[Project Complete] Logo for CoffeePlaces.com - $150- Deadline April 25th.

I need a logo for a new website that is in development. The URL will be www.coffeeplaces.com. It will be an international directory/reviews/rating site for coffee bars, shops, houses, etc.

The site design has not been done yet and I may do that here at Design Outpost also, although I haven't decided on that yet. So if you do the logo, you may also have a chance to do the site design.

I plan to create a simple, fast-loading site with minimal clutter that allows visitors to find what they are looking for quickly. I want the site to feel comfortable and encourage people to submit and review coffee places.

So, back to the logo. I would like something that implies coffee around the world and has the words "coffee places" in it. As for color, my instinct says something with brown (coffee) in it, but I'm open to other ideas and I will create the site to match the logo.

Thanks to all for your quick work. I have a partner and she and I will make a decision together. Here's some initial feedback on the entries so far:

pixelsystem: My partner likes your concept best so far. Are the 3 squares part of the logo? They seem sort of separated from the rest of it.

eziey: I like your concept. I would say at this point I'm leaning your way.

paula23: Your concept is my other favorite. I'm not wild about the lighter cream background color. Maybe you could try some other variations.

castell and yannick: We aren't crazy about either of yours at this point. Please feel free to submit something else.

To all: We have by no means decided on anything yet. We would love to have lots more entries. It's still wide open.

Thank you for your feedback. The color squares simply show the colors used as per the rules of Design Outpost. Each entry must be numbered and colors presented. The sqares are not part of the logo.

The initial concept you commented on represents a light, airy international theme. I was trying to get that "french cafe" feel without the logo being too tacky or too direct. What modifications/variations would you like me to try if any?

fabian: I like the text, but I'm not sure I understand the symbolism of the beans. They look a little like lips :). I'd like something in the logo to suggest the world.

I've started mocking up a site design and I can be more specific about the logo now. The proportions should be approximately 265 X 61. Something close to this size will fit perfectly. So far, eziey 1 is closest to the look and shape we like. We would very much like to have a bunch more entries before this closes. Is anyone working on anything?

Thanks Tonya. Could you show me your logo with blue instead of orange? Could you use something close to the blue in eizey's first logo? I'll show them to my partner tonight.

This contest is supposed to close tonight, but we have not yet quite made up our minds. Right now we like:

Hi pixelsystem. Sorry for the confusion. I thought in my initial post I made it clear that my instinct was for coffee colors, but I was open to all ideas. Truth is, I'm really just a novice at this and I'm not very good at visualizing. I needed to see some ideas before I could start to get a sense of what I want.

As for the site design and colors, after I started this thread I began to get a sense of how I want the site to look. I've been mocking up a design and that's why I posted the general proportions I need for the logo a few days ago, not at the start. I also really like the brown and blue thing, so that's why I asked to see the orange one in blue.

Anyway, please put up any new ideas you have and I'll try to give you feedback.

Can you design something that will fit those proportions? We don't need the text "The International..." as part of the logo. Thanks!

We like eziey4 in message #24 best. We'd like to get it in three versions, the one you posted, one with all the text in brown, and one with all the text in blue. Otherwise, it's fine like it is. Also, is it possible to get copies of the other three logos you designed for us? Just in case we change our minds later. We like them all.

What formats can you supply? We would like to have psd, png, and jpg if possible.
