Hi,
I am in need of a door hanger design by the great designers of Design Outpost.
What I Want to be involved in the door hanger:
Color
I am going to be printing these door hangers at 48hourprint.com in full color. I want a full color door hanger that has no blank white spots on the background (except for white text is acceptable).
Size
The door hangers will be printed on 3.5" X 8.5" paper. They will be double sided. There must be a hole at the top for where the hole is on the door hanger paper.
What to Include
Lawn maintenance (mowing, trimming, etc)
Mulch Installation
Fall Clean Up
Other Information to Include
XXX-XXX-XXX (phone number will be provided to winning designer to edit in)
Visit: [removed]
Professional and friendly service
Personalized programs
Outstanding service
Quality workmanship
Reliable
Responsive to your needs
Affordable
The [removed] name must be on the door hanger.
Online Payments
Online Account Status for every Client
My provided logo at the bottom of this page must be somewhere in the door hanger.
Formats
The door hanger must be sent in .PSD and a format that 48hourprint.com accepts for printing.
Design
Well, I'm going to leave this up to you. I would not like a house that is excessively used on other designs, but I am not going to say you can't have a house in the design.
That is all I can think of for right now. If you have any questions I will respond to them and I will be here throughout the design process to give comments. The winning designer will be chosen on 2-27-2005.
ALarsh
EDIT: I have thought of another thing to say on the door hanger, and that is:
One Time or Annual Service Programs
Ask about our referral program
All of this information and the information above does not have to be in a bulleted list. You can be creative with it; I don't want to be hindering your creativity. I am always open to new ideas.

Something to get things started. Bold colors, clean and easy to read. Feedback is appreciated.

ElKootch - Thanks for your submission
- Under "Complete Lawn Maintenance", could you take out the "fertilization"?
- Can you take the "Complete" out of "Complete Lawn Maintenance" as we really do not provide full service lawn maintenance program. It should just say "Lawn Maintenance"
- Could you play around with different background themes/colors?
Thank You,
ALarsh

Let me make myself a little clearer:
- By background themes/colors, I mean the yellow area. The top and bottom look good.

Another look. I wanted something atypical of what you typically see from a landscaper.

I like that second design better.
- I have to go now until Sunday afternoon. I will ask for changes then
Just so I know, are there any other designers planning to participate with this contest?

By the way, I did read your comment about editing the text (take out fertilizing, etc) I'll get that change posted soon. Sorry for neglecting that earlier. :)

ElKootcho - Where the "[removed]" words are under the logo design, can I see what it looks like without the white area highlighting the letters?
Trysen - Thanks for your submission. The design looks a little plain. Could you add some pictures in the design to spruce it up? Could you have a different background color/design to make it appeal more attractive? I also do not like the lawn mower at the bottom as I would not want to have the image the "Lawn Mower Kid".
Thank You.

ElKootcho - Where the "Clean Cut Lawn Service" words are under the logo design, can I see what it looks like without the white area highlighting the letters?

Dear, ALarsh!
I just wanted to say that every information on the door hanger is easily changeable and replaceable.
Thank you for your time! :D

Wow - Thanks for the designs. I was relying on the e-mail notification feature to send me e-mails when there is a reply but I guess it is not working?
Fabian - The dark cloud in the picture does not go along well with a well manicured landscape image. I like the back, but could you change the front to a more desirable picture/design?
castell - I like your design. Could you change "Affordable costs" to just "Affordable"? It looks like on the front side the web site is more blended in than the back, could you change the website on the front to look more like the back?
All Designers in General:
I have noticed that some designers have put in "Responsiveness to your needs". Could this be changed to "Responsive to your needs"?
Could we add in, "Ask about our referral program"?
Please note, all of the designers do not have to edit this into their design, but it will be asked to be done by the winning designer.
Thank You.
Fabian

I've updated the text as you requested and added the "Referral" snipe at the top. Let me know if you'd like to see any additional changes.
This doorhanger has been built to 48printing specifications and all text falls with in their defined safty margins.

Here are further revisions plus details to ensure you about the high quality of both sides of the images and the text.
Both sided of the door hanger are at 250dpi (this means that they can be printed anywhere without lossing any quality.
Moreover, the doorhangers are created correspondingly to the 48hourprint.com regulations for best results.

I have received the files and everything looks good.
Castell - When I send the files to 48hourprint.com, should I send them the files with bleed or without bleed?
Thank You.
ALarsh

I have contacted 48hourprint.com and they said I need to have a 1/8 inch bleed on all corners.
In the "Bleed" document you sent me, does it have a 1/8 inch bleed? When I send that file (if it is indeed a 1/8 inch bleed) will the blue lines be printed that are shown?
Thanks
castell

Hello, ALarsh!
I have just sent you a link to the files(via PM) with the bleeding(1/8"), which you specified that was needed by "48hourprint.com".
As for the blue lines. They won't be seen when the door hanger is printed. They are just to make the life of designers easier by providing with further precision.
Thank You,
Galin
