Project Scope: New site focused on art schools to launch on or about 03.1.2005. The initial proposal is for two one page templates, but we retain the option of contracting the successful designer to create all site pages.
The new site will promote campus-based and online art schools in the U.S. and Canada. It will be similar to All Star Directories’ current art school site, but will have a different name, domain URL, and UI. Users searching for art programs, such as interior design and photography, will be able to find schools by state location, areas of study, degrees offered, and those that are specifically online programs. The site will feature links to existing school “fact pages” on http://www.allartschools.com/featured/ where users can learn more about each school. An example is the fact page for Mt. Sierra College at http://www.allartschools.com/schools/ID979/
The site will also feature links to existing “Request Info” template forms on allartschools.com, such as the template for Mt. Sierra College at http://www.allartschools.com/r/?schoolID=979
Site name and domain: The site will be called simply “Art Schools,” and its domain is TBD.
Site specifications: The Art Schools site will have the following site specifications:
• In general, we’d like the new site to be similar to the current http://www.allartschools.com/featured/ site, but differ enough in design elements so that the two sites do not look like the same site. We’d like a simple, clean site without distracting elements.
• The final Art Schools site will have a home page and 24 additional pages. The initial one page template should be the Art Schools home page. The other pages will correspond to the links viewed in the right hand column on the existing site, http://www.allartschools.com/featured/ Included in the 25 total page count will be an “About Us” page. The link to the About Us page should be at the bottom of all pages.
• We have created a home page mockup of how we would like the site structured. More specifications follow the mockup.

• The Art School title should be large font text, not an image file. Some graphical treatment of the title is fine, such as lines to offset the title from the body of the page.
• The pages will consist of two columns: a narrow left hand column, similar in size to the right hand column on the existing site, http://www.allartschools.com/featured/ and a right hand column about the same size as the center column on the existing site http://www.allartschools.com/featured/
• Below the page title is the tag line “The Web’s most complete directory of art schools”
• The home page is a list of all schools on the site. Following the tag line is a text block, then the list of schools starting with online/distance schools, then by state and Canadian province, in alphabetical order (similar to what you see on http://www.allartschools.com/featured/ )
• Two buttons accompany each school. One goes to the school fact sheet and the other to the lead form on www.allartschools.com The mockup buttons are design suggestions only, we’re obviously looking for something more attractive.
• Links in the left nav column will open new site pages with subsets of art schools, based on online schools, degrees and areas of study offered. There will also be a persistent link to the home page (All Schools).
