(Admin code added by Michael - K9516964B)

= COMPANY NAME =

Amoscocorp Global Ltd.
* Note: "Amoscocorp" is 1 word.
* Note 2: "Amoscocorp" is the Company name....for logo design, though, I think it's best to stick with these 2 variations ONLY: "AMOSCOCORP" & "AmoscoCorp".

= COMPANY INFORMATION =
Oilfield service company that specializes in onshore & offshire pipe/tubular inspection & maintenance, lifting gear inspection, rig inspection, pipe management & 3rd party inspection.

Our client base consists all of the majors in the following categories:
a) oil companies (Chevron, Shell, ExxonMobil, TotalFina, etc.)
b) drilling contractors (Transocean, GlobalSantaFe, etc.)
c) other service companies (i.e. Halliburton, Sperry-Sun, Baker Hughes, etc.)

= COLORS & STYLE =
1) looking for a 2 color design only, but must also look good in 100% black.
2) RGB, CMYK & B/W versions need to be provided.
3) want simple, but sharp looking logo...nothing complicated.
4) NO GREEN please (because of competitor's colors).
5) LITTLE or NO BLUE - Blue will conflict with another internal company logo we have and this logo needs to be different.
6) Name to be included in the logo as after creating the logo, I will most probably create another project for corporate identity, i.e. business card + letterhead, but I want to start with the logo first.
7) in addition to being on business cards and stationery, the logo will go on the back of NAVY BLUE coveralls and white/beige caps, so the logo needs to be able to work with a NAVY BLUE background as well.

= FORMAT =
1) the logo needs to be in Vector format compatible with CorelDraw 12 or earlier versions.
2) other formats required are: WMF & TIF formats...large, medium & small versions. If you can supply PSD, PNG formats as well...that would be wonderful as well. :D

I hope all the info above is sufficient, if not, please let me know.

I look forward to everyone's ideas!

Cheers,
Fred

ok...interesting ideas so far...

just a note to everyone (and i'll amend my original post): "Amoscocorp" is the Company name....for logo design, though, I think it's best to stick with these 2 variations ONLY: "AMOSCOCORP" & "AmoscoCorp".

pixelsystem - not bad...let's see it straight-up, though, instead of angled and/or slanted.

Tyler - interesting logo design, but the oil drop won't work...maybe for an "oil company", but we're a service company that works for oil companies, so that will be misleading who we are. On the symbol, it's not bad, but maybe a little too "techie" for us.....I'm looking for more simplicity really.

Alright then...keep the ideas coming in!

The idea behind the A in the circle is the strength of the circle within a circle which implies protection, service and completeness:

pixelsystem - thanks for doing that alternate "view" of your logo... will have to see how this all pans out, but it's not bad either way...straight up or slanted.

eziey - like the idea, but not quite what we're looking for.

Tyler - i see what you've done there, but looking for something a little more tighter and not necessarily a piece of pipe material.

G)(G - looks nice. we like the idea of the 3rd logo on the list. Can you do that one in various color formats?

OK....let's see some more ideas!! 5 days left...

Hello Fred,

Here is a simple & sharp looking logo. :)
(the concept is based on a stylized "A")

*the blue background is provided to ensure that the logo
will look good when used with the other internal company logo, which you mentioned in the brief.

castell (galin) - like the concept for sure. it's a bit hard for me to see the stylized "A", but I DO see it...but I'm worried about the other folks in our industry as the oilfield you know is well....rough and tough, so simple is better so they can understand it. It also looks like a shield as well which is a cool idea.

On the 3D concept...no go on that rendition...i like Concept 1 ALOT better. i'm not a big fan of 3D or shadows for logos.

Tonya - love your work, but not sure if this design is suited for the company. Not a real big fan of gray and not sure if i'm liking the geometrical shapes. i guess we're looking for more stylized shapes with smooth curves rather than sharp edges.

lonelyrabbit - now that's a bit different and one i have to talk to our team about. can't quite decide if i like the all lowercase letters, but nevertheless interesting...

Taldo - slick design....not sure if the "others" like it, but it's definitely heading in the right direction. it reminds me a little of the volkswagen logo, so is there anything you can do to shape it up to bit a little different to not as look like the VW logo? Maybe you can move the outer circle nearer the inner portion or remove the outer circle altogether.

