I would like a logo for my private dog training company. I'm in the Los Angeles area and work mainly with rescued dogs and their owners helping them with behavior issues.
I've attached a sketch of an idea that I really like; please feel free to build upon that idea or depart from it. I like that it includes a dog (or part of one), and the book suggests learning/education and is also appropriate for the company name.
The name of the company ("Great Expawtations Dog Training") doesn't necessarily need to be included in the logo but if you can find a clever way of incorporating it that would be great to see, too.

Skyvee, thank you so much for putting this together so quickly! I really like your creation but would love to compare it to my original idea of the view from the front of the book with just the paws and rear showing.
I still may end up going with your idea but would just love the comparison.
Again, thank you so much for your work. I'm very impressed.
Take care,
Dana

Skyvee and Sarah,
Thanks so much for these. I'm afraid my original idea of the butt behind the book may not work; non-dog people may not get it right away. I haven't completely given up on it but am slowly coming to that realization.
I had another idea of the top of the dog's head visible from behind the book with the paws on each side again but the tail is kind of off to the side wagging.
Again, this may not work but i'd love to see it.
Skyvee, I really like the circle with my tag line in it.
Sarah, the phrase "never underestimate what your dog can learn" is something i would like to use in addition to the company name.
Thank you so much for taking the time to create these for me. It's exciting to see them come to fruition.

Hi Sarah. I really like your last design. Can you make 'Expawtations' all black font? I would love it if the blue on the book was a bit softer. Not necessarily baby-blue but not quite as bright.
I'm not sure how to convey this via words, but can you put the logo on top of a square or rectangular block of color (maybe a soft green) to give it more of a defined border? it doesn't have to be perfect, almost like the color splash on the book cover.
I hope that makes sense. I wouldn't need that for the black and white version; just the color.
Thank you so much for your help!

Hi guys. I'm sorry I haven't been in contact for a bit. I'm having a difficult time choosing the design I like best.
I'll let you know as soon as I've made a decision. I want to thank you again for all of your hard work. I really am impressed.

Sarah, can you make the green a bit darker? Not too much just a bit more contrast.
I realize if I use the logo on a business card it will be difficult to read the "never underestimate" line. I may need one with and one without. Can we try one without the line to see how it would look?
Thank you very much!

absolutely! Heres a version with a darker, more saturated green :)
With the "never underestimate" line, you could always put that elsewhere and larger on the card, if you wanted to highlight it :)

Alright, I have one more variation. Honestly, I started thinking my "3 & 4" posts were looking more and more like a mouse  so I added some fur to the face of my first dog and placed him in the circular layout.
Everyone's looks so great! :) Good job!

Hiya Dana,
Here are some with the colours you chose. I can show you examples of other tints of the colour if you think it is too saturated or if you'd like to choose another colour :)

Sarah,
I like the greens very much. Would you mind trying a few different shades of blue on the book for a bit more contrast?
Also, if I decide to do so, how would I hire you to help me design a business card and letterhead using this logo?
Thank you so much!!!!

Did you see my question about biz cards and letterhead?
