DEADLINE: 4/22/05
Parkland Communities is a real-estate development company specializing in large scale higher-end residential subdivisions. We want a logo that is loose in form yet exemplifies refined elegance. We do not want a logo that is to large nor too busy. We do not have any color preferences although we need it to look good as black and white for publication.
Company information: The founder of the company is a land planner / landscape architect who places emphasis on the small details. Our communities are very innovative and creative. We always over amenitize developments with parks, green space, recreation centers and landscaping. We want our logo to emulate our "Green" phiolosophy. Please keep in mind that we are only developers and not home builders. We sell our lots to home builders.
The preferable formats are .jpeg, .pdf, and .psd. Basically, anything we would need for printing purposes and possible future modifications.
Thank you in advance for your time and talents. We are excited to see the creative results.
Sincerely,
-PC

Hi PC,
When I think of "large scale higher-end residential subdivisions", I think of Parkland, FL. Am I correct in my thinking?
Thanks.

Jason:
In response to your question. Yes, just as Parkland, Florida has a more affulent demograhics we cater our developments to a more affluent buyer. We are not located in Florida or any coastal area yet. Please do not use any tropical elements in the logo. Thank you for your interest.

Hi PC,
Here is one option for you. I'm working on another for you, but for some reason it won't export right. As soon as I have it, I will post.

Jason:
Thank you for the logo. That is very similar to an option we played with here. Except we had diffent "earth" elements in the squares such as different leaves, trees, water, contour lines. We would like the font to be looser; not so corporate. Another idea we had was a grove of trees above our name. We want our logo to give people the impression of parks and / or nature. We have a VERY "green" approach to real-estate development and would like that to show in our logo. Also, we would like to use some warm softer colors than bold orange and blue combo. I appreciate your hard work.

Hi again PC,
Thanks very much for the feedback.
Funny you should mention the "green" and the trees because the other design I was working on was based on that. I finally got it to work out so I wanted to show it to you, but based on your comments, I'm not sure it's where you want to be.

This design is definitely an improvement and a step in the right direction. I like the way Parkland has more emphasis than Communities. I also like the two tone colors. Try an option where the colors are switched. Meaning, the main logo color is dark green and the accent color is light green. I think it needs to be loosened up some more with a different font or a symbol. It still seems a bit rigid. Thank you so much for your time and creative work.

Hi PC,
I'm not sure what got into me, but instead of doing the revisions on the last design, I designed a new one. :)
(The leaves started out rotated as a "P" and "C")

Skyvee:
Thank you for the sketch. I would like to simplify it a little. In an effort to put more emphasis on Parkland please reduce the size of the trees. I would elimnate the background element to make it some what cleaner. Please consider two other options. First option: The grove of trees is taller in the center and shorter at the ends. Second Option: The grove of trees are taller on the ends and shorter in the center. Thank You for your time and work. You have a lot of creativity.
Jason:
I prefer the second option more so than the third. Seems like the leaves are out of scale with the rest of the logo. I really like including a natural element into the logo. Please play with it some more.
ALL DESIGNERS:
IN AN EFFORT TO ENCOURAGE MORE SUBMITTALS. PC WILL SOON INCREASE THE PRIZE FOR A TOTAL OF $275.00 AND EXTEND THE DEADLINE TO 4-29-05. PLEASE WACTH FOR THE POST VERIFYING THIS EXCITING CHANGE.

WOW!!! I am impressed with the amount of response and creativity. Thank You.
Bill: Please come up with another option. The design seems a bit juvenile for a large corporation.
Fabian: I like the direction. I would like to see an option with no trees and a smaller accent. please make the blue a soft red color.
Skyvee: Thanks for not bowing out. I like the logo. I think it needs a different font. The grove that is higher in the center is more appealing.
Eziey: The first logo design is INCREDIBLE!!! I love the subtle accent of the leaf and the way most of the emphasis remains on Parkland. I would like to modify it some. Please make communities all upper case as well but keep it smaller in scale just as you have shown. Please underline Parkland. Try playing with some different colors too. I really like muted warm colors. Please make the leaf accent a soft brick red and the logo green.
Great Job everyone. Thank You.

Eziey:
I am very excited! I like the color scheme of #5 the best. (Parkland in green and accent & communities in red) The colors are muted too much to the point that red appears brown. please play with making the colors bolder yet still maintain the warm hue. I do not like the teal green as seen in #6 and #7 nor do I like the pea green as in the leaf color in #7. Please keep playing with some different colors. I think we are almost there.
Thank You,
PC

CONGRATULATIONS EZIEY!!! We have decided that Eziey's logo design #10 is exactly what we wanted. Thank you to all designers for your time, talents, and creativity. We were so impressed with the many options.
Eziey, we would like to get this file as an .eps, .psd, and .jpeg formats. Please do not flatten and layers in the working drawings. We still would like to play with the colors some more at our office. Will you please send us every version you did for our color reference pallette. Great job, we truly appreciate it. See you in the Revisions forum.
