View Full Version : [Project Complete] Gleem Studios Logo

(Admin code added by Palmer - 6F711524V)

My company Gleem Studios needs a new logo to help build our brand and identity. We have been providing web hosting, design and development services since 2000, and its now time for a change.

We are in the process of launching a new site that will be expanding services and we would love to have I nice logo to be introduced with it.
To get an idea of the new site design please see the following link - it's not complete but should give you an idea:
New Gleem Site (http://www.gleem.com/brand/g2a.jpg)

I'm looking for something very simple and clean, that would be able to fit with the new site design. I tend to favor more circular type of icon designs, positioned to the left of the text, but I'm open to new ideas. I would also like the concept to have some connection to our name and our foucs. Some keywords that may help:
vibrant, positive, fun, energetic, simplified

Overall, I'm looking for something with a very simple and professional design. However, don't be affraid to give it some personality to capture the keywords I listed above.

The name of the company is Gleem Studios, but we usually only use "Gleeem".
Some tag lines you could include:
- internet solutions
- make it shine

Here are some examples of logos with styles similar to what I'm looking for - very simple and clean

http://gleem.com/brand/gleem_sample.jpg

Thanks gang! I look forward to seeing what develops.

Thanks for joining eziey and Deanna.

Below is my feedback and also some examples that may help with the concept-

eziey
The design is to "bold" for what I'm looking for (see the logo samples I recently added in the project decription). I like what you have done with the "G" but I would prefer having a symbol that was not letter based. something more abstract that could capture the name (i know it's not an easy concept :weep: ).

Deanna
I'm looking for something a lot more simple and not so strong. I would prefer the text to be more of a corporate style. I would also keep the icon seperate from the the text.

Take a look at the samples I recenlty added in the project description. I'm using these as examples to illustrate the overall style I'm looking for. The main things to keep in mind here is minimal and simple

Hope that helps.. Please let me know if I can provide any further details.

Thanks,
Kevin

Welcome lonelyrabbit

You are on the right track with the simplicity of your design. Try moving away from using the "G" as the icon, and try using another font that is less bold. However, I do like the "studios" font.

Please review my comments and the logos above for more information.

Your design is similar to Deanna's. Please see my comments above
Thanks

eziey
Better but still not really what I'm looking for. Try doing something with the icon to the left of the text. The icon should be small - no higher than that of the text. Keep working on the circle ideas - try thinking of ways to show expansion. this is an example of what i mean:
http://www.logoed.fsnet.co.uk/logos/page03/echo-logo.gif

DesignGeneral
Interesting concept. I like the bouncy and bubbly feel it has. Keep working on this idea but take out the center circle. Try some variations of the layout of the circles and their style.

Thanks everyone!

I like what you have but I would like to see some other variations. Maybe something with the circles coming downward toward gleem (like they are shining down), or try the opposite, where they are moving away from gleem (shining out).

Also, try working with a font that is a little more crisp. What you have isn't bad but I would like to see something like what you have here (http://www.designoutpost.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=31333&stc=1)

Thanks

Hello all,
Please see my comments below:

Deanna
Sorry, this is still to strong for what I'm looking for.
Thanks

Welcome Mark and Bill
Both examples are not the style I'm looking for. I would prefer to have an icon with the logo.
Thanks

lonelyrabbit
Not bad. I like the previous example better with the circles a bit skewed - just didn't want to have the "g". try some examples similar to the first.
Thanks

RadicalSEED
I like your design but i don't want the "g" in the symbol. keep working on something similar. also, try a less bold font, something very crisp, and take out the box around "studios".
Looks good, thanks

DesignGeneral
#3 looks nice but #4 isn't as good. I would still like to see an example from my previous comment when I mentioned showing the circles as if they are moving away from gleem (shining out). Also, did you try using a similar font as mentioned before, like the one you show her (http://www.designoutpost.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=31333&stc=1)
The "gleem" still looks to bold.
Thanks

Welcome Taldo
You did a good job in capturing the clean and simple style I want. I like the balance you have with the symbol and font, so stay with that. Play around some with some simlar concepts. Also, try using a sans serif font, something like at gettyimages (http://creative.gettyimages.com)
I do like the lowercase.
Thanks

I appreciate everyones help. Keep up the good work and please feel free to ask any questions that I can help with.

I'm loooking for something more similar like the circles below.
See if you can think of some similar ideas.
Also, try to using a less bold font. Something more similar to the font below.
Thanks

Adrian
Looking back I think you had it best with the layout of #2. I like the crisp text you have in your last example but I don't care for the "e".
Keep with the layout for #2, but take a look at the examples provided below and see if you may have a few other concepts.

Looks good, everything looks in order. Maybe not so much spacing between the letters in gleem. Also, instead of "studios" it should be either: "internet solutions" or "make it shine"
I would like to see one more concept similar to the black and grey circle design in my last post. I remember seeing a project that you had posted something similar but I can't find it.

Don't let me get in your way.. You creativity is on the move and i'm liking what you are doing. As it stands #10 is probably my favorite. I would like to see the symbol turned so the curves are on top, rather than the side. Also, try making the curves just a bit thinner.

keep it up, because I don't expect the other talent on this forum to simply let you walk away with this, Adrian. :P

Better... Try taking out the yellow gradient in the center. The size of the font is to dominant and not really the exact style i'm looking for. try a font with nice even lines

Welcome Fabian
Thanks for joining. I see you are trying to follow some of my examples, however, the curves I see on yours are not showing any "energy". they kind of look like they may be falling down. Let it shine Fabian :)

Adrian
Ok, you've given me a lot to look at so I'll try to narrow some of my choices down for you.
I'm kind of stuck somewhere in between #8 #10. #8 gives a very nice simple representation of something "shining". However, #10 adds a little more style but doesn't come across as meaningful.. I know that's not really giving you any direction, so just keep doing your thing.

