View Full Version : [Project Complete] A logo for WebMats.com - $200
(Admin code added by Michael - G091622A)
Hi,
I'm redesigning and reworking my website WebMats.com (http://www.webmats.com) and would like a professionally designed logo.
I would like something smaller and able to fit more into the left top corner of my new site (you can see the site in progress at the temp site http://webmats.finestshops.com), I'd like the logo to be contemporary, and not too cumbersome looking.
I don't want to limit your artist creativity, but perhaps the reddish color on the new site might be incorporated into the logo? (See http://webmats.finestshops.com (http://webmats.finestshops.com) template for colors)... and I'm open to placing a mat in the logo if that works w/your artistic idea. (There are tons of pictures in the yoga mat section of WebMats.com (http://www.webmats.com/Pilates_Yoga_Mats/Yoga_Mats_Pilates_Mats1.html)) But still want to keep it looking more sleek and linear than bulky or cumbersome? Hope that makes sense.
There is a deadline for the week of May 5
I'm anxious to see what you will come up with... feel free to ask questions to clarify any of this gibberish... I'm leaving it in your creative hands!
Kind regards,
Valerie DiCarlo :)
Schedule has changed... please review project... we need logo one week from (4/27)today - deadline May 5!!
Thanks!
Valerie DiCarlo
Where is everyone? Not ONE person wants to take a stab at this? 55 views, not one design?
Lots of talent here, I know... are you all that busy and don't need the $200? I've noticed more response on projects paying less...
Would love to see something today!
Thanks,
VDC

Hi, Valerie :) I've added the $200 to the project description - you might have forgotten to put it there, and as it didn't say anywhere it was $200 - it might have been the reason for the designers to not enter :)

bogglins,
Thanks SO much for being the first to jump in! I like the top two better than the one positioned on the sample site...
Is there a way to make the "mat" look more real? It sort of looks like a carpet rather than an exercise mat. Most of my business tends to be selling exercise mats... probably should have mentioned that in my original post.
Again, I'm looking for something "chic" and contemporary... with class and an artistic flavor.
I look forward to seeing more of your samples!
Thanks again!

Hi there!
Thanks to all for the great work... I very much like eziey and Tyler.
Eziey, can we make the mat in the design look more like a mat than a carpet? And can I see different font options on the lettering just to get some different ideas/looks for the word "WebMats"? I love the colors.
Tyler, very nice idea w/the yoga-type figure... I like it very much but I want to include all my exercise mats. Also, please check out http://webmats.finestshops.com/ for the colors of the site. I'm looking for some of that reddish color to be in the logo.
Thanks again and I look forward to seeing more!!
Best to you!

Thanks for those changes eziey,
I'm just feeling like none so far really prject anything unique, contemporary or chic/slick. I like the color choices, but none of them grab me.
Can I see some different ideas? Some different styles, different lettering or font, something more contemporary?
Thanks for hanging in w/me... on other posts/projects, eziey, I like your imagination... THAT'S what I'm looking for... More imagination than I could come up w/on my own! :o)
I would love to see more,

Can I use gradient or toning? :)
 sure, eziey! Of course, I have NO idea what that is... ... but sure, go ahead and use it! :D

Thank you Bill for your entry... I like your idea... can I see other/different options that include different fonts, etc?
Thanks eziey for your additional entries... I also like this idea. I am more partial to the first one from the last post... but am still wanting to see different fonts, etc.
I know the talent is here... perhaps you're all stretched too thin w/all these projects plus your own firm's projects? I had hoped to have many different styles and designs to choose from.
Keep them coming PLEASE... we're getting closer to the deadline... and if any new designers want to throw in their ideas and designs, I'd be very appreciative!
My best,
vdc

What do you think?

Tyler

A more generalized use of a mat. :)
:)
NOW we're getting somewhere!
Artemii - I loved the idea of the mat "in use", but liked Tyler's design a bit better because his figurine is "sexless" (if that makes sense)... Can I see some more from you?
Tyler - Your's is GREAT... I love the idea of the mat "in use"... I would, however, like to stick closer to the colors of my template (http://webmats.finestshops.com) if possible. The "olive" shade needs to be a tad darker, I would like to reverse the colors on WebMats so that the eyes are drawn to Mats by the reddish color. Can the figurine look more like it's working out rather than like its surfing a wave? The mat is just a bit too "curly".
In general, I would REALLY like to see different font types from everyone...
Thanks for the new entries and all your great efforts! PLEASE keep them coming!
Best to you,
vdc

Hello again, Valerie! :)
Thanks for the feedback.
Here are two more entries from me.
I think they're quite "sexless", what do you think?
Artemii.

