Hi!

We are in need of a logo for our new business. Eel River Stables, LLC.

We operate our business on 400 acres of private land, surrounded by woods, river and streams. We are a small farming community, 10 miles from the nearest town. Yes, I can drive a pretty mean tractor :P

We will be offering horse boarding, trail riding, lessons, cabin rental, canoe rental, fishing and lots of rest and relaxation. Very beautiful and very peaceful.

I would like to convey a feeling of "rustic elegance" with our logo. We will be using this logo for everything....print, tshirts, signs, web and anything else I can think of for marketing

I would like a logo with an image that will be able to stand alone if I decide to use it that way.

I have watched all of you in action and I am truly amazed with your talent. I am very excited to see your ideas!

Please let me know if I can provide any other information to help you!

Thanks so much!!

Carmen

Pixelsystem, thank you so much for getting this started. :D

I will show these to my hubby later this evening and get some feed back for you. So far I love them all!

Thanks,

Carmen

Okay, I am back with some better feedback. Thank you for your patience ;)

Pixelsystems - From the first set of designs, we love #1 with the black horse. I would like to see that design with the font that you used on #2 and #3. We really like your #5 design also, however, it is hard to separate the horse from the water. Can this be defined a little more? I would also like to see this one with a different font. Thank you so much...these are beautiful

General info - I have found a picture (actually a tshirt) that I really like. Here is the link http://www.whalesdirect.com/productxl.html?t_q=FT033

if that link doesn't work, try this one http://www.whalesdirect.com/product.html?t_q=FT033

I really like the simple, rustic feel of this.

Thanks so much!

Carmen

And my personal picks:

The horse is drinking from the river (the sign and the river name itself being the river) and the logo is elegant, simple yet interesting. Overlapping shapes add a unique touch to it.

A couple from me...

Pixelsystem - Thanks so much for the revisions. I like #14 the best out of these. I would like to see a couple of changes if possible. Can you make the banner (river) the light blue and would there be a way that you could make the tail of the horse a tad wider, bushier, flowing...does that make any since at all? :D

I also keep going back to your #5 design. Could you try that one with a solid back ground (the darker of the two tone color you used) then use the lighter of the two tone color for the river. Maybe this would help separate the horse from the river? And I would really love to see this design distressed or weathered if possible.

Thank you so much! Please let me know if I am asking to much ;)

Shnickerdoodle Studios - These are so cute, but not really the look that I am going for. The second one makes me giggle every time I look at it! So creative :D However, they make me think more of a dude ranch type logo. We are more of a relaxing, serene, pleasure riding type of place.

I love your work and would really like to see if you have any other ideas. I am really wanting to go for more of an elegant, yet rustic (or weathered, distressed) look.

Thanks so much!

I will also provide revisions if chosen as the designer so you do not have to worry about getting the logo exactly right, we can work on the colors and variations later on.

Pixelsystem - Thanks so much for the changes. That looks fine for now.

I still have a week left on my original deadline, so I'm hoping that a few more will enter the contest

Carmen, its ok to ask me for more. Would you like me to try anything else?

Thanks Pixelsystem. My eye is still drawn to your #5 design. If you have time, I would really like to see this in some different colors. The green is beautiful, but I don't think it works with the type of image that we are going after. I would really like to see this is in muted browns or even a barn red color (not bright red, but a muted rustic color red)

General info for all- I have found a couple of posts to explain what I mean by the "weathered/distressed" look. I really like this look.

and another:

Post #11 by Raja and Post #29 by MyChicken...there are more on the second page of this same thread

http://www.designoutpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6181&highlight=fend

I would love to see some designs that incorporate this type of distressing.

Thanks so much!

Thanks so much for the new entries!

Eziey - We really like this design and would like to see it with the "Eel River" made a bit smaller so the length of those words match up with the length of the word "stables". Maybe even some variations on the lettering so we can see a couple of different options. Thank You!

Tyler - We really like this design also. Would like to see a variation on fonts if possible. Maybe one that is not quite as chunky. I am not sure about the mountains, only because we have no mountains where we live (some rolling hills) do you have any other ideas for this? I would love to see them if you do.

Thanks to both of you for the weathered look. This is exactly what I had pictured! =)

Pixelsystem - I would still love to see your #5 or #15 design done with this weathered look if possible.

We still have 4 days left and are open to any new ideas that might be floating around out there!

Thanks again,

Carmen

PS... I was going to try and get through a whole post without using a smiley (my daughter said I use them to much), but I just can't do it! :P there! I feel better now

Sorry for the delay in feedback. I have struggled over the weekend with how to proceed.

Pixelsystem- I look forward to seeing your revision.

Eziey- Thank you for the changes. I like your #2 revision best. Could you possibly try some kind of a border around this?
I also like the half moon shape that you put above the horse in #3.

DesignGeneral- Thanks so much for your entry. It is not really the direction that I am looking for. I am looking more for an emblem type logo that might be able to stand alone if I use it without the lettering. Do you have any other ideas? I would love to see them!

Tyler - Thank you for your revision. While I love this design, I think the hills and cowboy is making this look to western for our type of business. Could I possibly get you to try a couple different things with this? For example....use the bottom line & star on both the top and the bottom (remove the hills and cowboy) and shorten the letters so it fits within the length of the lines. If you have any other ideas I would love to see them.

Thank you once again to all of you who have entered. I really appreciate the talent that is on this board. I am going to ask that this contest be extended for a few more days so we can continue working towards a winning logo.

 Wow Paula! these are great

I like your first concept although I think it might be just a tad to elegant. I think this would be great for more of an English riding stable.

Your #2 concept is exactly the direction that I am looking for.
Would it be possible to fit the word "stables" in with the rest of the lettering? or would that make it to congested?

Thank you so much for your entries!

Is there a way that you could move the horse up just a tad bit so you can see the bottom of the hind legs?
