We are in need of a tri-fold brouchure for an upcoming Professional Career Expo on April 27, 2005. This is a new concept in career fairs, because we are trying to attract active and passive job seekers -- people employed and unemployed.
The event is offering mini seminars for job seekers and employers. More detail can be found on our website at: RacineRecruit.com (http://www.RacineRecruit.com/dynamicdata/careerexpo.asp). Pleae do not use the color scheme that you see on our website, simply because we have multiple partners involved in this event.
Here's what we would like to see on the brochure:
The image we're trying to convey is full of energy, exciting and fun. This is all about career development, creating your future, and connecting with other people in business.
We recently had a logo created (thanks to Design Outpost). The file is attached.
Also attached is a poster (still in draft form) that displays the type of energy we would like to see in the brochure. We do not want the same graphic, however, but we prefer to stick with this color scheme. Clean lines, reds, blacks, etc.
We would like to include information that appeals to both employers and job seekers -- the benefits of attending the event can be found on our website.
The event is called, Southeastern Wisconsin Professional Career Expo. If you want to include a map, the event is being held at: 2320 Renaissance Blvd., Sturtevant, WI. A map to the event location can be found at: CATI (http://www.thecati.com/)
We need the date, time, and how to register on the brochure.
Also attached is a stock photo (purchased from istockphoto.com) of a man in a business suit running, similar to the girl in the poster. You do not have to use this photo if you have other ideas. It's just a suggestion.
One final note -- the only logo we want on the brochure is the attached logo for the Expo. However, we would like the sponsors to be mentioned somewhere on the brochure.
Thank you all!
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Beth

Pracus,
Thank you for posting a design. Here's my initial feedback -- let me know if you have any questions:
-I like the shadow effects of the man running and the logo in the background.
-This is my mistake, but I don't need all the text from the letters to employers and professionals. Just the highlights would be enough. For example, the headings can be: Benefits for Employers and Benefits for Professionals.
-Instead of create your future, can you put, Step Into Your Future.
-The gray font is too light -- can you darken it up?
-There seems to be too much red and the line across the page is a little too much or too busy.
-We only need the event details in one area, not in 2 places.
-Can you include a map? A link to a map can be found on this website: CATI (http://www.thecati.com)
-We would like our website to be bolder/bigger.
Please let me know if you have any questions and thanks again for submitting.

Hi Beth,
here is my entry for your project... I tried to keep it business, clean and simple, easy to read fonts and clean text organization. Both letters are inside for easier comprehension. If you mind doubling Event details I'll modify it. Still, info for business users and applicants are different so it's your decision.
On the back (folded) is the list of the sponsors I found in letters. Page with map and brief event details is the first thing one will see after opening brochure and it's by my opinion useful reminder. Also you may notice that I somehow personalized interior with your signature after letters. Hope you do not mind it. To me it's a nice touch.
I am eagerly waiting for your comments.
Best regards,
Bojan

Pracus,
We like the changes you made to the design - especially with the map added -- looks great. Is it possible to label Interstate 94 (I-94)? It's the straight outside line where Hwy. 20, Hwy. 11, and KR start.
Also, can you add a compass that points to North?
Can you try another font on the all the details and benefits text (the headings look good, but the rest of text looks a little too small). I'd like to see something slightly bigger and a little darker if possible.
Can you try something different with the website address? Perhaps it would look better if it was the same size font as the rest of the text? I know I originally ask for it to be bigger, but maybe it would look better if it was just bolder instead.
One additional request that was not on the original. Can you add these three words to the cover of the brochure: Professional Jobs * Professional People * Professional Seminars
Let me know if you have any questions, and thank you!

Imot,
Nice first pass. Here's my feedback:
-the what, where, when, cost employers, cost professionals, register and questions headings are too light. Can you make them dark?
- the map would be a little easier to read if it was larger.
-under the date -- CATI in Sturtevant is too light, can you make that darker.
-the 2nd page is too busy with text. We don't need all the text from the letters to employer and job seekers. Just the Benefits.
Thanks for your efforts -- let me know if you have any questions.

Bojan,
Thank you for submitting a design. Here's my feedback:
- The first page is too heavy on the red. Can you use a combination of reds, blacks and grays.
- The 2nd page is too busy with text. I made the mistake of not mentioning that we only need the event details (who what where when) plus "Employer Benefits" and "Benefits for Professinals" but not the rese of the text in the letter. My apologies.
- Would prefer not to have a yellowish background -- white, gray or red tones would be more appropriate.
-I prefer not to have my signature on the brochure -- thanks for trying but I want to stay away from the appearance of a letter.
-The addition of a map would be nice.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

This render represents what the brochure would look like after the initial unfold of the cover. :)

Ok, total confusion here!!...What text is going where? :)
I have worked for a company that specializes in advertising job openings and organizing career fairs, I know for sure that you don't want potential employees to know how much a booth cost (what for?) :). Or is this brochure going to be sent to the vendors only?
Please take the time to delete any extra text from your previous "letters", as this is obviously causing a lot of confusion among designer, and you will end up having to point out what text should and should not be used on an individual level. Believe me, it will save you lots of time.
Meanwhile, here’s the solution I am proposing for the front of your brochure.
I will be waiting for your feedback.
Thank you.

Gilles Le Bon,
We are very close to choosing a designer -- thanks for asking but it would probably be in your best interest (save you some time) to not start on anything.
Next time! We LOVE Design Outpost and plan to use it for all our future projects.

Hi Beth,
here are files with revisions. Hope it's better now. Map is on the folded page and is fist thing you see (on the right side) when you open the brochure, next to who, what, when info (on the left).
Fully unfolded brochure featurs rest of the text.
Best regards,
Bojan