:)
These last entries are definitely much closer to what I had in mind... they have a "creative", "inventive" approach! And I love that they have a mat "in use"!! Thanks so much Tyler and Artemenii for your creativity and efforts!!
Artemii -
1. Can I see at least one other "sexless" ( :) ) figurine on the same design as on Message #23 - perhaps an "upright" figurine? Hope that makes sense...
2. Can you match the "olive" color a bit closer to my site template? Please see http://webmats.finestshops.com for reference... the "olive" is a bit paler and not as green.
3. Can I see several "softer" font examples in the sample in Message #24?
Tyler -
I am trying to decide between the 3rd and 5th sample in Message #22... I like those rounder, "softer" fonts. And the colors look great.
1. Can you eliminate 'the best mats. the best prices" text? I would want the logo w/o that.
2. Can I see at least one more sample w/another figurine? Just to compare?
Thanks again for ALL the entries... I am so impressed w/the talent here at Design Outpost! Any other logo design entries would be welcome... there are still a few days left! :D
Best to you,
vdc

Thanks so much Artemii & Tyler... these last samples were fantastic... I'll be back in touch towards the deadline date... I have to get some company feedback, so hang w/me a bit longer. We have a tough decision to make!!
Any other entries are still welcome!

:)
eziey,
Thanks for your entries... not exactly what I'm looking for at this point.
I like the idea of a figurine/person "using" the mat... or of "symbolic" (exercise) equipment on or near the mat (Like the balls in message 28)
Thanks for all your efforts!! I liked the rounder, softer font!

I will be submitting something soon :P
THANKS FOR ALL THESE GREAT DESIGNS!!
Tyler - I think I prefer the previous figures better than this last one... but thanks for going "outside the box", which is what I'm looking for.
Paula23 - I love your entries. On "a", can I see "Web" in the "olive color? And can I see it w/rounder fonts? I love "b" as is... but just for "grins", can I see "web" in the "olive" color and can I see "com" in the same font as "webmats"?
Artemii - I think I prefer your designs in messages 28 & 29 over this last one... but thanks for your great efforts!

Hello,
THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR AWESOME DESIGNS!! I'm sure our paths will cross again here at Design Outpost.
A VERY difficult decision was made for our logo design! We've decided to go w/Paula23 "A" design in messages #34 & #38.
Thanks again!

Thanks for choosing my design! :)

and we'll take it from there.

Paula,
Yes, there are a few things... I guess this will be moved to the revisions forum? We need only work out the color scheme and font.

Hi,
We can begin revisions here if you'd like.
Thanks,Paula
Hi Paula,
The one I'd like to revise is "a6" in message #38.
Please make the "olive" color a bit darker to match the shade as close as you can to the site template http://webmats.finestshops.com
I'd like the mat in grey, but a little darker than the grey you were using in other samples.
Can you reduce the image slightly so that it will fit nicely in the left corner (both the height and length) - not to spread across the top like the one there now... hope that makes sense! Let me know, if not! :)
Thanks!!
Valerie

How's this look :)
Thanks,Paula
Sorry Paula,
I didn't communicate very well! My bad. What I meant to say regarding the "size" is to keep the design as it is, but reduce the whole design to be a bit smaller. (I like the figurine in the middle in the original design)... so keep the size of figurine/logo the same as original, just reduce the whole thing to be a bit smaller (I want it to fit in left corner of template)
BTW, the colors are perfect on the first design on that last message...
Thanks again!

No problem.
All the files I will be sending you will be scalable.
I can save the logo sized to fit your webpage also.
Are the demensions going to be the same as your current website?

Let me know if you need anymore revisions.
If not I'll get the files prepared and send them to you.
Thanks,Paula
Paula,
That size looks good... the dimensions of the design will have to fit the template that I'm re-building on (http://webmats.finestshops.com)
The height looks a little too big? Can you check it out and advise me? The height was what was worrying me - that's why I was also going to choose the "B" design - because it was not as "high"...(I loved that one too and had a REALLY hard time deciding!! ... and am still wavering to some degree!!!) :(
I know I defintely don't want the logo to be as big as the test one they placed there... I want to be able to use that top space for other things...
Is it possible to have a small black & white version like the sample in message #34 at the bottom left corner along w/this main one? If not, no worries... Since this is my first go at Design Outpost, I'm not sure if that goes against any "rules"
Thanks for all your effort and patience!!

Hi,
Here is how the logo would look om your website.
The top one is the original logo, the bottom one had the
person reduced a little to allow the text to be a bit larger.
I'll be nore than happy to provide you with the black and white
version of the logo :)
Thanks,Paula
I think we're done!
The bottom is the winner - (slightly reduced person/slightly larger letters)!
Thanks for all you've done, Paula!!
Best,
Valerie :)