Thanks everyone

Good day, Mark
Much better concept. I don't know if you read my previous comments, but I'm trying to move away from having the "G" being part of the symbol (it's a long story). However, your design still has style and i like what you were doing with the circles. Keep with that simpleness and see if you can put something together - just a couple things to help me get a better perspective:

- put the symbol to left of the text instead above.
- see if you another font a little more similar to the one i show the description -
http://gleem.com/brand/g_text.png
- also be sure to keep focus on the shape examples in the desccription if you need ideas. i'm not looking for a copy but they illustrate a perfect example of how simple i want this to be, while looking professional.

Thanks

Yes, now you are starting to get in there. You've got a solid design there and you've stripped it down nicely. the font is still a little heavy, but don't worry much about that for now. Keep focus on the symbol and see if you can think of some variations similar to what you have... whatever you do, don't let it get out of control..

Not sure about the symbol. reminds me to much of a gun target. however, the overall layout looks good. just need something different for the icon.

samoyloff
The font is called Benjamin-Medium (http://www.myfonts.com/fonts/wilton/benjamin/medium/)
The logo looks good, but i feel the design is to common.. don't feel you have to stay exactly with that style. i'm open to a lot of other concepts, all i ask is to keep it minimal

eziey
good to see you again.
i like that you came in with something different. It's a great design but I would prefer something more contained and balanced. you have all the makings of the logo, it just needs to be put in order. don't stop now - it's almost the last 24 hours.

Carl
Glad to see you could stop by.
Your design did what it was suppose to by capturing a lot of the keywords of gleem, and you also kept everyting really clean and simple. However, the arches above the "l" make the logo seem to high for me.. I want this logo to have a nice soft balance, so neither the text are icon is taking over. This nike logo is a good example of what i'm trying to capture:

Hi Everyone,

I appreciate everyones efforts so far and I have seen some very nice concepts.

To help put things into perspective for the last hours of the project, I have listed the logos that have caught my attention and display the style and quality i'm looking for. This does not mean I have settled on any of these logos, and there's still plenty of time left for new concepts to be considered. So please don't hesitate to submit examples if your name isn't on the list below. I'm simply using this as a guide to possibly help others see what I'm interested in..

Mark,
hmm.. I can see the similarity but also can understand the likelihood of the occurrence. The style of design I want is so minimal with basic shapes, that many of the concepts probably can be found in other logos, as well. I guess similarities are bound to happen.

I do appreciate you making me aware this and will take it into consideration. However, please know that I have no concern or question of the authenticity of your concept(s).

Thanks

I always get a good feel from your designs because you seem to capture the clean, crisp and balanced layout almost perfect. But the design of your symbol is not really holding up. Thanks for the example. All your concepts have been very nice. I wanted to see if you could do an example like you have in #8 (the bottom example) but with the thicker top arch like you show in #10 & #11

Also, I'm still very much in favor of your #7 concept. You can see I posted a simlar example in my last post but it has a little more randomness of the circles. If you want, see if you can give #7 some variety similar to what I have shown.

Thanks for jumping in. Your concepts are nice; comp #3 is probably more in line with the style i'm looking for.. I'd prefer something more balanced with the overall shape of the circle. Something very simple just like below:

I also like the design of your EveryMessage (http://69.193.60.111/portfolio/images/logos/everymessage.gif) logo.

I'm mostly looking for overall concepts at this point, especially in regard to the icon design. Any posted concepts can be very simple without extra time needed in details (font style, colors, etc). I'll get the general idea.

After much consideration I have chosen DesignGeneral as the winner for Gleem Studios logo. Adrian came in strong and provided several examples that captured the clean and minimal style I was looking for. His #7 (http://www.designoutpost.com/forums/showpost.php?p=132491&postcount=27) was a favorite from early in the contest. Then he continued to deliver several other inspiring concepts. The one I have chosen is #16 (http://www.designoutpost.com/forums/showpost.php?p=132491&postcount=80)

I would also like to give special thanks to the following designers that made my decision a lot harder:

Taldo
Displayed some excellent examples and delivered some very clean and crisp layouts. I think with more time Taldo could of easily took lead.

Fabian
A true designer that had solid determination to understand what the client wanted and did not let go until he found it. His final example had really caught my attention and his motivation was just as inpiring.

Mark
First, I would like to give thanks to Mark for helping me get started with my first project here. Mark has a style of design that is smooth and bold, and delivers identity that stands strong. Mark has what it takes and he offered me some very nice designs. Thanks Mark.

eziey
I think it goes without saying that eziey is one talented designer and brings the competition to every contest he enters. eziey's style is quick to adjust to any project and he makes his mark by demonstrating designs that oooze of style and beauty that can make clients fall in love :P

Also wanted to say thanks to:
samoyloff & RadicalSEED
They both stayed with the project and continued to deliver examples that kept getting better.

Finally, thanks to all the other designers here, you haven't been forgetten and I appreciate all your efforts for helping me with this project. I'm sure I will be back soon.

Adrian, I don't have any requested changes or edits with the logo. Looks fine the way it is.

Thanks again everyone!
