Greetings from the frozen midwest tundra,

 Surprise, yes yet another Lawncare/Landscape company, hope all are getting thru the winter blahs o.k.

Allright heres what I'm looking for a logo that will help brand my company, to be used on business cards, white truck/trailer signage, shirts, envelopes, statements, hats, boxer shorts, bikinis, socks, sunglasses, cereal boxes, family dog, pet fish etc. you name it I'm gonna plaster it on everything. This will be highly visible and I am looking forward to seeing strong, unique, and tasteful creations. I would say no clip art but hey everyone says that so I guess I don't need to......no clip art LOL.

Company name: Hedge Above LLC,..... I would like to see Lawncare/Landscape or a variation thereof somewhere in the design.

Company slogan: "making your neighbors green with envy" Would like to try and get this in there to.

We are a newly formed Limited Liability Corporation engaged in all aspects of lawn/turf maintenance and areas of landscaping including reatining walls, paved walks, plant beds, woody ornamentals, trees, mulch installs.

Kind of partial to dark greens, medium to darker blues, and not to bright yellows, subtle grays, & pewter colors are good. But hey be creative in the color scheme as well and we'll see where it takes us. Looking for conotation of strength, trust, with tie-in to name. Winner declared 01/31/05.

O.K. book is done ;-) show me some stuff, oh yeah and kind of unique please, try and stay away from the grass blades (look) Tie-in to name thing again, kinda like a play on words: Hedge/Heads, with a Landscape theme

:D
Thanks
-Geoff

Thanks Adrian looks pretty cool like the use of colors not to sure about the design of the d in hedge, not really clear on what it (d) is representing. We are also looking at a possible change to slogan. Possible to see changes with "we're a hedge above the rest" & "making your nieghbors green with envy"

Thanks for the start

Thanks for feedback Geoff :)

The d in previous concept is a flower ( the stem, a leaf to the left, and a bud) :D

Here is another concept.

lonelyrabbit is there any feedback on mine?

Couple of changes I'd like to see: lose the little guy :D The greens are a bit too light for me, maybe use two colors that contrast each other but look natural together. Looking for more of a earthy/natural landscape design that would appeal to joe homeowner. Good first attempt though, Thanks lonelyrabbit!!

Adrian,

Like the use of the leaves definitely a step in the right direction. Still like the color scheme, could we see with "making your neighbors green with envy" slogan? See reply to lonelyrabbit on earthy/natural landscape concept.

could we see number threes slogan with number twos design?
don't really care for the flower for the letter d. Any ideas on using hardscapes theme i.e. block retaining walls, block paver walkways, drives, etc.

#4 looks pretty good, still like the leaves better than the flower. Could we take #4 and see what an accent line in between the name and the slogan would do? Thinking maybe reverse the colors for the accent line from the ones that you used in the name.

Do you have any other variations of this design as far as using a different font? if so would like to see also. Like #4 but want to be able to make some good comparisons.

Thanks

#6 Looks sweet the accent line works great for me I like what you've done with the green and envy part of the slogan in regards to color. Right now I'm going to wait for any others to pony up with design offerings, in order to get a variety and good comparison. Thanks so much for starting you have excceded my expectations so far, while I'm waiting for some other designs if you have anything else you want to throw out at me go for it & at this point do not feel constrained by all requirements pertaining to color or theme (obviously want to maintain Lawn/Landscape theme). Great job so far.

Adrian,

Just thinking last night (Scary) I still like #6 revision the best out of all you submitted so far, but think we really need to have the words Lawncare/Landscape in there somewhere, as I said #6 is your best so far so with that in mind I'll leave you to revise with extra verbage.

Hi Geoff,

Not quite sure where you want to add the Lawncare/Landscape words.

Should I add them below slogan?

Let me know.

Gulp!!!!

I'm not sure either I thought you would have idea...just kidding ;) I thought we could see how it would look between the slogan and name? Just a start, I really think if this is going to be something used as signage on vehicles, in addition to forms, cards, etc. there should be mention of exactly what we are about, what our business is. I'm concerned perhaps the customer/potential customer will not always make the connection? Does that make sense?

:)

Thanks

eziey,

All I can say is WOW!!! this is some outstanding work, getting right to what I'm looking for, clean image that displays an underlying theme of professionalism. Colors work very well together, use of the square shape upon its axis is a plus. A very strong image of how I envision our customers view of us.

An excellent submission and at the moment I see absolutely nothing that needs to be revised but will post if I do think of anything or after my wife gets a look.

I beleive you just raised the bar so to speak.

Thanks so much for your entry.

First off thanks guys for the response, the designs look pretty good, with that in mind, I would submit to you some changes:

cursal: Not real crazy on the heavy font style on the HEDGE ABOVE LLC maybe a different font style for that? A little thinner acent line, lighter shade of brown, darker green, lastly is it possible to use a full hedge row as opposed to the tree? Great design to work with, like that it does not hit me as "more of the same" I see others with. Thanks, for the submit, another good put together design. :D

-Geoff

davegk: This also is a very well done design, unique, not the same old thing, which is what I am looking for. Maybe a bit to contemporary for the area we live in though we are in a predominantly rural, midwest, farm area. Slightly conservative but relax not over the top conservative :D I liked design A the best but maybe a twist on the use of the bars could be a retaining wall look with say a "small" clump of ornamental grasses growing on one end? Could we see some contrasting colors that oppose each other? The greens are used well, but we would like to see some expansion on the color scheme, maybe the use of pewter or a light gray, with a variation of blue or hunter green? I like the font style for the name & slogan a lot!! keep that. Need to see Lawncare & Landscape in there somewhere though. Thanks David, this also is a solid entry, keep it up!!

