Hi All! (Admin code added by Palmer - S631814F)

Put away your Straight Edges and Smooth Shapes. It's time to let your Artistic Side shine through.

6/4/03

I have reviewed all the logos so far and there are a couple that I really like. I solicited comments from friends, co-workers, and family to see what they would think of when they saw the various ideas. Some of their responses were completely unexpected.

Tuxedo: I’m a Men’s Fashion store or Rental Store
Artist’s Palette: I’m a painter
The beverage glasses: I do alcoholic events
Bride & Groom: I only plan weddings

Since I don’t want a logo that’s going to make people think I specialize in a certain area or do something I don’t, I think I’m going to have to change my thought of wanting my actual logo to be a picture representing what we do, to a logo that is just a symbol instead. (ie. Nike Swoosh, etc)

I did like the middle of the last entry from ejlain because it portrays a general party which could be a wedding, outing, birthday, etc and doesn’t limit me to any one event in particular. However I think the logo might be a bit difficult (intricate) to re-create on things like embroidery for shirts.

So, can you come up with some sort of artistic design for a logo that is next to the company name (or behind it or around it or whatever), but just not a picture that only portrays one aspect of our company?

My favorite fonts are:
Ondarox in the post with the logo with 4 dots
ElKootcho in the original Tuxedo post
Ondarox with the retro beverage glasses (same font as the first one I think)

Thanks and I look forward to seeing more Great Ideas!

**END UPDATE**

I am the owner of Event Artistry. Event Artistry is an Event planning company specializing in Weddings, Parties, Corporate Events, etc. When you want your event to have an artistic flair, you contact us. Or if you just want a simple, but great event, we can do that too. I am looking for a logo that will reflect the Artistic side of the company.

Our current Motto is: The Premier way to plan your next Great Event. I don't need this in the logo anywhere but that's the belief we go off of. We take event planning to a higher level. Weddings are our primary focus (though I don't want to limit the corporate planning side as the business grows).

Logo will be used on the Web Page (currently at www.eventartistry.net (http://www.eventartistry.net)), business cards, letterhead, and brochures for sure, possibly on magnetic signs for my truck, etc. Feel free to browse the website to get more info about the company but you don’t need to follow the colors on the web page, it’s just a standard theme I used to get it going. I want to be able to pull the image/picture/icon out of the logo to use separately (ie. as a watermark, etc.)

I have some ideas I’ve thought of but I don’t want to influence your designs. I want to see what you come up with first and if nothing is what I had in mind, I’ll post something thoughts I had.

Any and all ideas will be great and I'll give feedback on them as quickly as I can because I'm not sure what to expect or even what I'll like. Also please ask any questions that I can clarify for you along the way.

I'm setting the Deadline for 2 weeks (6/9/03) but I will extend it the perfect logo hasn't been submitted by then. There's no desperate need for me to have it by a certain date but the sooner the better so I can have my literature printed up.

On that note, Good Luck and lets see what you can do. :)

I guess I'll post the first. Something totally unexpected I think.

I like it... and it is totally unexpected from what I was envisioning. I would like to see something that conveys what we do (Events - weddings, corporate events, birthdays, etc). I like the flourish on the bottom, very classy. Not ruling it out, just want to see more!

How about these?

We thought about the "EA" angle. However there is another event company in the area that has a totally different name with just happens to have two words beginning with "E" and "A". They use those letters as their logo, so I don't think I want to (even though this has a completely different look). I would definitely like an icon of some sort.

jmberra22 - one more...anything close to what you are looking for?

That doesn't do anything for me. It doesn't show anything to let a viewer know what our company does.

Ondarox - Love the Font and how the words are layed out together. However I want to have some sort of icon/logo/picture to go along with the name.

TO ALL:
Here's the ideas I originally thought of.

1) a black & white outline of a wedding or a bride and groom that is in the process of being colored in by a paintbrush to show that we add the pizazz to an event

2) something with an artist's pallette

3) a brush painting an event(s)

Not sure if that will help but I guess we really want an actual picture to go along with the company name. We don't want to ONLY show a wedding or bride and groom because we do other events, but maybe some way of showing multiple things.

Another for your consideration. I think the tux image works well as it fits for many high-class events, not just weddings.

Well here's my updates for the latest batch...

ubergerlgeek I like the Font but not the color. I think it is partly because it's too much of the same color. Also, the palette needs something more to it but I don't care for the stars.

jmberra22 It took me too long to figure out what the picture was. It's not something you can just glance at and know what it means.

ElKootcho I like the Tuxedo idea and I agree with your reasoning. I'd like to see a black & white version of it. This is among my favorites so far. If you have any other designs along this same line, I'd be interested in seeing them also. I also like this font.

ejlain I like the 3rd one in your grouping. I like the palette and brushes though I don't care for the colors or how the dot on the "i" looks like it's in the middle of the word Event. There's something about the bride and groom in the picture that bothers me but I'm not sure if it's just the coloring or something else. Could you expand on this idea further?

ondarox I'd still really like to see your design done without the 4 colored dots but with some sort of graphic instead if you can come up with an idea. This is also among my favorites.

These are great ideas so far. We are getting closer!

Can you redo this logo without the glasses but keep the paint brush? Also can you reposition the brush so it looks like it's writing the big "A" or finishing the "Y" in Artistry?

Thanks.

Thank you to everyone for all your creative submissions for the Event Artistry logo. We have picked Ondarox as the winner! It was a tough choice because there were several we have been hemming and hawing over for the last couple of weeks, but Ondarox came up with the one that fit our style the best – artistic yet elegant while still remaining grounded.

Ondarox, can you tweak a couple of things for us and then give the file to us in several different formats? Keep in mind I do need to be able to shrink and enlarge the image for different reasons (business card, posters, vehicle labels, etc)

1) The text (font, size, layout, etc) in the version with the drinks is my favorite (although I can’t currently view it in the previous message dated Jun 1 2003, 12:41 PM). I would like to use that one but just pull out the drinks. I like the position and size of the “A” in Artistry. You can leave the paint brush in the direction it is going in that one.

2) Can you also do a version of the same one but with line “Premier Event Planning” incorporated like you did in your later post (so I want one version with and one without the tag line)?

3) Can you direct me to or give me a font that would match the “A”? I would like to be able to pull out a different capital letter of the same font and use it to begin a paragraph, etc. If you could also let me know about the font for the word “Event” that would be great as well.

4) Finally, I would like the paint brush in a file all by itself. I can do it in Paint Shop Pro, but if you can get me a better file than I can do that way, I would greatly appreciate. I might have situations where I want to use that as a symbol.

Thanks so much! We are so excited to get this added to our brochures, etc. There were some people who thought that the paint brush implied painting, but I love it! Actually, the idea was very much like some drawings I had done months ago, so I really did come back to what I originally wanted! I just couldn’t have drawn or created it like a pro! You can email the files (or questions) to kelemvor@execpc.com.
