please replace it with "detektiv" with a "k" instead of a "c".

mbleigh
No spelling revision from you?

I will pull his nose hairs this afternoon to get his complete feedback!

Feedback from my client:

In general my client is very impressed with the quality of your entries. However, he feels the entries are focussing to much on the detective part of his business and not enough on the guard part. Magnifying glass, spy hat, finger print etc.

He very much likes the style of eizey, MyChicken and Bill but he can't point out a winner just yet.

He would like to have a more balanced logo - symbolizing both areas of his business.

Here's a real quick/rough idea of using the dog head from web site and the fingerprint. Please let me know if you would like to see this idea finalized with text & finished art.

I have just talked to my client on the phone. He had these comments to your entries:

MOZ
Sorry, this idea doesn't appeal to him.

eziey
Definately an improvement. Good choice with the lock. However, he would like to have the lock made a bit clearer. Perhaps with a keyhole or something?

RadicalSEED
Came right in from the side line and impressed my client. The symbolism of the eye is very strong and fits both area of his business. He could see you have used the "D" and the "C" from his company initials to form the shape of the eye. Could you play around with the same idea to make a revision? Perhaps the eye looks to girly? He's not sure...

mbleigh
My client doesn't feel this logo looks well in b/w.

MyChicken
A great idea with the fence wire. My client saw it as a chain so he would like you to play around with the idea of having "something" there to balance out the magnifying glass. Perhaps a maglite? or a beam from a maglite?

I asked him what suggestions he would most likely select as the winner and he said eziey, RadicalSEED or MyChicken.

Hi eziey and MyChicken.

Your revisions looks awesome. He should have a good basis to make a decision now. RadicalSEED - will you be posting a new version???

Hello everyone,

Sorry for the waiting but it took some thinking and evaluation for my client before he could pick a winner. It came down to either the conservative entry from eizey or the more fresh entry from RadicalSEED.

RadicalSEED is the winner!

My client would like if you could clarify the "d" a bit more if that is possible at all. Also, could you present him with a revision using the font "Modern"? I'm not sure what it looks like but that's what he mentioned.

Thank you to all for a marvelous effort!

Kenneth :-)

Hi RadicalSEED,

What's the status of this?

My client would like you to use his capital font type as he has his name written in on his website: www.deva-consult.dk

Could you send me the files in high resolution in a couple of different sizes and color + b/w What file format will you be using?

Thanks!

Kenneth

Hiya Kenneth, sorry for the delay. I was out of town for a few days. I'll get to work on those revisions ASAP.

What file formats do you require? Are you using this logo strictly on the web? Or will it be used for print as well?

Tyler
01-23-2005, 06:09 PM
A more "D" fined effort with the requested font.

What do you think?

ecoaid
01-23-2005, 11:20 PM
No problem :-)

The logo is for printing as well as for web. File formats like jpg or png for web and eps or tif for printing. That would work fine wouldn't it?

I'll send your revisions for my client for some final comments.

Kenneth :-)

My client has selected the lower sample. The one with the highest "d".

Please send all the appropriate files to me: admin@ecoaid.biz
