Hi Everyone,

We are looking for a new consept for a corporate clothing/uniform business. The output is the front page (Header menu and content) in a layered PSD file only.

The current site can be found at www.corporateuniforms.net. The current site is uning flash and is going to be converted to a content management system (webEFEKTs). During the process it was desided to give the website a new look and feel.

The brief scope is as follows:

Company name: Corporate Unforms

Company profile: A service and clothing design driven company that provides companies with clothing that their staff want to "wear out".

Domain name: www.corporateuniforms.net
What is the scope of this project?: To develop a new look and feel. A look and feel similar to www.studioline.com.au. The idea is to have a header, menu left and content. The content should ideally contain icons for the various catagories of clothing. The site is to be simple and easy to navigate. The design criteria for design outpost is the main page (Header, menu and body) only. Final output is a layered PSD file. No coding required.

Who is the intended audience?: Corporate Uniforms is an australian based company providing corporate colthing to both large and small businesses.

Mood or tone?: Professional and dynamic. The look should be clean and easy to navigate.

Color psychology?: As per current design (variations and colours can be changed as per designers creativity allows)
Any dynamic elements?: The site will be predominantly an online catalog.

Who are your main competitors?: www.coronet.com.au; www.gearforlife.net; www.corporateuniforms.co.nz

What resources can you provide?: As per attached files. Unfortunatly the resources are not available in PSD fromat.

Hello.
Could you show me some sites you like?

Sure,

Some of the site we like are:

http://www.iwf.org/ - with this site we like the use of colour and the use of the left and right panels. We would like to incorporate left and right panels for news items, subsctiption fields and search fields etc

http://www.tc2.com/ - nice clean site. Just like the look and feel of this site

http://www.swerve.co.uk/ and http://www.studioline.com.au/ - These sites are both nice. We like the use of the icons. We would like to incorporate this sort of idea on our site to catagorise the clothing range. Would however prefer a horisontal meny bar for Home, Fabrics, Fitting Guide, About us and Contact us

http://www.revolveclothing.com/ - Another nice site with a good look and feel

http://www.womeninfocus.com.au/ - This is the type of menu system we will be using on our site, preferable horizontal but open to alternat options if the designers choose. Once again we like the use of the left and right panels.

Hello.
I've done with 2 version. What do you think? Am I moving in the right directions - or i better think on something else?

Thanks Aliska,

Here are my interum comments, will still consult the concepts with my client. (Please see clients comments in next post)

There if a very strong preference to main.jpg. The structure and the layout was just what we had in mind. Would it be possible to get some photographs in either the body, left panel of header? Something similar as to what you had in clothing.jpg, but staying within the site design/layout of main.jpg.

Hi again Aliska,

Here are some of the comments from my client. Her preference is also main.jpg and the layout is good. Slight variations though. I have tried to be as specific as possible, sorry if I confuse or loose you.

1. She doesn't like the green that was used in the menu bar and the footer. Would it be possible to change this colour to the green used in the logo or something similar?

2. She has decided to do away with the horizontal menu items/names, the horizontal menu bar will stay (with the colour change) but will only have text of "Clothing you staff will want to "wear out"!". Similar to the text and consept of the cream bar in studioline.com.au

3. She would also like a cleaner looking site, I think what she means here is the lines to be more distinct as in studioline.com.au

4. The header needs to be cleaned up a bit, she asked for the contact details (to the right in the header) to be removed. The logo to stay justified left. She is not sure about the background colour on the header though, she thought of using a similar shade of green as used in the logo, but with a shaded background effect, something like a shade left, shade right, or something. The right of the header will have nothing... she prefers to classic, cold, clean look.

5. The box on the left (Dresses, blouses, skirts etc) is ok, she would just like the box removed, these items are to be part of the body or content... once again as per studioline website

6. The icons used in the body/content will be changed to reflect, fabrics, fitting guide, order forms and contact us. Her idea here was to use 2 rows, by 2 columns, forming 4 squares (squares not to be drawn, but formed with icons). Each of the 4 items/icons/boxes will from "Fabrics"; "fitting Guide", "Order Forms", "Contact Us". We could also use one or more images in the main page to give the main page some lift and colour. Be carefull not to get too cluttered though.

7. The background of the body/content (including the items dresses, skirts etc) to match the blue as in the wording of the logo.

8. The footer to match the new green as used in the main menu bar. Copyright information justified left and short cut items "home", "Fabrics"; "fitting Guide", "Order Forms", "Contact Us" justified right... in the same bar

Hope all this information isn't too confusing, just let me know if you need any clarification.

Some changes at design

Hi Aliska,

I have had a positive response from my client.

1. Small Change, she asked to remove the Home, Fabrics, Fitting etc to be removed from lower right.

2. Direct comment from client "My only comment is that the white at the top is too stark…any suggestions?"... She is referring to the white behind the logo in the banner. Not sure what to do here, she does like the clean / classic look but just needs something behind the banner. Maybe a shade or something...

Tks again, great work

Hi Fabian,

I sincerely apologise, I did notice your entry... but did slip up on the reply, not intentionally though... sorry; I have however included your entry with the other submissions and will be speaking to my client early tomorrow morning. Thank-you for your submission and it is excellent to see how you have implemented all my comments...

No changes to any design from my side though... it's just a matter of the client make a decision.

Hi Everyone,

Thank-you to all who have entered... excellent entries all round. I have presented all the entries to my client and she has been extremely impressed... thank-you for all you efforts. She would like some more time to review the entries and will hopefully be making a decision by Friday.

To keep everyone in the know... she is quite fond to two entries... These two entrees are dziner (shelly) and the last submission from Anne. These are not yet confirmed and it could very well be a completely different entry...

Will post winner end-of week ... sorry to draw this out :D
