I'd like a logo designed for a new e-mail newsletter for nutritionists (registered dietitians) called "Full Plate". The tag line is "Dietitians Balancing Work and Family"
So the theme is about balancing two aspects of life, but being the audience is health/nutrition professionals, the "full plate" can't imply "super-sizing".
The free newsletter will be offered from my 7-year-old website, WorkOptions.com, http://workoptions.com so I'd like compatibility with the design and colors there, with emphasis on the warmer color.
I have little sense of design, so I don't have suggestions except to say, simpler is better in my mind. Also, here's the primary demographic profile of the reader:
A married professional-level career woman, in her late 20's to late 30's, making US$45,000 - $60,000 a year, who has small or school-aged children.
A secondary demographic profile of the reader is a professional-level career woman who is 40-something or older with older kids AND elder-care responsibilities.
So in general, busy women who are also nutrition professionals working in various health and business settings (food companies, health centers, medical centers, schools, long-term care facilities, universities).
I'm interested in seeing versions with and without the tag line. If feasible, I would like to see variations with WorkOptions.com incorporated in the logo.
I will use the logo as follows:
On a web page located at WorkOptions.com to promote Full Plate newsletter sign-ups.
In HTML e-mail newsletter itself (using Constant Contact http://www.constantcontact.com as the vendor).
On a paper flyer to promote sign-ups at the Food & Nutrition Conference Expo.
I look forward to seeing the entries.

Being new and eager (too fast) I omitted the $ and deadline for
Full Plate newsletter logo needed. Here it is.
Hello. Here's a very simple starter idea from MOZ. Doe the concept do anything for you? Colors? PLMK Remember this is a bare bone idea to build on:yes:

Bold I like, but mighty big and black; color preference noted as compatible with WorkOptions.com site. Interesting notion, but the food guide pyramid won't be a part of the logo. Thanks.

Thank you for your considered response, Taldo.
On the plus side:
Colors match WorkOptions.com--good.
Balls in form of circle (plate?) reflect the balancing act of many working women.
Comments:
I'm hesitant to mix fonts (i.e., Full Plate font different from WorkOptions.com font) because it will be featured on WorkOptions.com with its logo at the top of the page. The smaller tag line one is fine.
The body icon is one that it seems I've seen in too many places and would rather have something different.
Thoughts:
Is there a way to put Full Plate (the words) inside a (maroon = #990000 = 153:0:0) plate, along the inside perimeter? (Maybe the letters would have to be white like WorkOptions.com on blue is.) And the balancing balls have a presence, too--on/around the plate? Too busy-looking or do-able? In this configuration, I realize the tag line may not have a fitting place.
Thanks.

<<Too busy-looking or do-able? >>
I appreciate the attempt. I'd say "too busy-looking". Not sure where to go next. Thank you for your efforts.

PS: I noticed the plate looks rather empty than full :P
I'll try to see if i can add a few elements on the plate

Thanks to each of the three designers who submitted.
Okay, Taldo. This last one has appeal and something I can work with (fine-tuning). This is my first designoutpost experience...my understanding is somehow all this moves to the revision forum somehow.

Thanks! The mods will move this to the revisions forum. You can go ahead and let me know the changes you would like to see so I can get started on those.....

Sounds good. Technical correction - in the USA (my audience), dietitians spell their profession with a second t in (not a c).
Goal (in digital use) is for logo to be fast-loading and to "tuck in" closely to the left hand corner of the web page and the HTML e-newsletter. So first, I'd like to scale it down in overall absolute size and second, with a relatively thinner (but still "full"-looking) font.
For the same reason, and for consistency with how WorkOptions.com logo is done, I'd prefer the icon in front of the Full Plate (without stretching out the tag line). (I debated this, because it does have a fitting place on top.) In your opinion, because of this proximity to the red FULL, should the colors on the icon be reversed?
Icon: head a little bit closer to the body; more balance with the balls on each side; one or two more reddish ones.
That's it for now ; )

Taldo: Thank you AND a more careful reading of comments seems to be in order. Please see all comments below.
POSITIVE: I really like how you positioned the icon in front of the words. I like the font.
REPEAT (from last message): "USA dietitians spell their profession with a second t in (not a c)." Please make the spelling correction in tag line.
REPEAT (from last message): "I'd like to scale it down in overall absolute size..." Yikes! Instead of smaller, it's now wider and taller and icon is bigger. Please adjust to smaller for web/e-newsletter use.
(I'll need a relatively bigger version for reproduction on a paper flyer.)
NOTED: Image orientation is rectangle now vs. square (good). NEEDED: As tight a margin around the image (less white space) as possible so that I can place the icon close to the top and left margin of my web page.
Thank you.

We're almost there!
Note I'd said: "POSITIVE: I really like how you positioned the icon in front of the words." I'm confused why you changed that to a different position in the latest revision?! Would please you fix that?
Sorry, I didn't mean NO margin (one of the balls got sliced off the top!) just a small one, maybe 1/8" or so.
Thanks.

I had turned the icon because i made it smaller and it seemed to fit around the "F" better...
I have changed it back. Here it is with the icon in 2 different sizes. :)

Taldo: Thanks for your efforts. To complete the project, please:
1. Spelling correction: Please repost 6.gif (larger icon wrapped around F) with corrected US spelling of dietitians (replace dieticians).
2. Resend/repost the biggest logo you made (the one that I rejected as too big for my web page, yet good for print)
BUT with US spelling of dietitians (instead of dieticians)
AND with 1/8" borders.
3. Send separate files showing icon portion alone in two sizes (reflecting sizes of the two above).
4. Send separate files showing Full Plate/tagline alone in two sizes (reflecting sizes of the two above).
Thank you.

Here is the updated logo. If you PM me your email address, I will email all of the other files to you.
