I have an online retail store that is doing well and I would like to get a really impressive logo. The name of the site is EliteDeals.com (http://www.elitedeals.com). I sell a variety of things from kitchen appliances, cookware to canopies and golf clubs. I am starting to concentrate on hanging pot racks and bar accessories. I would like for the logo to lean more towards the kitchen sales because that is what I will probably be in for the long run (esp. pot racks).
The winner will be awarded $150. I want the logo to be very professional looking and crisp. I also want it to be a logo that you can look at and know that it says EliteDeals.com when you look at it (not have to guess what it says). I do like the maroon/bergundy color that is on the website but not stuck on that.
I would like it for use on my website but also eventually on T shirts, stationary, and boxes, etc. (Can somebody tell me what formats I need these in for each one of these?)
I will probably be pretty picky because I want it to be perfect so please be patient. I am not in any hurry but I believe I will know the one I want when I see it. I do not have a time limit but would certainly like to have one by 2 weeks. I am sure I will think of things to add. Thank you all in advance, I have seen some of your work and it is incredible. I can't wait to see your magic!
Chris

An eps is the way to go for these applications. The vector format will scale cleanly for the multiple size requirements and is by far the preferred format of any professional printer. For your website: gif, jpg or png. Depends on how your site is built.

Ed - I just noticed that my chef hat is similar (sort of) to your post. Do you need me to remove my entry or is there room for two similar concepts in this contest? Let me know your position on this. Thanks!

:D It's alright Kooch, I'll let ya slide this time. From now on, though - no peeking, eyes on your own paper!

Ed,
We like your first one the best out of all of them. I would like to see more ideas before we make a decision though. We were expecting to see a little more variety from everybody and perhaps we are being impatient. We are not sure exactly what we are looking for that is why we want to let your professional minds give us some ideas. I will try and keep you guys more updated since the holiday is over.

I did notice a lot of cooking ones. Probably because of this quote...
I would like for the logo to lean more towards the kitchen sales because that is what I will probably be in for the long run (esp. pot racks).
Do you have some suggestions for them for another direction they can try?

I think the holiday weekend slowed things down a bit. Plus, a lot of the designers wait for responses from you so they can get an idea of what you like/don't like. Prior to that it's pretty much like throwing darts in the dark.
It's helpful if you can be more descriptive about what you like or dislike about each of the entries. That way the designers can get into your head a little more.

What I liked about Ed's first entry that it was clear to read, professional looking, and the chef's hat made it memorable. I guess I have reservations on taking it for a couple of reasons. Mainly because I wanted to look through more different entries before I chose one. Also, because I don't sell just kitchen stuff, I don't know how it will fit with the rest of the store. I don't know if it is possible to make a few of the same logo that I could use throughout the store for now that have different themes. Eventually I want my store to be totally kitchen items in which that would be fine. Any suggestions or entries would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hello,
Please accept this as my design for your logo.
When I read: ELITE DEALS, I immediately thought of "serving you (deals) on a silver platter".
I just dunno where these things come from sometimes.
Anyways, here's my entry.
(Just in case its not obvious, those are hands) ;)
Please advise,
Kimber

To help us out with this competition, can you post example of other logos that you like? I originally went with the cooking direction because you mentioned that you were pursuing the kitchen market. But I will rethink in more general terms.

Thank you guys so much for the awesome replies. Sorry I have not given much feedback but our store has been so busy lately I have been running everywhere. I am very impressed with the entries. After initially indicating that I was leaning toward kitchen items, I have decided that I would rather have a logo without a kitchen feel to it because I do sell other stuff.
My wife and I both really like ElKootcho one at the top of the 2nd page (ElKootcho_03). I like that it is nice and crisp looking, professional, and easy to read. I am not positive that is the one we want but I know it is that simple, yet professional look that we are after.
I will put a deadline on the competition for a week from this Thursday (I believe the 12th). Any additional entries would be greatly appreciated. ElKootcho: can you move around the colors some on the logo and try some variations? Would there be any place on the logo to add a slogan like john did in his logo (btw nice work John)?
Thanks again everybody and I look forward to more of your work.

Here's a few color options, keeping in mind the burgundy/tan color scheme of your site.
