(admin code added by Palmer - 09002J)

Okay, my business site needs a new look.

http://www.jalic.com

I wan't something fairly simple, with the following requirements:

1. I like the current colors.

2. There needs to be a left menu (no top menu) that is text based and has 2 sections (Services We Offer, Sites We Publish) It needs to be wide enough to accomodate the text "Search Engine Optimization" on one line.

I'd like this quickly. I'll give a timeperiod of 1 week so a deadline on June 6th... though I may elect to end it early if someone posts something I really like.

If you could do the layout in all CSS that'd be fun, but its not necessary. Markup isn't required but it'd be nice and may influence my final decision.

I'm not sure how simple you wanted it, but I think this is quite professional and simple looking. Let me know what you think!

I'm not exactly sure how attachments work, so here is a link to my server: click (http://www.ccmathteam.com/clients/jalic/jalic.gif)

Dan you can just use the IMG button to insert the template in to your message :)

Looks good DBurton, would you be including markup?

If you mean coding it in HTML, yes, that will be included :)

Howdy Aspen,

http://www.toniallen.com/jalic/

It's already coded...(just needs a clean-up).

Table layout, but fonts and links are CSS. (Im guessing the layout could be easily converted to pure CSS, so if you pick this one...I'll give all CSS a shot).

Take care,
Toni

So far I like Dburton's the best still.

Toni's isn't fancy enough... honestly if I wanted something that looked like that I would do it myself.

The others are a little too fancy. I rarely do consulting work for people, and I don't really care to. So I am not trying to wow something with the design. The purpose behind this redesign is to create a more efficient PageRank distribution system for my own sites. Though at the same time I'd like something nice, simply, and conservative. Why conservative? I don't know... cause fancy is everywhere you look.

Can you elaborate on how the template will contribute to your PageRank distribution?

Not really... I mean there isn't much to elaborate on. I simply need a text based left menu so I can send PR out to my sites. The current top menu is limited in size by the horizontal room, so it just doesn't work as well.

Here is something I put together. Clean and simple - easy to navigate. :)

Colours can be changed. Design will be provided in html. Table layout with CSS styles for all text content, links, H1 tags, body copy etc...

Definitely along the correct lines Demex, but I still like Dburton's better.

I'd like to end the contest a little early... I'm itching to get this done. So Wednesday will be the last day and on Thursday morning I'll declare a winner.

I was just thinking, CSS layout, and had a shot at this:
works perfecto in moz / IE (the only browsers I looked at it in) The whole site is only a few kilobytes B)

I do like the last two entries, but not as much as D.Burton's so sorry.

D.Burton is the winner.

D.Burton I just have a couple notes for you.

1. The "Jalic" header image directly above the content. I'd like that replaced with a standard <h1> tag.

2. The horizontal menu at the bottom ... keep it. I do like the way it looks. I'll probably change what the actually links in it are though.
