hello. i need a logo for a small plumbing company. the company is called "R. G. Wells & Co. Plumbing", the color palettes should be basic brown, blue and/or green -- and the logo to be simple and clean, nothing too fancy or flashy.
my preliminary idea -- client is open to this but not set on it:
"r. g. wells & co." (lower case in arial or something similar)
______________ (some kind of dividing line/s)
P L U M B I N G (justified, all caps)
the old logo incorporated a sketched mountain range in the background. if a simple version can be incorporated in a good looking way -- maybe arching over the "r g wells" -- that would be fantastic -- but it's not critical.
with that said, i defer to your expertise -- and look forward to seeing your creations!
thank you!

Can you upload an image of the old logo so we can see the mountain range graphic?
Thanks,
David

Not exactly a mountain scene, but thought I'd give it a go anyway :)

wow...there are some really great logos so far, i'm very impressed. i will try to find an electronic version of the old logo to upload, for now I'm attaching a picture of the mountain range and here are a few comments:
david: a great start, and i like the colors, but somehow the font and mountains seem a little steep, almost like a ski resort logo. maybe try to flatten it a little?
chicken: i like the font and design very much, what about changing the mountains to brown and using blue and/or green for the rest?
bill: i like this logo, but there is one reason i don't think it will work, which i should have said in my original request: the only other major plumbing company in this town has a wrench in their logo -- so i think this seems too similar.
lonely rabbit: of the three designs, i like the first one the best -- it is clean and simple. what about trying it with richer, more vibrant colors?
tonya: i like this, but, as noted above for bill, it is too similar to the company's competition's logo.
aaron: the design is different than i envisioned but i like it. what about trying it with blue and/or green? the client is pretty set on basic blue and green -- secondarily brown.
thank you to everyone! look forward to the second (and probably final) round!

hello all, sorry for not getting comments posted more quickly. again, everything looks great...
three general comments and then we'll be done:
1) drop the "& co." from the name
2) make the mountains look a little more like the attached picture
3) when using small "g" -- use the old style g (which means changing fonts i think). as reference, i know franklin gothic medium and book antiqua fonts both use the old style small g but are not necessarily what the font for this logo should be. want to keep it clean and simple.
i did talk to the client and the preferred images so far are: my chicken #3; MOZ; mowling and eziey 1.
thanks again, look forward to final submissions.
MOZ will be posting an updated version soon...Thank you
