Greetings!

I am in need of a logo for my wholesale potpourri website that will take me through the years.

My website: www.rachelspotpourri.com is WAY to cutesy right now, I want a more professional look, with the logo being 'our' mark if you know what I mean.

I like the 50's Font that is used on my present logo, but please do not let that hinder you from trying something completely different. The most important thing, is the professional look.

Colors: I am considering using a black main background, and keeping the other 2-3 colors I can use very simple. At the moment I can't tell you specifically what color I am looking for, I am open for many ideas.

There is an active post right now for a coffee house, the Designer; Paula23, her logo ideas have really caught my eye, something like this is what I vision right now, the name Rachels Potpourri, something in the middle, with the slogan; 'Simply the Best' underneath. So far I have not added the apostrophe (') where it really should be in the name Rachels, and am still up in the air to add it or not. Those of you who have an opinion, please let me know if it is inappropriate Not to have the apostrophe.

OK, sorry to be long winded, what a great place this is! Thanks in advance for anyone who is willing to take on this challenge!

Kindest Regards,

Mari

Forgot to add the deadline when posting, April 30 please!

Hi there, Nice to see something, Thanks!

Feedback:

#1 and #3 is definitely Not what I am looking for, I really like the look of an 'open' logo, no framing.

I don't like the rose... I need something else as a background, just not sure what.

I may be interested in a white/black logo, with a spash of burgundy color.

Thanks for being the first Paula, I appreciate it bunches, but do hope to see some more ideas! If I can answer any questions, please let me know, Thanks!

Hi Amanda, Thanks so much for your entry! I love the fact that you came up with a 'mark'. This is what I want, some kind of mark for the logo, I don't care much for the font or the way that the logo is layed out. Thanks again!

Hi Amanda,

Thanks for the revisions. This is more difficult than I thought it would be. The best way I can express myself is to go back to my first post about the submission of the coffee house/bistro, and Paula23 submitted something there I really liked. I am looking for this kind of logo.

Basically I need a 'mark' and I am not sure what you have created is the one I am looking for. Also the coloring is not what I like yet either.

 I hope ya'll are used to this, makes me feel bad to come back and post!

I sure would LOVE to see some other submissions!!! :D

Hi,
Don't be concerned about giving honest feedback.
It really helps us all get a better idea of what you do and don't want.
Here's another approach from me :)

Thanks,Paula

Hi Paula,

I like #2 the best of these, #1 is not bad either. Nothing is really getting my attention yet.

Just so everyone knows, the word Potpourri is one word. I don't know if it is the fonts that is making them look separate, but it is just one word.

Anyone want to give me some kind of mark, with the name, and slogan all in black/white/gray scale? Can a logo look good with this sceme?

Thanks so much!

Hi Paula, I appreciate you submitting more. I must say I am a bit disappointed to not have seen more submissions.

Paula, on these latest submissions, the design on the background, would it be possible to make that look more flowery versus geometrical? Also, the fonts are a bit too simple.

Can you try to add a spash of dark burgundy in this, maybe the flower?

Thanks so much for taking the time to add more! I really do appreciate it!

Hi,
Thanks for the feedback. I'll play around with the flower/mark
and give you some different layout options.
Are you partial to a feminine script font,or something more traditional?
I tried to emulate the coffee/bistro logo you referred to in the first group of logos (with rose) that I submitted.
I'm assuming the Coffee/Bistro logo you were referring to was the one with the simple stylized coffee cup in the middle?
Thanks in advance for further instruction.

Paula :)

Hi there,

I think more partial to feminine, but at this point I am open to seeing a few fonts if that is ok.

And yes, the layout of the bistro was what really caught my eye, something in the middle with the name on each side, and the slogan below the 'mark'. Thanks Paula!

Paula! WOW! #3 of your latest is what we need to work with!! Loving it!

Could I please see how it would look on a bag, letterhead, and business card?

And can we try just a couple of other fonts for Rachels Potpourri please, maybe not so curvy? But definitely unique fonts that are not used as much. Also the slogan, try it not all caps, just Simply the Best like that. THANK YOU!!!

Tonya, thanks for jumping in, your entries are just not quite what I was looking for.

Paula, thanks for adding in the extras so I could see them. I am going to try and look for some more font choices to have you use, if we could get the font to be a bit thicker yet still feminine, and a good matching font for Simply the Best, we would be complete! Oh, and I would like 'the' to not be capitalized at all in the slogan.

Thanks!

I found a font called Persimmon that I thought may work.

Paula, possibly the font you used in sample number one... with the slogan font being just a bit more straight.

Thanks!

Hi, Are you referring to sample 1 from post (Message)#3.#9 or #16
Do you want the slogan in a reversed arch, but just a little straighter.
I'll see if I can locate the "Persimmon" font or one similar
Thanks,Paula

Hi Paula,

The sample 1 from message 16 font.

Could you please show the two logos from message 16, #'s 2 and 3 with this font, and if you found a font like persimmon show them also. I like the way the slogan is shaped, it just needs to be small letters, except for the S and B. Thank You!

Hi Mari,
Thanks for the feedback.
I wasn't able to find the font you requested.
Attached are the 2 logos with the font you requested, followed by fonts similar to the "Persimmon" font you like.
Also shown are various type faces for each tagline.

Thanks,Paula :)

Hi Paula,

I just spent the last 90 minutes looking for fonts, without any luck. I would like the slogan to be less bold than the name, I am thinking Bradley Hand, or Scroll font, although I don't like that scroll font bringing some letters too close together, and others separated. Again a not so used font would be great.

On the name, it needs to be bolder, that is the best way I can explain it. The letters need to be a little more thicker, and strong yet keep the feminine touch to it.

On this last set, 2b is the one I like best. I do like 2f also, but need the letters to be a bit bigger, thicker, and the slogan needs to be smaller.

When you offer the choices again, can you keep the one sample like the original, without putting it over the flower at all please, (Message 16, sample 2).

Thanks so much!

Hi,
I thought I would just post some new font combinations.
If you like any of them I can show you how they would look
with the flower.
The taglines are also various fonts.

Thanks,Paula

Hi Paula,

None of those fonts seem like they will look right, can you please try these out:

Message 16; Sample 1 - the font you used for the slogan, can that font be put in small letters along with caps for the S and B? If so, I would like to see the samples of 2 and 3 from message 16 to have the slogan in that font, and the name to be in the font as sample 2 of message 24. So basically the same samples as message 24, with the slogan being the different font, and please keep the name out of the flower on that one sample.

Whew, I bet you will be as glad to have this over with as me, this has not been fun!

Thanks for all your effort,

Mari

Hi Paula, you did great! Can I ask one last request before I pick the final one....

Take the sample 2 from previous message above, and use the font you used for the slogan from message 12, sample 2 and put that there instead of the font you used above. (You will just be changing out the slogan font) I will make my choice then, THANKS!

Will I be able to get the flower by itself too?

Yes. I sure can give you the flower seperately :)

Paula, I have chosen the logo in Message 30.

Thank You for being the only designer here to work with me. I guess it was a good thing I liked your work so much otherwise the concept of me coming here would have been invalid.

The fee for the logo is much deserved to you! Thanks again, please let me know what we do from here.