EVERYONE - I must admit I am very impressed with all of your ideas. This is my first time to post a project on here and I HOPE I'm doing my part right - if not, please let me know!! I'll surely be back here for more projects in the near future. This is really wonderful and all of you have great ideas, so thank you for taking your time to present your ideas/designs!

OK people...this is really going to be difficult...more great ideas since my last post....thank you very much for all of your designs!

I just want to remind everyone that the logo WILL be used on NAVY BLUE coveralls and hats, so simple is better as it'll be cheaper/easier for the companies to create a patch or do stitching on the garments.

On the colors, everyone is coming up with good ideas, so I think it's best you continue to come up with the best variation you think would look nice on white stationary and Navy Blue coveralls, but once we get to the "next stage" after we award a designer...we can then fine-tune the colors.

To give everyone a better idea of WHO will be seeing the logo - below are the main companies we do business with. Everyone knows Chevron, ExxonMobile, Shell, BP....so I won't put links for them, but some of you may not be familiar with the below companies. On their websites, you'll see guys wearing coveralls and hardhats, so....imagine our fellas as well in the same suit with your logo.

Here are our main clients:

Chevron
ExxonMobil
TotalFinaElf
GlobalSantaFe = www.gsfdrill.com
Transocean = www.deepwater.com
Halliburton = www.halliburton.com
Sclumberger = www.schlumberger.com
Baker Hughes = www.bakerhughes.com
BJ Services = www.bjservices.com

DesignGeneral - thanks for your interest in participating. I'll make an exception and allow you to submit your entry, but please do so by today as, in all fairness to the other designers and since I have stated the deadline was yesterday....I need to go ahead and wrap this up and award a designer ASAP.

Thanks for your understanding....

I would like to thank EVERYONE for participating in our project. All of you are very talented and have presented some great ideas and designs. This was NOT an easy decision and took some time to actually decide, but nevertheless the time has come to award one of you. So without further ado...

The Winning Designer is: Eziey for his design "eziey 2".

Eziey - we'll need to make some minor changes, so I'll see you in the Revisions Forum.

Thank you again everyone...see you again soon!

Cheers,
Fred

Eziey - It was a close-call between yours and a couple of the other's designs, but we like your idea of the stylized "A" design you came up with on this particular one...it's simple, straight to the point, modern and easy to reproduce on coveralls, hats, stationary, etc. + it looks good even in black and white (for faxes). I personally think it will look awesome on caps and back of coveralls....which is extremely important for us since we are an oilfield service company with many staff running around with coveralls on.

OK, in case you're confused on which logo we like of yours as you posted a couple of different ones...I have attached it to this post.

On the color....one of our managers is not too fond of the orange color, but I actually like it...so let's see how it looks on the following revisions:

1) make the orange color - a DARKER orange
2) change the "AmoscoCorp" to Black - the font is fine
3) also...let's see a medium red and a darker red

How you have the logo is fine for coveralls/hats/reports, but for letterheads, we'll need the full name "AmoscoCorp Global Ltd.", so if you can add the rest of it in there and let's have a looksie.

Let me know if you have any questions!
Cheers,
Fred

Thanks!... A question..on number 3) , do you mean the font or symbol?

holymoly
04-26-2005, 05:54 PM
sorry 'bout that...on #1 & #3...I meant the color of the symbol only, while on both let's see how the text looks in black instead of violet.

thanks for all the above variations, Eziey...OK, let's do this then to finalize it:

1) for the "AmoscoCorp" only logo which we'll use on garments and the like, Logo #6 is perfect - we like that specific red color. SO...we're basically done with that.

2) for the "AmoscoCorp GLOBAL LTD." logo...same red color as #6, but using the format you have it on 8,9 & 10. That looks great...except to remove the period/full stop on LTD.

So that that should be it, Eziey. Let's have a look at the final version of the 2 logo variations and we should be able to wrap this up.

Question: ok, this is the first project for us on here, but before we finish....don't we need to both sign a copyright form? How do we go about doing that actually?

Cheers,
Fred