graphixparanoid,

Thanks for the entry, it looks good. Hedge leaves are a good graphic, but could there be a bit more definition to them? i.e. maybe just a green outline of a leaf or something else to lend it some more depth. I'm just not real warm to that color of brown either, something else it could be changed to? Not really sure what maybe dark blue, I don't know just a thought. Good entry though welcome aboard and thanks again. :)

-Geoff

davegk,

Like the retaining wall look, maybe just make it on one side & a bit taller, try a dark green accent stripe instead of the bars in the middle, that go to a wheat colored clump of ornamental grass, you know the tall stuff that you see at golf courses, office complexes, etc. Again like the retaining wall, could it be a little more stone colored, maybe more of a contrast of grays by adding a third shade, and textured like stone? Revision looks really sweet though thanks again.

CBaker14:

Thanks for the entry, not bad, I'm just not to keen on the brown color :D sorry. Maybe a bifferent shade of brown? Khaki? Not really heck lay a new color on me I'm open to suggestion. I really like what you did with the accent stripe under the green in the slogan, the font on the name is a bit heavy for my tates though. Great effort and its appreciated!!

-Geoff

RadicalSEED:

Thank you for submitting a design,I like it a lot, need to see slogan incorporated into the design, maybe some way to set the tree in the circle a little more apart from the rest (some sort of definition) Great design, look forward to seeing more!! ;)

-Geoff

Taldo:

Looks good I love the contrasts in the fonts on the business name. A unique, not something you see everyday design, for a lawncare/landscape company. No changes to be made right now but will be sure to let you know if there need to be any down the road. Excellent first design!! Thanks for your entry.

-Geoff

graphixparanoid:

Thanks for the changes I really like the use of the blue color (this is a great promoter of trust for cutomer...blue=honesty..:-) ). I would like to see the leaves on the left side in a green outline with the leaf viens being green also, your almost there!! I'm not to wild about the vegetation on design submission2:1, sorry. :D Great work though.

David, pretty much there, I like design C the best of the three and I agree, lets see it with fewer colors maybe go with one tone of the green and back to the two with the grays (the two darker grays) and I think that will get it, great job thanks for the effort!!

-Geoff

lonelyrabbit, Great second entry! Couple small changes if you don't mind: The brown accent, lets change this to blue, kinda dark. The green on the name Hedge, this shade needs to be on the Above instead of the Hedge, then for the Hedge maybe go with a darker, deeper green. Think that may stand out more, but this is really good, oh and can we get the LLC on the end of name and the slogan somewhere in there to? :D

Great designs fellas & gals I'm really impressed!!

Looks great!! Think I like the third design down the best, I'd say you've got a good solid entry at this point rabbit, will be one to ponder over the weekend, thanks for the revisions, and the effort.

Thanks
-Geoff

davegk:

Like the top design (first one), contrasting grays look good, ornamental grass look is what I was shooting for, a wispy type looking grass. Taller wall helps to add a degree of scale to the green stripes, We're good where its at for your design!!Thank you also for the effort and requested revisions. looks terriffic!! ;)

-Geoff

Deanna:

Thanks for the entry looks very solid to me at this point, love the thin accent lines in the green on blue contrast. The hedge/leaf theme on the right side works well, like the circle design incorporated against the straight/clean lines of the name & slogan. One change for me and I think you will have it, fonts on the name Hedge Above LLC are, I'm afraid possibly going to be a bit difficult to distinguish in a clear way when viewed on a vehicle or trailer. Maybe try something that does not bring the B & E so scrunched at the bottom of the letters? The size in relation to the character thickness is perfect. Super first effort!!! Once the font is changed I think you'll be there.

Better, only thing is when I look at the v in above it looks like a u. I know what the name is and feel a lot of people would be able to recognize it as well. However I really want to leave nothing to chance with this so if I could ask for one more revision of the font please. Just looking for a clean crisp type of font that lends itself to this already clean and crisp design, something that leaves no ? mark as to what the name is. ;)

Wow again!!! Both designs you submitted "knock my socks off" I can see right now this will be a dificult decision, but thats good right?? Anyway only one very minor detail I would like to see you add if possible, maybe we try an accent swoosh/stripe under the green in slogan. This is great stuff so if we get that revision in I think it will be set. Thanks for the new & improved designs they are making me :D as I type.

-Geoff

cursal:

Yet another excellent submission!! The hedge is just how I wanted to see it, especially like it set against outline of the structure . I like the green for the accent/dividing stripe only thing I see for your design is maybe make that stripe/divide a bit narrower. I think this may allow a little more focus on the name and hedge portion ofthe design, thats it then I think yours is there as well. Thanks for the extra effort!!

Hello everybody, the time has come, I have decided upon the designer.

First I want to express my sincere appreciation and respect for the vast amount of talent that has been on display in this thread from all designers that took the time to post and revise. I had a very difficult time/task in decideing which of you to choose, that is a credit to the talent represented by all th outstanding designers on this board. Your efforts were very much appreciated.

Your welcome, your design set the standard to which I held others, which were all really impressive, just felt yours really hit the mark with respect to the professional image I desire.

Changes: Please make the LLC small, not lower case, same font just smaller size. Try about the size mychicken used in his first submission.

switch landscape and lawncare around, so it is displayed as Lawncare & Landscape.

Thats it I'll keep eye out for your revisions and then let you know if we are ready. One more request, I wondered if you could display it on a business card for me and a white Ford F250 extended cab truck? Just as an example. ;)
