SharewareJunkies.com is the oldest software review site on the internet. We are still using our original logo from about 1996. It is time for a change.
To get an idea of what the logo looks like and the placement please take a look at our Homepage:
http://www.sharewarejunkies.com/
We also use derivatives of it on other pages, mostly on pages that contain the actual reviews. You can see one of those pages at:
http://sharewarejunkies.com/05zwd3/images_in_ice.htm
They are at the top and bottom of that page.
The logo also appears on smaller button types that company/authors use to link back to the reviews.
The logo and all of the derivatives needed appear on this page:
http://sharewarejunkies.com/logo_plain.htm
I imagine that a vector based main logo would be nice so that it could be re-sized.
The new logo should be around the same size as the old one. The only design element requirement that I can think of offhand is no syringes..
Thanks,
Mike

In yours could you somehow incorporate a cd in this, maybe of a different color.
Thanks,

Hi,
Trying to move this along.
I have had others look at the submitted designs.
The thing is they and most other people say that they like my current logo.
The big thing wrong with my present logo are the floppies. Could you try doing somethings with my present logo like completly eliminating the floppies?
Then on the left side where the floppies are do something with the circular design element.
Ideas that have been suggested are just round it out (the left circular element). Or add some Jewel Cases with design elements or CD's with design elements.
Thanks,
Mike

Galin,
Can you try this.
Leave the large SharewareJunkies.com alone.
Get rid of the floppies on both sides.
About the circular looking thing on the left hand side. After the floppies are removed, make it into a complete circle leaving the lightning looking thing in there.
Then we can go from there.
Thanks,
Mike

Hi,
The cd's somehow don't look right to me, they just seem to me to make the balance not right.
Since the main use of the logo is going to be on a website maybe the logo could be animated somehow.
Thanks,
Mike

maybe the logo could be animated somehow
The animation would most likely be done as a separate project in the elements forum. :)
I'll be back later tonight with something for you.

Hello,
Here is my entry;
http://www.mehmetsaygin.com/do/sharewarejunkies.jpg
and here are the animated versions as you requested;
click here for the animated logos (http://www.mehmetsaygin.com/do/junkies.html)
Please remember, animated versions are not included because of D.O logo contest rules.I just wanted to show you the possibility.
and here is how it looks on your homepage;
http://www.mehmetsaygin.com/do/sharewarepage.jpg
I tried to keep the dimensions of your current logo and tried to be develop something interesting and eye-catching.
Best,

Msaygin,
I like this concept.
Especially the animated one.
How would you do the smaller elements?
Like the one at the top of:

Thanks,
Mike
