Hi,
We're a well established, successful, Lawn Service in need of a fresh logo. The "PR-Fect" (perfect) is a play on words - not a misspelling. The owners name is P.R.
Prefer the following:
Logo to incorporate the name PR-Fect Lawn Service.
Logo must have picture or graphic of "a pair of cupped hands with a seedling growing in them" (copyright-able).
Logo can use various greens. Also white & blue. Asure blue like the outlined blue on this page's buttons. (Needs to come close to match company truck blue color.) Would also like some new ideas on colors.
Our motto (when you want it "perfect" - call us) is old and or "corny" to some and we would like some new ideas.
Our services include all the usual mowing, dethatching, seeding, aeration, etc. We also provide extensive pesticide applications & fertilization programs. Other services include tree and shrub trimming, felling trees, etc. We are experienced, licensed, insured, continued higher education, and have many excellent references.
Hopefully that is enough of a start here - never done this before.
We may like to add the letterhead/envelope/business cards package if anyone bites at this request and we find the "one".
Tag - you're it!

Hi :)
Three questions:
1. What's the amount you offer for this project?
2. What's the deadline?
3. Not exactly a question, but a remark:
We may like to add the letterhead/envelope/business cards package if anyone bites at this request and we find the "one".
You can either run another project here after having your logo done, or deal this matter directly with the winning designer for some additional price after he/she finishes yor logo. :)

Price = I entered $100 on the initial entry for the forum. Was I supposed to also post this? Sorry.
Deadline = ASAP - Spring fertilizations will begin in March and I would like to have this all setup and ready for this upcoming season.

Okay - soooo what am I doing wrong here? Is it because it's Sunday? Can I please have some other offers?
Bill - Like the try - but a bit too clip-arty for me. Something better with the "hands" portion maybe? Can we try something without the hands just to look at?

Yes it could be, I know that its common belief that designers work 24hrs 7 days a week but occasionally we do like the odd day off here & there.......but keep that under your hat, don't want folk thinking we have gone soft ;)
I'm sure you will get more entries during the course of the week.

I like the pic. The block name leaves me a little flat. Could we try a tad more 3Dish? I do really like the hands/seedling. Can the hands show more detail or is that getting picky? Like hhmmm...wrinkles, or real hands? More 3Dish? Just need ideas....Thanks. :weep:

My partner wants to know if some "depth" can be added to the entries. Wants to see some form of yellow incorporated - maybe some swirls of sun, maybe some sun coming into the hands, maybe some yellow-gold brush swishes for lines - etc. Also, a fine look to a finished lawn are known as "stripes". Mow one way - turn around - mow the other way. Can we incorporate a section of grass stripes on the bottom or base of the logo to make it MORE 3D EFFECT? Let the imaginations flow. We're not locked into any idea just yet. We don't like any "boxed-in" look. Free flowing and open.
Thanks for listening. All the work is still nice so far!!

eziey - love the concept #5. Can I see one with a softer / rounder font?
lonelyrabbit - love the letters, font, and especially like the small leaf for the dash symbol but can you omit and replace the "star / circle" thing with something different? Wonderful colors and the tapered line is GREAT! Also "services" needs to be singular as in "service".
Fabian - good, but not exactly the scene I was looking for. Would like to see more though please.
Bill - the "nothing less" theme is good. I didn't seem to well with the hands picture however. anything else? would still like to see something.

1 is the best, but the circle and leaf are still not what we want. Also, it sort of went ummm...flat? Just looks more...plain. Simple I guess is accurate. Looking for a little more lively. Still love the dual tone line and small dash leaf. Can you just incorporate a totally different thing for the circle pic? More like grass/lawn stuff?
I personally liked 3 - but the boss says a big n-o. It was cool -circle looks like it moves on it's own. Oh well... :weep:
Also, can you place some on the azure blue color. Want to see what it looks like on the "truck" color. Thanks for your patience...

My Chicken - like them both. We do like the grass in
GR #25 - MyChicken#4 and also GR #36 business card and green on bottom....can I say that? If not - let me know...
This design will go "on" an azure blue truck. It will be applied to the truck as just the logo - like applique. How will the blue in the design look? Can the colors be switched around a bit to compensate to an azure blue truck please. Would like to see how it looks on a business card also.
Lonelyrabbit - #34 and #28 PR3.jpg - can you make the font be caps like PR-Fect. Wish to additionally see font in black.
Also, this design will applique on an azure blue truck. Can the greens lighten up from the olive into something that will blend better with that color blue? Omit the stick man - maybe just the leaf in the circle instead.
Could you also do one for #34 and just place an identical line (like the bottom line) up on top and to the left a tad but equal on the design. Omit the circle and leaf.
Eziey - like #5 but the picture takes on a bit of "smiley face" in the logo. Can this be tweaked at all?
Fabian, can we see other ideas?
Not trying to criticize at all - and all of these entries are wonderful art! We simply have some difficult parameters to deal with here and sometimes can not convey all that via email. Thanks to all for all the patience and hard work! This is a great site!
Waiting to see....

