I'm looking to develop a logo for an online shopping site (yet to be developed). The site URL is OnlineShoppingHub.com - Current site is very preliminary and I will be setting up a contest for the design of this site after finalizing the logo. I'm looking for a logo that simply incorporates the URL with unique and flashy appeal. I'd like both a B&W and color version of the logo. I do not have any preference in colors but keep in mind that whatever logo I choose will drive the colors of my website. I plan to use this logo in the header of my website pages. This website will be a clearinghouse for links to well-known stores & products. Deadline for making a decision on this logo is Sunday, January 23rd. My first feedback won't occur until at least late tomorrow (01/16) afternoon. Thank you in advance for your creativity!!

Thank you to Bill and Michael for your replies......let me attempt to provide my feedback to you and to the rest of the potential designers to help drum up some alternative concepts.

Bill - I like your concept overall but don't care for the slogan ("Shop All Day and Night") - I appreciate the creativity, however! I'm open to a slogan for this site if the right phrase can be found. I've been trying to come up with something. The main purpose of this site is to save people time and give them a starting point for all types of shopping (i.e. not just products). The intent is to have pages for shopping for products, jobs, mortgages, insurances, etc.

Michael - Although more plain, I like your concept alot. I especially like the use of "osh" as I was thinking along those same lines. I'm trying to figure out whether it's too plain (color scheme) and whether or not to incorporate a slogan. As I mentioned above, I'm open to a slogan. Specifically to go along with osh, I was thinking "Use the osh!" or something similar.

Overall, I'm still completely open to various color schemes but do like both of these options (one attacks the left-brain; the other right-brained persons). I definitely want a stand-alone trademark (like the shopping bags) as part of the design but I'm also interested in seeing if there are any other ideas. I really like the use of "osh" and I'm also open to other slogan suggestions to distinguish this site as a place for all types of shopping rather than a traditional product shopping site only.

Beth - Thanks for your entry. I like the attempt to bring together the various focus areas for this site. However, I just think that this alternative isn't as clean as the first two. Also, the pictures that were selected aren't self-explanatory as to their meaning. I'm thinking that the URL design with a distinguishing logo is more of what I'd like to see......also with a slogan if anyone has any creative ideas.

I'd also like to see some alternative concepts involving the URL (with different font types) and a creative logo other than a shopping bag!

Nathan - thanks for your entry. I have to say that this is along the lines of what I've been asking for ----> a combination of the URL with a unique and patentable corporate logo. The design sets itself up nicely for a slogan, although, as you stated I'm not sure that the sugggestion you've made is what I'm looking for. The use of the time aspect is very creative!! However, can you remove the line (clock hands) from the logo as well as remove the slogan (for now). I'd like to see what it looks like with these two elements removed. Lastly, can you give me two more color options to review in addition to the red/green - namely, orange and light (baby) blue.

Michael - Thank you for the follow-up design - you're really close to what I had in mind!! Great job! I like the simplicity of the design combined with a patentable logo.....tied together by a good slogan. Right now, you're in the lead.

Bill - Your first design is growing on me and I'd have to say that you're in second place. Can you remove the slogan for me and add the lowercase osh to the shopping bag. I don't mind the colors that you've chosen but wouldn't mind seeing a few other color combinations as well.

Paula - Thanks for the entry. Not a bad start but I just don't care much for the shopping cart. Any other ideas besides a shopping cart or shopping bag for a logo?

Nathan - Thanks for the revisions. Personally, I like your design but the consensus feedback from those I've polled isn't as good. I've been thinking about how we can tweak this to be more of an attention grabber.

Bill - Thanks for your reply with revisions. For your design, I'm leaning toward the green/purple. Can you show me your first and fourth options (above) with either a white or green osh (lowercase letters) on the bag.

ALL - Are there any other designers who are working on anything for this contest? If not, I pull the deadline up to this Friday to wrap things up so that I can move onto my website design. Please let me know if you're planning on entering.

After reviewing all of the entries, I continue to lean toward one of the entries. Therefore, I've decided to close this contest to avoid wasting the precious design time of all of you. The WINNING DESIGN I've selected is by mbleigh.

Michael - Your logo design won me over with the creative slogan. From that point on, I was comparing your's to each of the other alternatives. Great design - simple yet effective!

I'm going to be a pain in your butt for just a short time. I'd like to see just a couple of different variations (color, capitalization). I'm leaning toward just going with this original design but I'd like to take a look at a few alternatives (see below). I'll try to make a decision quickly to not drag this out very long. Would you please create the following options for review:

1) Capitalize the first letter of each word (O,S,H and color them the same light blue as the bag - the rest of the text black)
2) Same as above - but color O,S,H orange and color the osh on the bag orange.

Once I've decided upon final revisions, can I get a separate file for both the color and B/W versions, as well as a separate file for the color and B/W bag only? I'll be using this logo in HTML websites and E-zines.......what's best? .GIF?
