We are looking for a new logo or I guess I should say first logo for a photography company. The company name is oneXposure Photography and we primarily shoot weddings at the moment however, we plan to expand in the near future and setup a full studio. We want to make sure the design is flexible enough for our future expansions but classy enough for weddings. A photographic twist might be nice. We currently own onexposure.com and oneexposure.com however we think we would like to stick to the spelling with just one E. Also we think it looks better with a capitol X however feel free to design it however you feel looks best. If you want a phrase line you can include the word Photography or something similar. The logo should ideally work on a black or white background.

We would like to run this until January 17th however if we don’t get enough participation we will extend it until January 22nd so please submit your ideas early.

If you have any questions I will be checking and providing feedback daily:) please note we will also be running a business card design contest after we have selected our logo and then who knows maybe even a website one. So please keep your eyes open fir the upcoming ones:)

Although this doesn't have a graphical icon, I think it has the kind of elegance and simplicity that would make potential customers feel both comfortable and impressed by professionalism. Ostentatious icons just don't have the same effect :)

First of all I would like to thank everyone for their submissions so far. I hope they keep coming in :)

Michael: We do like the simplicity of your logo however, when it is converted to b&w the font looks the same making the spelling look funny. Maybe you can play around with this same concept a little more and see if you can come up with something else.

Bill: We like the idea however I think the font is a little to fancy for two guys shooting photography. Please feel free to submit any other ideas you may have including just changing the font. :)

Aaron: We really like concept 1… You can feel free to play with it or try to tweak it anymore if you want but we thinks it looks very nice as is. Once idea someone made was to possibly change the color of the X. If you want to play with that to see how it looks please feel free. I know if we decide in it we can always tweak the colors later if needed. You can also submit any other ideas you have. Out of your two we like concept 1 much better so you if you have a 3rd and 4th concept please feel free to submit them also :)

Jason: Where are you? You won my last logo contest for the Gracetek_logo so I am hoping to see something from you again :) Hint hint!

A few more notes to all the others working on designs or planning to submit a design… we really like the font used for the word Photography is Aaron’s 1st concept. Also a new thing to try in case you can come up with something cool is somehow splitting the e between one and exposure. I don’t know if that make sense or not but hey use your creativity :)

While we do like the simplicity we are hoping to see a few without just text.

RadicalSEED: Thanks for the design… We like the layout of the second one better however without the one in the O. Some other variation we think might look good also are if you move stretch the word photography across the bottom instead and run a small line that fades out from the bottom of the x over to the right. Also if you can try playing around adding a little color to it that would be great.

Jason: :) Hello again and thanks for submitting a design… Didn’t I want something “iconic” last time also and then I ended up not picking one of those. Actually we are open to both we just wanted more options to select from. Ok time to respond to you design… we have a few modifications we would like you to try. We wan to make sure people won’t mistake it as On Exposure so maybe we can try moving the orange to the X and we were thinking it might look nice if the X went down and blended into the box below. That way it would still look different in B&W. I hope that make sense and I look forward to seeing your modifications.

Aaron: We like the modifications you made to 1c and thanks for showing it to us in several colors. I think we have a good understanding and can leave it as is until the contest ends. If you have a different idea you want to submit also feel free otherwise we like that one as is.

Thanks again everyone and we hope to see more… a few other ideas someone can play with is a film strip of something similar to a flash going off. Maybe even a two part logo if you decide to go with something “iconic” so we can use just the name if needed.

Thanks for the new addition eziey... I am meeting with some people tonight to review and provide feedback to everyone. We will also try to let everyone know our favorite three so far. That way if anyone wants to submit a new design they will still have time. PS... we would still like a few more entries :rolleyes:

Ok thanks everyone… We had several people review them and we have decided on our top 3 from the ones that have been submitted so far. We are listing them in the order they were submitted.
Aaron – We really like concept 1 and concept 1c
Jason – We really like design 1a however we don’t like the X stretched down… I know I told you to do it:) But that is easily changed.
Eziey1 – We really like your design however, we would like to see something done a little different with the word Photography. Everyone looks at it for a second and then says wait… where is the P…. oh three it is. Can you try adding a P down below or somehow making it more obvious that if goes with both words?

So those are our top 3 at this point. Anyone wanting to modify there previous submissions is welcome to. We also hope to see a few new ideas. Maybe someone can try something using two strips of film for the X.

RadicalSEED – I wanted to give some additional information for you also… even though you aren’t in the top three we really like some soft of a combination of 1b and 2c. Try to work some color or something else in to it if you decide to submit any revisions.

Thanks again to everyone who has participated. Sorry for the delay in getting back to everyone I have been sick for the past few days. Because of that we are going to extend it until the 23rd to make our decision. We are having problems deciding between three of them and would like a few revisions if possible. Below are the three we like most.

Aaron: We really like your design however several people suggested merging both of your concepts into one. If we could have the font changed in concept 2 to match concept 1. That way we could use it with or without the box with the 1X in it. I hope that is understandable.

Jason: We really like your design however we aren’t sure about the colors. Would it be possible to see your deign 1a without the stretched X in a few different colors.

DesignGeneral: We really like the idea of your design however, is there anyway to make it more obvious that the X is past of the words. We think it looks very nice however, everyone reads it one posure. Also if we can see it in a few different colors.

If it isn’t that hard we would also like to see the updates on both black and white backgrounds.

Thanks to everyone else we didn’t comment on. While we really liked several of your designs we feel the three above really have something we are looking for. It is going to be a hard decision for us this weekend.

Do you have any particular colors in mind Mario? My thinking is, on black, that the main color will be either white or some light shade but the other a stand out, bright color. Did you like the gray so it could be used on white or black or would you like it white on the black background?

Hi Jason, I think the grey works good on both if you want to experiment wth white feel free. As far as colors we really don't have anything picked... but feel free to try some shade of blue.

We really like the look and feel of your design however, we think it still looks a little too much like one posure. Do you have anything else you can think of to do with it? I would like to thank everyone for submitting their designs. We really liked several of them but unfortunately we can only select one. We have run them through ALL of our friends and every one of our female friends preferred Jason’s design best. Thanks Jason and congratulations we are selecting your design. Hi Jason, Wow it took me a while to find this because it got moved. Ok the changes we would like to request. We like your original design #1 with the X matching the color instead of the E. Also we would like to request it in b/w and two colors if possible. The original color you posted it in and also in a bright bluish/purplish color.
