View Full Version : Lookthru.com website logo - Prize: $60
Hi Guys, (Admin code added by Palmer - 529440V)
I am after a logo for a site I recently designed LookThru.com (http://www.lookthru.com)
The logo must fit in with the design of the site. Please find image attached that you can use as your background.
ideas:
eye's on the o's
something to do with search
likes the findology.com (http://www.findology.com) logo
magnify glass that is over the text enlarging some of it
any other ideas you can come up with.
Final submissions to be posted by the 4th June.
this is a web logo - no need for a printable version
Please note that the display of the name should be LookThru.com and not LOOKthru.com

Hi Zoe,
Here's my idea for lookthru.com.
A WienerDog / BassetHound (couldn't make up my mind), WITH a magnifying-glass!
Let me know what you think.
-Kimber
Oh yeah, I know it may look a little big but it's proportionate to your background post.

awwww! wow I cant believe you drew that by hand, that is amazing!
That is adorable!
Thanks for the submission Kimber. I will get back to you with further comments.
does this girl work for Disney or what?
Hi Kimber,
The owner of LookThru said that he is after something that matches the design of the site a little better. That is the only comment he made. :(
He also wanted me to state that he would like the name to be displayed as LookThru.com and not LOOKthru.com
Thanks

"Matches the design of the site a little better".
Does that refer to imagery, or colour?

He doesn't feel the dog will work. :(

Unfortunately this logo is to similar to www.looksmart.com
He said this type of logo is headed in the right direction but thinks the yellow is the wrong colour for the rest of the site.
All: Colours to use may be light blues, white, greys with an outline etc... Please try and make something to match the rest of the design. : )
Maybe best to take the colours from the site???
just to let you guys know - I am not reselling your work at a higher price. I am just helping this guy out but don't want to give the store away. :)

It sure is, I've never even seen or heard of looksmart before. Too obvious of a concept I suppose, Thanks. :)

Yeah unfortunately there are so many small PPC search engines around that are not as well known that this name is competeing with. I didn't know of this site either until he mentioned it.

That's surprising you guys haven't heard of it as I thought looksmart.com was a fairly large and popular site.

Just in case you needed to use the top part to put your logo in as well, I've attached that... (hope that's ok Zoe)

This one is great!
Is there a way to space the L and k from the 2 hands so they can see the name better and no need for the .com?

Sure, I'll do that as soon as I get home!

This design looks awkward and the colours don't seem to fit.
Adding Personal comments: I would try the orange section the light blue I have used around the flash boxes.
The Look could be a different colour with white outline and a drop shaddow similar to thru. Possibly make the eyes look more like eyes???
Again these are my personal ideas - not the guy choosing the logo.... so do as you please with them... lol

1.1 is great! No more revisions required. Thank you
Just want to check to see if there are any other designers planning on entering this comp? :)

Could you make the font bolder and larger? More visable?