Wow! Thanks for all the great designs! You all are making this decision really tough. You did help us decide to change the name of our business from service to "services". We really like that! The design team has also helped us rethink our motto of "When you want it perfect - call us" to "Perfect for you!" which will need to be in all future submissions.
My Chicken - can you make the following revisions but leave the old ones up so we can compare please -
42 #3 -
1. Omit the blue circle. The grass appears as though it's in water. Try something else with it.
2. Omit logo "Why settle for less?" and insert logo "Perfect for you!"
Use the same green color and same font and size.
42 #4 - a few new things as follows:
1. Make the name PR-FECT be all caps, and all green, and a slanted dash instead of the dot.
2. Round the far right-side corners of the brown background behind "lawn services".
3. Omit logo "Why settle for less?" and insert logo "Perfect for you!"
Use the same green color and same font and size.
4. Once those changes are made we would like to also see a second one with silver where the brown exists now for comparison.
Thank You and will anxiously wait to see....

Wow...this has been TOUGH staring at these for a few days!
I think we're down to this race:
My Chicken:
1.) Take the "PR-FECT" and the "Perfect for you!" font from #7 and place it in #6. Don't go olive green though. Stay with the same green. Make the "Perfect for you!" slightly larger and centered.
2.) I think we're hitting on the brown but not sure. The silver seems to make it fade away. Not good for the truck but nice for shirts, etc. Hhmmmm.??? Ideas, suggestions. Truck is blue...
Eziey:
Lovin it - but it's just a tad (little bit) flat. Saw your work in the archives for the fishing reel logo. REALLY liked the sword fish as it evolved. Seemed to come to life over the 3 or 4 revisions.
1.) Keep the PR-Fect font just as is.
2.) Add the "Perfect for you!" in there somewhere.
3.) The hands seem cut off at the wrists. Needs something...
4.) Can we see a couple business cards please.
Thanks for the time we've taken. Let's see what this will bring. :quiet:

How about navy instead of silver or brown? It'll work for the shirts and truck. As for the green, I'm not sure if you wanted to leave it in the darker green or lighter green. I made it the dark green for better visibility. :)

My Chicken:
#52 - We are very happy with this so far! Just a couple requests:
I need to see a silver background for the "lawn services" along with navy blue inside the grass diamond.
Please make two of these -
one with the light green in PR-Fect from #48
one with dark green in PR-Fect from #52
Place them both on the azur blue truck background. Hope that makes sense..??
additional request:
The grass will make or break this design for us. We do like it but wonder if you have any other possible alternatives? Just to compare? Thanks.
Eziey:
#53 - We are also very happy with this so far, but still a few changes:
Please re-insert the white outline "between" the hands. It was omitted on this last revision.
Please round the edge of the green background on the "lawn services" on the right side. Please make it lawn "services" not service.
Did not like where "Perfect for you!" is located. Can you change that font to something different and larger. Maybe not italics?? Also move it, or center it, with the PR-Fect. Thanks to you too.
Carl:
#54 - thanks for joining.
Very nice fonts, and colors in them. The Spring pea green is GREAT! The "design" on the pic however is just not for us I guess. While it does (to me) portray a pristine, glistening image (a.k.a. perfect) it just isn't quite what I'm looking for. The stripe or ribbon of grass is cool but the "glow" up above is more the issue. Can I invite you to try something else? (Didn't mean to rip it apart - hope you don't take it that way. It's VERY nice - just not right for us.)
Thanks VERY much to all. Patiently awaiting changes... :)

Excellent! Please leave this one in tact as a "potential" candidate for the final pick!
We are receiving disappointing feedback - that the seedling in the hands makes it look more like a seed company than a lawn service. Can you create a second logo that offers something different - leaning more toward grass? Just comparing our options at this point. Thanks Eziey. You're very talented AND patient!!

Wonderful! Love it!
Please take #10 and revise the following:
1.) make the two white stipes in the diamond be DARK green.
2.) make the PR-FECT and the Perfect for you! be DARK green.
3.) place on backgrounds of white, blue, letterhead, and business card. :wizard:

Hi,
We should get the logo to where you like it. As far as business card and letterhead are concerned, you can either hold another contest or have the winner design them. What I gave you was just a quick sample.
Any changes to the actual logo? Please advise... :)

Hi :)
A note to the client: the stationary mockups are included in the logo entries only to demonstrate the look of the logo on specific formats and are not to be part of the revision process during the project, sorry :) If you want the winning designer to create the stationary for you (as you stated in your brief) then you should first finish the logo project and then negotiate the additional work directly with the designer :)
Cheers!

Diamond inside - LIGHT blue
Diamond stripes - back to white and LIGHT green
